  1. Hello, I am the creator! I had never even thought of a double holding brake! I probably didn't because I was going for some realism when creating and brainstorming. Now that you mention it, that's a really neat thought! I might change it now! Also, due to demand from Instagram, I'll be uploading a POV tomorrow and will be sure to post a link to it when I do!
  2. Max Height: 263 feet tall Length: 5,290 feet long Max speed: I'll get back to you, doing some reprofiling of the pullout. Also, speak of the devil, as of now 2 Instagram pages have posted it. I am sorry to all who will be disappointed by the real layout.
  3. Yeah, like I'm gonna spend 3 hours in PS creating a super realistic logo. I mainly created that so you guys could see what I think Valravn could look like! I think a dive machine with this layout would be awesome, can't wait for the real one to be announced!!!
  4. #VALRAVN2016 This is just NL2 and some Photoshop... don't kill me please
  5. It's much like that of a Wing Coaster. The rotation of the trains, especially on Immelmann's are compensated by the slow speed. This causes brief zero-g's at the apex of the inversion, as the train rotates out of the element to reduce the amount of lateral gravitational forces. The same thing happens with GateKeeper's immelmann, it exits the element slower than other B&M models with Immelmann's to compensate for the lateral forces. Basically, the only problems the Hartline presents on these types of coasters in the roll rate. Note: People complain about Wing coasters being forceless/slow through the inversions, yet they don't know that if they were to have that "force" they'd have a broken neck. I rest my case. Thank you, this is an awesome post, I laughed when I read that.
  6. I love this idea! It still keeps an intense/intimidating name for the ride. King Cobra as others have suggested sounds like a wacky worm, not the most intense giga on the planet. Kilimanjaro, I like it! Also, I've never been to KD when the crypt has been down. And I have been plenty of times!
  7. I thought F325 had some awesome airtime, and plenty of it! First drop is floating for eternity. Transitions will make you pop out of your seat for a half second. The turnaround has crazy sideways airtime for a good while. The final airtime hills all have sustained flojector airtime which is very forceful and fun. Fury was amazing, I want to get back to Carowinds to ride it again next year for sure. On a side note: I transformed my Intimidator 232 statix model into a Fury 325 Statix! Let me know what you think! (Sorry for poor quality tablet camera) Fury 325 Statix!
  8. Honestly, Volcano has become pretty meh after riding so many times. After the launches it just meanders around repeating a roll that isn't all that exciting and then curves into mountain/brakes 30 seconds after launch. If I miss opening time and it has more than a 20 minutes wait, I'll skip it. It has just become not worth it for me. I305 on the other hand I would gladly wait a generous time for it, even though it never has a wait (SCORE!!). Seriously, graying out isn't uncomfortable, you just feel heavy and you can't see very well for like 3 seconds. No big deal. That airtime is great though!
  9. I think we've decided to buy 2 day admission because it is cheaper than single day + sunset admission. That way we can also enter the park earlier and get more rides in!
  10. Thanks foir the info. Any guesses on wait times? Would Skyrush have 30-45 minutes? Longer?
  11. Hey guys, I'm making My first ever trip out to HP from Virginia in August (14/15 Friday/Saturday). I know, not ideal timing, but I'll take what I can get! If I get there Friday, and want to go for sunset admission, what time does that start? Also for the Saturday (the 15th) what can I expect lines to be like? Anyone have tips and a game plan for attacking all coasters and hopefully getting a re ride or two? Thanks!!! Excited to experience Skyrush finally!!
  12. Nope, its great. Totally understandable to want to ride I305. Rode it 6 times yesterday. I have no idea what people are talking about when they say it lacks airtime. I got ejected in the back row over the first drop, first airtime hill, and floated through the transitions. Lots of airtime in the back, less in the front (obviously). I grayed out all 6 times I rode it, and it is normally a very short wait! Yesterday was walk on even during peak hours.
  13. ^ and ^^ and ^^^ I thought we were in the Kings Dominion discussion thread, but I guess not.
  14. I would like to add: because the pictures are from a far distance zoomed in, it makes things behind the brown track (red track) appear closer (and thus larger) to the brown track than what one would from a normal lens with a wider field of view. Source: Have been a photographer and videographer for 5 years now. See here what I am talking about. A zoom will make things behind the object look closer and bigger than their true size.
  15. The SkeiKra clone "Diving Coaster" at Happy Valley in China doesn't have straight ties either.
  16. Griffon cost 15.6M, this coaster will definitely be of similar size. Isn't the price from the Sandusky Register excluding excavation, construction cost? I believe that Griffon's reported price tag is the final price (the actual coaster but also construction, land moving). If that is correct, CP's dive machine will definitely be larger than Griffon. Also to all the naysayers about dive machines: I live close to BGW, and Griffon is absolutely awesome; it has a great mix of airtime and positive G's. Also, it is without a doubt the smoothest coaster I've ever been on. after Griffons drop it is completely boring. any enthusiast would know that "Any enthusiast" would know not to judge a roller coaster before they ride it, because often times a coaster will surprise you even if it doesn't look intimidating. I've been on it over 100 times and I never get bored of it. I'm sure you know all though, and your opinion is fact, so I've been defeated. A crushing loss, truly. i work at bgw and know firsthand about griffon, great first drop, boring after, simple as that, move on http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/opinion
  17. It really depends on the person. I marathoned I305 about two weeks back on a Thursday and had no problem hopping right back in the (station wait) line. That said, I greyed out every time--about a dozen rides. *As a disclaimer, don't go in expecting I305 to change your life and be the hands down best coaster in the world. Dont get me wrong--it's an incredible coaster, and is in my top 5. However, if you set your expectations TOO high (like this poster is trying to do), you will more than likely be disappointed. As with Millennium Force (and the B&M gigas), most are either in the camp of "top five material" or "its okay." Expect it to be a good coaster, and see what happens. It's a Maverick and El Toro on Steroids so you figure it out. To each their own. I'm a speed demon so that's why its the best coaster for me. The rush is for me. Its not for everyone, and i dont care for anyone but me While I305 is a fantastic coaster (and is my #2, was #1 for the past 5 years), I can't possibly imagine it being a superior mix of El Toro and Maverick, that is just a ridiculous statement which probably doesn't have a great foundation (have you even been on either of the coasters you compared it to?) Seriously, it is an awesome coaster, but stop making it sound like the end all, be all coaster.

  20. Yup, you can buy them all over the park at places with giant signs that say "Buy Fast Lane HERE!" or something to that effect. Go, and if you aren't satisfied with the lines, pickup a wrist band and marathon!
  21. Agree that some of the track at the plant is for the rumored CW coaster. Personally don't think CP will be receiving a dive coaster. Some "hints" (using the term quite loosely) about a dark rise coming to CP were revealed on this podcast. http://coasterradio.com I think its funny that you guys think this track is for a wing rider Seriously, this track is gigantic, no wing rider has ever had this size of track, but you guys can keep on dreaming . This is definitely for CP's dive machine.
  22. Now at the great value of 35 million dollars!!! LOL. But KD hasn't spent a lot of money on a giant project in recent years, so they can get an expensive investment in the next 2-3 years. Kings Dominion doesn't choose how much money they get to keep for themselves, otherwise we would have already had a coaster. This is evident by CF's rejection of KD's request in 2014 and 2015 for a new coaster. It isn't like KD gets to save their money, it goes to CF, who then decides where in the chain it needs to be invested.
