A small part of the (crumbling) parking lot is being repaved. Fixed most of the drinking fountains. With this new off season schedule, nearly every ride is a walk on during the week. Most crews don't care about unlimited re-rides, as long as there is no one in the queue, or you fill in empty seats. Marathon Mountain is now a reality! Lex was stuck high today w/guests for an unusual amount of time. Air compressor issue. Intermittent track work on Twisted. Vertigo is one of the new games. More changes coming in that area by June. If you haven't been lately, this is an incredible time to visit the magical mountain. You can ride a collection of the best thrill rides in the world, with basically no wait times.

A great time to visit Six Flags! Today you could marathon just about anything. The only ride with a notable wait was TNR at about 10-15 minutes. They were just partially filling the trains. Also, Goliath is only running one train, but they would let you fill in any vacant seats for a re-ride. Mostly older, chill ride ops. I think we had about 25 rides in 3 hours. Riding X2 and coming back to a vacant queue is still somewhat surreal. My Ohio friend’s head was about to explode after so many rides, so we finally had to quit. Riddler’s paint job looks sharp and is in the final stages. Also, Justice League is officially in alpha testing! Say what you want, but it’s still a pretty cool addition to the park. At the very least the air conditioning in that building is fantastic Had a hard time finding parking Yolo Empty Plaza Twisted Hello? Why not Is this thing on? The poor Viper crew was begging for someone... anyone...

The park was dead today. Like, dead dead for such a beautiful perfect weather day. Just about everything was walk-on or re-ride, except TNR. Seemed like Twisted Colossus was having a bit of a tough day, as we saw it evacuated twice from the lift, and also the restraints in the station would absolutely not release for one poor train. However, they got it back up by mid-afternoon. An excellent week to visit before the spring break onslaught. Staffing levels and attitudes seemed appropriate. Park was very clean. This was actually the most fun I've had there in a long time. Did I mention you should go? Disclaimer, I do work occasionally at the park as a technical subcontractor so I'm slightly biased

One thing that surprises me about SFMM is how few on-ride cameras they have. Our company specializes in installing on-ride CCTV systems; I personally have worked on two systems for SFMM. We did one of the newest rides, and one of the older rides. I don’t mean the photos you buy at the end, I mean surveillance cameras. They have the front gate entry/exit areas and shops completely plastered with cameras, but not so much covering what happens on the rides 24/7. I was thinking about this today because the Alton Towers Smiler accident CCTV was released and it seems like they had pretty solid footage of the crash from internal cameras. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/alton-towers-smiler-rollercoaster-crash-8893176

I can confirm to you that there are significant discussions going on at the highest levels of SF and Samsung management about whether this is working out, both at TNR as well as other parks with the new VR. Unfortunately, there is a contract with Samsung, so it's not going to disappear in 2016, but you may see this VR going away in 2017 based on what I'm hearing. Which will greatly increase capacity. Additionally, although I can't speak for other SF parks, I know there are 2 Samsung technicians currently assigned strictly to the magical mountain. They are working behind the scenes both on and off-site, using analytics and examining broken headsets, working on improving the technology side of it. In theory, the VR idea is cool, but you can imagine the beating the phones and headsets are taking. Samsung is embarrassed about how half-ass the system is working since their name is plastered all over the parks and they are trying to do better. The biggest problem was that due to this being a completely new concept, they couldn't really do large scale testing of the whole system until people actually used them for extended periods of time. I'll let you know if I hear any more updates, but rest assured the SF management is well-aware of what's going on.

I'm down! We went today but the lines were awful as expected. Also, this may not be news to anyone here, but we found out something interesting today. Even if you have the basic Dining Pass which cuts off at 3pm for lunch, if you are already in the line and get up to the counter at say... 3:09p they will still honor it. I thought we were screwed after a 25 minute wait in line at Wascal's; I can't even explain how slow the staff and line were moving, and I was about to raise hell if denied but he simply scanned it and off we went. There must be some kind of a grace period.... anyone else had this experience?

i saw a pic of someones chop six food from today. sorry, not much help. Today was the first day they had the "new" Chop Six in the dining pass computer system. The hours are 11:30-3:30 for lunch and 4:30-7:30 for dinner *subject to change. The items offered as part of the dining pass are clearly identified on the (temporarily until next week) zip-tied menu, as a previous poster noted.

Saw this botched towing job as we were leaving today. The tow truck driver also kept standing on someone else's car after hitting it, and you can see the van started to come off his truck. I watched and sure enough, he took off without leaving a note on the car he hit (he broke their headlight and scraped it up pretty good). I contacted security and they reached out to the owner. She called to thank me and it turned out to be two cute females! misjudged that one Sure just use someone's car as a ladder See ya later. Thanks for leaving a note a-hole Finally got it. after damaging two , especially the underbody of the van one he was towing when he opens the door he's like oh SHIITE Get. Off. My. Hood. Fat. Man.
