  1. I think I lost brain cells reading that. Honestly. First of all, you can still get over a 10-12 foot fence, it may be a bit harder, but it is simply impractical to put up 12 foot fences around all the rides. When I see a 6 foot fence, I know to stay out. Second, how do you not think, "This ride can't kill me, it doesn't get that close to the ground," when you ride it, and at least for me, I contently pick my feet up because I feel like I am going to hit the ground with them. Do we really need signs in front of a giant metal contraption, with trains that move upwards of 60 mph, saying it might kill you if you go in the restricted area? NO. It should be obvious. There shouldn't need to be signs there at all, but there is now anyways. "RESTRICTED AREA- KEEP OUT" should be more then enough to keep people out. People who stick up for the stupidity of humanity make me almost as angry as the stupidity of humanity.
  2. I have been working on small 3D printed desktop models, and have them up for sale on Shapeways.com. I posted the models in the Cad Ride models topic under the Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness section. I was wondering if it is OK for me to post them in their respective park topics in the Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! section, and maybe even linked them to the page where I am selling them. I read through the rules for posting, and did not see anything against it, I just want to check in with you to make sure that it is allowed! Thanks!
  3. Doing real math, if the inversion takes the same proportion of SheiKra, the coaster will need to be 250 ft. tall, giving it an inversion of 181.25 feet.
  4. I just made up a desktop model of MF's hill, and am thinking of putting up if someone wants to buy the 3D model of it. Its about a foot long and 7 in tall.
  5. As a mechanical engineering student, I can confirm that it only takes 2 uses of the Pythagorean theorem to accurately recreate a model of a roller coaster from two single pieces of track.
  6. ^^ I took you seriously for about 3 seconds. Then I realized how stupid I am for taking you seriously for about 3 seconds.
  7. ^All the track is being placed outside of the park at Breakers Express, the same place where Maverick's track was stored.
  8. I went just 2 weeks ago, for about an hour. Lines were not bad, trap doors and body slides were 1-2 person waits. Tube slides were about 6 group waits. But it was about 68, so it was not that warm. The trap door slides are kinda off to the side, so a lot of people don't make it over there.
  9. Is "Slinky Dog Roller Coaster" the final name for this? It seams a little to straight forward to me...
  10. So once all the track arrives, I'm sure someone will attempt to piece it all together and confirm a layout. With all the spine size variations and such, it can't be that hard can it? Maybe I'll try to do it. Actually, probably not.
  11. Nothing is really a standout, not like a Banshee or Millennium. I love Goliath at night, so that is a must. Also, I recommend Raging Bull, the twister section in the dark is pretty fun. Everything else is pretty standard.
  12. And even with Tempesto, BGW was just avoiding the topic all together. CP has acknowledged that they are making an announcement, not just saying, "What construction?"
  13. Maybe they want to give us a massive Christmas gift, in the form of a sparkly new burnt orange and blue Dive Coaster layout
  14. Valravn is a awesome name. I don't understand the hate for it.
  15. Stupid can not be contained. This has nothing to do with the fencing, or anything. It has to do with the stupid that climbed in. The park could do absolutely nothing in this situation. Prayers to the family and everyone involved, however if you are that stupid to climb a fence to get your beloved iPhone, then you need to re-evaluate your values.
  16. I was extremely worried that after the Smiler accident earlier in the year, even though it was in Europe, that this would be getting more bad press. I am extremely relieved to see that the media is handling this the way it should be handled.
  17. I've had a reoccurring lucid dream of riding Maverick, and at the apex of the 95 degree drop, I fly out of the back seat. Right before I hit the ground, I wake up, flailing my arms and legs all over the place. I've had it enough that I just find it funny now, and I flail around, and then laugh to myself and go back to sleep.
  18. ^That would just be a coding change. They do that to comply with the restrictions on wind. If they would change the policy, they could easily change the code.
  19. Finished the model, going to see if I can chop it up enough into enough pieces to print one, probably about a foot and a half tall. I will probably have to adjust all the tolerances, and that will come later.
  20. ^Quick question, and it might require an obvious response, but how did you get the cross ties to curve around the loop like that? I keep using curve pattern, and it just keeps them all parallel.
  21. I use Solidworks, at the moment I have a summer job as a designer at a company, so I have unlimited use to it on my laptop, which is awesome. I already 3D printed a section of inverted track (B and M) from a corkscrew.
