  1. I was checking out Six Flags Over Georgia's Justice League POVs and I noticed that while the screens and scenarios were pretty much the same (except for the extra Lex Luthor scene and the new barking dog silhouette effect), the character animations are a lot more fluid. Ragdoll physics were also added to Joker's henchman and the LexBots now explode as well. I was wondering, since both versions run on the same engine (Unreal Engine 4), is it a possibility that Six Flags St Louis' ride system would be upgraded to match the new versions?
  2. Wow! Those are some very nice photos! Thanks for sharing! Oh and cheers for the 1000th page! It's crazy we've got here so fast, just around this time two years ago we were only at 500.
  3. For those of you that were talking about how bad the old Chevy Show building looked and were wondering if it would be removed, it just got a new fresh of paint this past week to fit Spinsanity's color scheme. I have no confirmation but I'm assuming it's going to be used as extended queue for the ride, which also probably means Blackout won't be returning for this year's Fright Fest, but I think I speak for all of us when I say good riddance.
  4. The getting stuck just short of the end inside the station thing happened to the group right after us back in 2015 actually, (go back like 500 or so pages back if you want to see the picture, lol) so it's definitely not a new problem, but I'm super lucky I wasn't in the group that had to sit for 10 minutes, that's for sure. I wonder if there's some way to fix the issue of static electricity building up or whatever that hasn't been figured out yet, but it's so rare of an occurrence that it just might not be that much of a priority considering it's not putting people at risk, but it's definitely an inconvenience and annoying to the guests and the employees that have to deal with it when it does happen.
  5. It is in fact going to be a new building, in training they said it is being built in the grassy area between the tiki bar and the main food court. That's awesome! Definitely not what I expected. What's happening to the two Primo's Pizzeria locations then?
  6. ^^ they most likely won't build a new restaurant until Six Flags is happy with their food service options, which they're still in the process of changing, so it'll be a few years As to where the BBQ restaurant is going in Hurricane Harbor, Primo's Pizzeria's Hurricane Harbor location is no longer listed on the website or the app Neither is the one in the Illinois section of the park near Superman, making me wonder if they're replacing that one too
  7. I love Batman, it's always a must-ride, I just wish that it would go into a refurbishment so they can put the Batmobile back in Batman Plaza and add all of the fog effects/sound effects, etc back in so it'd be like it was when it first opened. It'd be such a cooler experience.
  8. Yeah, and I've heard from a friend who works at the park that 2017 is going to be the most expensive season in terms of refurbishment in decades, things are going to be a whole lot different by the end of the year.
  9. I would love it if was themed after Wonder Woman, and I think it's easy for them to just reuse the Lasso of Truth name that's already been used twice, plus we already have a Joker ride, eliminating the chance of it being named 'The Joker'. I also think that yellow track with a red white and blue train would look pretty great.
  10. New update from SFSTL on Facebook, seems like they will be posting updates frequently, which is nice.
  11. A Mardi Gras parade would be nice, but I for one would love to see the Glow in the Park parade return, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. You can easily see the old Glow in the Park parade storage from SkyScreamer anyways, right now it's just wasted space that could be filled with some upgraded versions of the past floats to at least get close to what other parks offer, and then you have a reason for guests to stay at nighttime, hence selling more concessions, light-up toys, etc. etc. Bottom line is it's a wasted opportunity to not have a night time show, heck, the park's zoning system for audio is still fully functional, it's basically a no-brainer. The crowds in the videos I've seen off to the sides of the street were huge, and that was 2009, when the company had just entered bankruptcy. Look at how many people showed up for Fright Fest last year and from what I see a bunch of them stay until at least 10:00, it's not like people aren't willing to spend a few more hours with their families to see a parade.
  12. ^ Good! I don't know why they were placed there in the first place, they kind of remind me of the facades at the Streets of America (RIP) at Disney's Hollywood Studios though in the way that they were supposed to look like a movie set of some sort, and those were taken down for the same reason, they kinda were just there and served pretty much no purpose, hence why they were removed.
