Seems like a perfect start to what looks to be an awesome trip! I'm assuming you guys will be in Kansas City well before August 21? Would've been a cool end to the trip to be right in path of the total solar eclipse.

Great report! If you don't feel nostalgia or the "magic" at Disney than I can completely understand why you'd prefer Universal. There's just something about the atmosphere at the Disney Resort that is at another level to me, and is especially noticeable when visiting them back to back. But it's probably a little easier to pack more quality rides into one day at Universal compared to the Disney Resort. Enough of that tho, cause it really doesn't matter they're both great for their own reasons. Being from New York I completely agree with your assessment of smaller regional airports haha. Spot on. Looking forward to more!

That's good to hear on one hand. But on the other, I'm looking to make a trip to LC later this year and it sucks knowing there's only a 50/50 chance that the main reason for driving up there will be enjoyable. New Wildcat and Phobia look like great additions, but even more so than what is happening on that new plot of land I am interested whether they can get Boulder Dash's issues ironed out.

The ride and entire area look great. Excited to see the capacity that they will be able to run this at. Should be the perfect people eater that this park will need as the crowds start flocking.

I'm planning a trip the second weekend of May and I was wondering if anyone knew what the lines for some of the classic rides like Hulk, Dragons, Spiderman, Simpsons, Mummy and others are usually like. Do some of them get up over an hour? I understand some of the newer rides, especially Harry Potter, will have lines. I'm just trying to decide if it's worth staying at one of the Deluxe resorts to get the express pass or if I can get everything done in two days just staying at Cabana Bay. Thanks for any help
