For people who are going to or who have gone to cedar point/kings island did you fly or did you drive? I've been trying to plan a weekend getaway to one or both parks. I would like people to answer to live in the twin cities. If I flew and rent a car I wouldn't want to drive too far. Why can't there be a closer airport to Sandusky?!

Can someone confirm what Valleyfair's policy is on bringing water bottles into the park? I couldn't find anything in the FAQ on their website but I overheard a guest the other day saying they wouldn't let them bring in their water bottle to refill. The bag check wasn't in operation that day.

Anyone going to the hot dish and hops on Sunday? I think pass holders should get the free sample card instead of paying

I don't believe the GM liking a sign would be a decent enough reason to spend money to put it back in the park. In my opinion, leaving it to rot in the back of the employee area is not a sure sign that it will be returning; if anything it shows it may be too much money to get it properly disposed since it is a neon sign. Did someone say the sign should be put back in the park? If I recall I think they said it should go to a museum.

Dang, I knew that months ago but I was planning on throwing out all kinds of impossible to decode hints about it to try to get you guys to guess what I knew. Ah well I guess I'll keep the other coaster a secret for now. bummer! Are you implying that this is true? A RMC strata?

Looks like some Mean Streak RMC renovations could be in store for CP, after seeing the ghost rider transformation at KBF it will be interesting to see what happens at other CF parks.

The new H20MG slides can be painful, plus you can't get off one of those things without a nose of water and a wedgie. If you ask me my favorite thing in the waterpark is Raging Rapids. Speaking of the waterpark, does anyone know if the travel channel special will air this summer? It didn't air last year, I watched all the episodes...

Does anyone have access or know where to find Valleyfair's attendance records by year? I'd be curious to see the trend since we got Renegade in 2007.

I agree that a new coaster won't be in for us in 2017. Its starting to sound like WOF might have a big announcement for 2017. They are placing their ride history up on wall like CP did for the Valravn announcement.

Can anyone verify what exactly these "Season Passholder Open Houses" are? I've seen numerous listings on the special events webpage. There are brief details but it would be nice to know if an employee had a bit more info!

I just read that report from Screamscape as well, it said that local fans were reporting rumors. Not sure who those local fans are exactly.

I saw in a facebook comment that a few people were saying they should bring the flume back as a throwback. If they did bring the flume back they should have some old photos for the ride theme showing the history of Valleyfair. Now that would be cool!!!

It makes me wonder if Dave has actually ever sat down and looked at this thread, I could only imagine the thoughts he would have.

Yeah I agree its pretty disappointing. Do we really need a place for live shows? At Cedar Point they got rid of their Amphitheater and I mean you would think the galaxy theater is a great spot for those. Also, the video on the Valleyfair page is private so I couldn't view it for their 40th.

I'm thinking we will be in for a surprise. I think its like garyman said...there could have been some sudden news about the permit in the back of the park where they decided to delay the announcement. The flyers are probably a sure thing, but there's a part of me that thinks something else is in the works.

The bird themed flying scooter is pretty on point, I don't see them naming the putting the frisbee with a bird theme. BUT we could be surprised with this. We were pretty left in the dark about Renegade and I have seen screamscape reports wrong even with reliable rumor sources.

The Coaster Camp out tickets should be discounted for season pass holders. $200 seems a little steep but its for a good cause.

An on site resort would be a terrible idea, it would be a lot of money and ValleyFair doesn't get nearly enough visitors (outside of MN). It makes sense for Cedar Point and Kings Island to have one because of who they are. If anyone from a far distance wants to visit, the Holiday Inn off Canterbury Road would suffice. I think even an RV park would be a stretch.

KD will give its last ride on Shockwave on August 9th, the 2nd CF coaster closure announcement. The excalibur announcement could be near if everything holds up!

Anyone know who the PR person is for Valleyfair? I'd be nice to see an updated blog post. Almost all the other CF parks have updated their blogs a couple times this year already...