  13. I don't know if anyone's talked about this yet, but I was hoping that with Spinsanity opening where the Chevy show building was that this little walkway right next to the Palace Arcade that's been walled off for years, (I believe it's just been used as employee access of some kind) could finally be opened up. Here's a little view from Google Maps of what I'm talking about:
  14. Yes, and if I remember correctly, it takes you into the Flash Pass line.
  15. So I only just now realized how extremely vague my post was earlier, sorry about that. I was away from home browsing the forum when I had the idea to post that, probably should have thought over it a little more beforehand. What I meant to ask was if there was anything being refurbished/repainted for this season. The only thing I know about/can remember is Pandemonium, so if anyone has anything to share, that'd be greatly appreciated. See what happens when you let your guard down on the internet, you get goofed on
  16. I dont think it was intended to be a joke against me, but still funny anyways
  17. Any news on things going on in the off season?
  18. So Fright Fest 2017 has been confirmed for September 29th - October 29th of this year. I wonder what's in store considering this will be the 30th anniversary of the event. No date confirmation on HITP yet, though.
  19. Well, the Cubs are officially the 2016 World Series Champions. Time to start speculating over that 2018 hyper now guys
  20. Wikipedia lists Log Flume as being rethemed to 'Steven Universe: Warp Pad Splash' for 2017. Is this just a rename or an actual retheming? I know that Steven Universe is immensely popular, so it'd be cool to see the latter.
  21. It's good to hear that they were able to get everyone out in no time at all. Love at First Fright is a spectacular show and it's even better this year than it has been all the years I've seen it. The cast this year are all extremely talented and clearly are having a blast doing what they do.
  22. I disagree with that strongly. I haven't been to WOF's haunt so I can't compare them as great as you'd be able to, but I went in all of the mazes last night at Fright Fest, with the exception of Blackout (I've ignored that one since FF 2013), and they all had very strong themes and stuck to those themes pretty well. The Slaughter House had jars and barrels of human parts, and all the actors were dressed and equipped with meat cleavers and machetes and such, Blind Fury had amazing theming with the rooms full of stuffed animals and dolls, the racks of makeshift toys made out of arms and legs, and the actors in that maze always fit the maze very well too, not to mention the awesome boiling room finale scene with the flamethrower. Camp Killamore was set up like different parts of a summer camp like the Killamore Theater, the bathroom, the different dormitory buildings, not to mention the finale in the Mess Hall. Then Night Terrors, the new one for this year had different rooms based off of different fears. The fear of death, fear of clowns, etc etc. I don't doubt that Worlds of Fun is ahead of Six Flags St Louis considering they aren't in a restructuring phase, but given the increasing amount of money the park is putting into it year after year I feel it's becoming a pretty great Halloween event.
  23. I suppose I could say the same about SFOT. In fairness, I must applaud the efforts of Steve Martindale and SFOT Management. They always make sure that our park receives something respectable each year. If it was a Star Flyer, then it would be the 400ft version. If it was flats, then we would get the best flats money could buy. We are still the only SF park to haved received a Zamperla Endeavor ride. And ours has twice the seating capacity of the one at Coney. Say what you will about our forth coming S&S 4d Free Fly. It least it's not a Larson Loop or used bumper cars. Hopefully, SFSTL management is planning for something big in the future. Who knows, maybe that RMC T-Rex Giga is on the horizon. To be fair, we've been hearing that "something big is coming" propaganda since like 2008. It's a forgotten link in the SF chain, dependent on goobers who flock there without any actual awareness that their park is sub-par in the whole SF chain. In other words, the company has no need to add anything of value to our park, because the toothless hillbillies think a boring, one-trick Disk-O or a horrible boomerang is something special. Face it. We're stuck with this crap. Get used to it. Better yet, plan some roadtrips to actual good parks.... Clearly you guys have not been paying attention to what HWFan and myself have been saying, so I will say it one more time. Does the park need a signiture coaster, yes. But the park needed general improvements more. Lets say that in 2013 instead of Boomerang we got a signiture coaster, not the greatest thing ever but an all around good ride. People start flocking to the park that season and see all the things that need painting and repair. Many of those people would leave with the opinion that the ride was good but the park looked terrible and wouldn't return till the