  1. ^ I know what it was referring to and I know what it means. There have been times where parks have used things like that to hint at a coaster. I was just replying to someones post...but thanks for your input.
  2. Interesting theory, although after doing a little research, I don't see how "Changing of the Guard" could tie in to the rumored Centurion coaster.
  3. I hope they don't keep increasing the gate price too much until they get a new coaster, I know a lot of people who think its way too overpriced but I suppose with the waterpark expansion this year we will see how it goes.
  4. Does anyone know what the front gate ticket price was last year? I know its $47 this year but I want to know if there was an increase from last year. I never really pay attention because I always have a gold pass
  5. Here's the only one I have. As we were leaving on closing day, and we got a red light as we were heading out, so I quick snapped this picture because I new that it would be the last time I saw it lit up. From an trip report I did back in November. I was referring to the new, modern sign but thats cool too!
  6. Someone should post a pic of the sign lit up if they have one, I'd like to see that
  7. Has anyone seen this article yet? Cedar fair plans to add dark rides to all its amusment parks. LINK: http://www.latimes.com/travel/themeparks/la-trb-cedar-fair-dark-rides-20150415-story.html
  8. What exactly are you referring to? The splash pad?
  9. Ahh touche! Didn't even think about the logo's on the trains!
  10. Seeing the old valleyfair sign go is so sad. I hope they don't change the logo on the top of the power tower, I think that would be the last of the old logo! It has so much history.
  11. What about the possibility of a dark ride? I love flight of fear at KI! The launch makes the ride super enjoyable, i believe there are a few inversions on that ride too.
  12. While we're on the whole WT topic, has anyone ridden Mamba at WOF? I'm interested to hear how it compares to WT or M-XL200. Mamba was featured on insane coaster wars so you would think it would be known as a respectable hyper-coaster.
  13. It would be tempting from an overall thrill standpoint for sure but a GT-X would not fill the hole of a missing Hyper and people mover that WT is. I think a GT-X or something similar would be a great replacement for CS when it is time for it to go. The dream would be a Intamin Mega-Lite to replace CS. I don't think the CS will ever leave valleyfair, it has way too much history for the park being that it was one of the first rides. I'm not entirely sold on the GT-X coaster yet, probably won't until I get a chance to ride lightning run. Think about this though, what if WT got its original train replaced with an B&M style train? The airtime would be so much better! I love those lap bar restriants.
  14. I read last summer that over the next 5 years, Cedar Fair is going to put a majority of its funds into VF and MiA but I think that's just my optimism getting the best of me. Is VF projected to get an AirRace for 2016? This is the second time I'm hearing about this rumor today.
  15. I'd like to be positive about valleyfair improving over the next few years but I feel like the only way they are really going to improve is by adding a new coaster. I mean sure, the waterpark extension will help a little, but if they get a new coaster, I'm sure ticket sales will skyrocket and the park will be packed just like it was when Wild Thing first opened. But at this point, we really have little evidence to show that a new coaster is in the works for 2016....I know its still a little early, but I think we would at least see a large chunk of land sought out for a new coaster. Also, I don't think any rides would be removed at this point.
  16. Hi everyone, I'm new to TPR and this forum but Valleyfair has always been my home park so I'm excited to be apart of this discussion. I'd be nice for VF to get a coaster that would bring the park more guests and some publicity. I mean Mamba at WOF is pretty much the same coaster as Wild Thing and Mamba got featured on Insane Coaster Wars. I was told that CF was going to put most of their funds into VF, MIA, or WOF although i'm finding that hard to believe with the rumored Dive coaster coming into CP. Sounds like the B&M invert will be our best bet for 2016. Something with the same amount of inverts like Raptor or Banshee.
