  1. Google satellite images of the park are 2015. Also, they wouldn't put them inside the PAC, the greenness of the grass suggests its in season, etc.
  2. They're somewhere else on the property. They're on a plot straight across Allegany Road. Negative, the track is across the street, the trains are by the farmhouse that's near the PAC.
  3. They are neither. They are "bike racks" aka crowd control rails.
  4. Last years addition, and the year prior was mid January. The January meeting announcement for the county will likely have it on their agenda before any official announcement is made. Last year was January 14th to be exact. February at the latest.
  5. I was poking around tonight and I found this interesting. The amount of land owned by Darien Lake is astounding (outlined in green). However as you can see much of it doesn't make sense for development probably in our lifetimes.
  6. And dont expect anything until Feb/March. Thats usually when they announce.
  7. I'm not seeing a new name for the water park on the website. I must be missing it, mind pointing it out? Big Kahuna's
  8. I think it could make a world of difference. CNL's REIT had matured and they were in the liquidation/exit phase, so it didn't really make sense for them to invest in the property so close to a sale. EPR just acquired the park, and will hopefully invest in marketable capital to increase the park's value. Solid point... when CNL first came in, we got Motocoaster, BlastOff, Boardwalk, Rowdy's Ridge, Splashtown, etc. and re-paints on Boomerang, Viper, Giant Wheel and The Waterslide Complex That Shall Not Be Named.
  9. I dont know if i'd expect any major changes this year, but you never know.
  10. http://buffalonews.com/2016/11/03/darien-lake-sold/ Darien Lake changes hands By Samantha Christmann Published 4:47 p.m. November 3, 2016 Updated 2 hours ago Darien Lake theme park has been sold, but it's not yet clear what that means for park patrons. EPR Properties has entered into an agreement to buy a bundle of recreational properties from CNL Lifestyle Properties which includes the Genesee County theme park. EPR Properties is a publicly-traded, Missouri-based real estate investment trust. CNL Lifestyle Properties is a real estate investment fund based in Orlando. Just what changes might be in store for the theme park are anybody's guess because the company that bought the park is not yet talking. Papers filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission Wednesday show that EPR Properties bought Northstar California Ski Resort near Lake Tahoe, a portfolio of 15 waterparks and amusement parks and five small family entertainment centers from CNL Lifestyle Properties for $456 million. ADVERTISEMENT Last year, CNL Lifestyle Properties announced that it had lost nearly a quarter of its share value in 2014. In 2015, it specifically mentioned poor performance at Darien Lake in its letter to shareholders, citing "weather and operational challenges." Darien lake had reported a 33 percent drop in earnings, down to $3.7 million from $5.6 million the year before. At that time, CNL announced it had gotten rid of Herschend Family Entertainment and installed Premier Parks LLC to run the day-to-day operations at the park. The company also announced it would phase out the CNL Lifestyle fund, which holds theme parks and golf resorts among other facilities, and seek a buyer for any remaining assets. Gregory Silvers, president and CEO of EPR properties, said in a statement that he doesn't expect the acquisition to be immediately profitable, but said it will diversify the company's profile with "proven, durable assets" that allign with positive economic trends. Stephen H. Mauldin, CEO of CNL Lifestyle Properties, said he is proud of the unique, long-established properties he had built. "We believe this transaction is the best fit for selling the remaining properties in our portfolio as we complete our exit strategy to provide liquidity to our shareholders," he said. Darien Lake is CNL's largest theme park. Representatives for EPR Properties declined to comment on their plans for the park. Neither Darien Lake nor CNL Lifestyle Properties could be reached for comment. email: schristmann@buffnews.com
  11. Well, everyone has been waiting for CNL to be gone, now we wait to see if the grass really is greener.
  12. I got it but addressed to my 4 yr old son. In the past Ive gotten them whenever we camp, so I figured it was that again.
  13. I was talking about MFI acquisition. As far as Premier, here you go: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_Parks,_LLC
  14. The acquisition has been done for a while now if thats what youre asking.
  15. They posted on Facebook that theyre going to have season long campsites available this year...
  16. Camping discount for season pass holders are really good. We camped 4 times this year.
  17. Season pass price went up again... $69.99 this year
  18. You could be right, I thought I saw Intamin on the plaque but I might be mixing it up with Shipwreck Falls, which is definitely Intamin.
  19. Grizzly Run had water in it but no current flow. I saw it from the kiddie coaster queue. The ride op at the kiddie coaster said they were considering opening Thunder Rapids and he might have to go work it, but they never did. He said they don't drain them until October.
  20. They can find a way, they just have to spend the money. The "main connector" would be irrelevant if they added a new light system. I don't recall there being an issue with Rolling Thunder's lights? Not surprising. This is opinion. I don't see it happening without something wet replacing it. Removing Thunder Rapids would only add handicapped parking. Both are very popular and would not be a good look for the park. They are also pretty simple mechanically if you think about it, and both are made by Intamin so its not like there's no place to get parts from. I would say so... there's a lot involved, especially with Mind Eraser and ROS being over the water. That's probably why PARC only painted Boomerang and Viper.