next big thing is built which would be years. What they instead are doing is installing small additions to replace aging and unpopular rides and taking the remaining funds and funneling it into general park improvements. This phase should be wrapping up soon just in time for the parks 50th year. I see Spinsanity as a step forward, we have gotten past the point of every addition is a replacement for something and now we are expanding the portfolio. Compare the park today to were it was back in 2012 or 2013 and it is a significant improvement. There is a method to the madness and reasons for the way things are being done. Once you figure out the method you realize that it truly isn't madness at all, but logic. You obviously haven't been around the park that long as some of us others have, we've been hearing about park improvements for OVER A DECADE and it isn't happening, they have done more than they used to do, but no where CLOSE to what theyve needed to be. As long as they keep doing small park improvements and not large ones, theyll never catch up and theyll always be 3 steps behind. Im not being negative, Im being realistic in the sense that Ive been watching it happen for well over a decade. Ask any maintenance staff, youll see.... Until they invest at MINIMUM of 4-6 million into improvements and hire a ton of contractors to help the full time maintenance staff, the park will continue to be be a semi polished turd. Except they HAVE done pretty huge things, I don't know why you insist on being so argumentative with someone who works at the park and sees what happens and how things function from a day-to-day basis. To be honest I'm getting really sick and tired of everyone constantly shooting down any actual reason and fairness on this forum and trying to counter it with a bunch of muddled nonsense. Last year they renovated the entire freaking Palace Theater, including the whole interior and exterior, which was a HUGE investment and needed to be done, and just this season they opened up a brand new restaurant where one hadn't existed for years, repainted the facade by Batman, the facade for The Boss, they're retheming Pandemonium now, there was even more theming added to Thunder River, more and more landscaping jobs are being created every year, this year having the most, and yet people like you are most likely going to keep saying that they don't invest crap into the park, give me a break. And you wonder why HWFan keeps his distance from this forum now. now I'LL be the one who says PAY ATTENTION to CHRISGRASLIE...... what does the very first line of my last message say?..... do you think HWfan is the ONLY person on here that works at the park? Do you think HWFan is the only one who speaks with management?.... if you've read these forums much, youll see that he is NOT the only one who works at the park or has very close association and business with it. SOOOO, Ill say again my first line for you in case you missed it.... "You obviously haven't been around the park that long as some of us others have, we've been hearing about park improvements for OVER A DECADE and it isn't happening, they have done more than they used to do, but no where CLOSE to what theyve needed to be." I even said that YES, they HAVE been making improvements, but theyre on pace to NEVER CATCH UP!...... just reread my last post again so that it can sink in fully please. Sorry for coming off so harsh, it just really ticks me off when people run their mouths without reading or knowing what theyre talking about!!! I know HWFan isn't the only one on here who works at the park, obviously I'm not that stupid. I use him as an example because for a while he was the guy that kept this forum from spiraling into madness, and even he's given up on replying to the crap people say on here. I talk to other employees other than him that pretty much all have the same amount of frustration with this forum, which is exactly the reason why I respond to things the way that I do, because I've gotten tired of it as well. What people like you need to understand is that they're not going as slowly as you think. It's great that you can acknowledge they're doing more things than they used to do, but those things aren't written on a little half sheet of paper with 3 bullet points. There was only so much money they could put into it before, but this year and last year is when it's started to really ramp up, and you're going to see even more in 2017. There's a clear goal in place for where they want to be, and as more money goes into improvements and refurbishments, they'll get there within the next few seasons. I feel as if I'm typing the same stuff over and over, I really just wish everyone would see the big picture so I can stop repeating myself, it's not just me that's trying to get this message across. As someone that knows a lot of the actual big picture of the park, it doesn't quite line up with your version of the big picture... So what you've heard differs from what me and TNT have been posting about and what a bunch of other employees have told me and now makes everything we've said entirely invalid.
