  1. Those slide pieces look ridiculously skinny and small compared to the support structure. It really shows how massive and tall this tower complex is. How exciting!
  2. Looks like roofing on the new buildings is done as well.
  3. Shhhh....Valleyfair might be interested in the car ride Looking at Google Maps, it appears Mad Mouse could fit comfortably on the site of the games behind The Wave. Mad Mouse's popularity would really activate that midway area while freeing up its old site for another waterpark expansion. If they really are considering taking out those games, I think that is a strong possibility.
  4. Do we know of any rides that they may have in storage? Otherwise I suspect that we may see some of the flat rides being removed from Cedar Point head our way.
  5. That's a great point, the park does still have areas that can be improved upon. And if they really are considering removing the games behind The Wave, we might just see a year of strategic removals or things moved around within the park to make way for the future additions. All of which is still good news.
  6. 2016 may not be a coaster year...maybe they'll really concentrate on the waterpark again, and build a custom slide package to maximize the space etc., and save the coaster for 2017. It would still be a great addition... and in terms of boosting a waterpark, doesn't a great slide package=a great rollercoaster?
  7. RMC delivers a great bang for any park's buck. Valleyfair would be a better park with one for sure, especially if it would have a couple inversions. We'd have a very diverse wooden coaster selection then. But you're 100% right, we're in need of new steel.
  8. Shut up and take my money, I must ride Primal: Scream of the Jungle!
  9. That's a great point, honestly. As a non-passholder, those kinds of cross-promotional deals aren't made known on the website without a login.
  10. They tend to satirize in an outlandish, immediately recognizable and over-the-top style from what I've seen, and it's usually dreadfully unfunny. This feels less satirical and more deliberate, laying breadcrumbs that are just vague enough. I can also be completely wrong. Only time can truly tell. In the meantime you'll have to excuse my clearly unwarranted mid-winter hope. Or just get off your high horse and lighten up, we're talking about an amusement park here. Key word being AMUSEMENT. It's fun to speculate and try to find connections, real or otherwise. And about Valleyfairzone, why wouldn't Valleyfair tap into the fansites to tease the community? They just started a blog, which was honestly a shock for me. The park is clearly intending to use the web more fully, and fansite connection is a great place to start. The fansites can circulate word about the blog, drop hints that the park wants dropped "unofficially" to create buzz that fans then spread across the market area for free... this is a new age of digital publicity for the park and they're finally taking the reins. It would be stupid of them to not use the fansites.
  11. What about that photo of the hockey arena with the hashtag #GoWild? It's kind of obvious that there's a deliberate theme in these teasing tweets. Something jungle, something rumble, #GoWild...they do know something I believe.
  12. Jungle...the Dinos Alive area potentially? Or a new jungle-themed dark ride somewhere...or a new jungle-themed coaster in the back of the park, an invert called Rex (or something else that conjures the image of "heavy")...or a new jungle-themed Soak City expansion. Those are the possibilities coming to my mind immediately. Rumblings... that makes me think of a wooden coaster more than an invert. Perhaps we get an RMC in the back of the park...? Call it the Panther or Puma or something "jungle" like that. Or they're referring to the rumblings of the guests complaining about Wild Thing, and it's getting new trains in 2016 along with a jungle-themed makeover. Or... the rumble of gokarts... no amusement park is without gokarts, not even SFGA and their land situation is as bad as ours... Gokarts in Dinos Alive. Or we just get a flat/old ride from another Cedar Fair park and name it Tiki Twirl. Whatever it is, getting hints out this early suggests we may see visible site prep during the operating year.
  13. Good point! I thought the magic show was moving to Worlds of Fun, but that's only for Haunt weekends.
  14. Putting Gatekeeper on the Fast Lane and FL+ makes those services look like a better bargain and will thus sell more of them. Remember the motivation is making money, so putting a coaster on FL but not FL+ reduces the perceived value of FL+.
  15. The concert series will probably use the Galaxy Theater space then.
  16. It's about time! This is the first mention of the concert series that I've heard of. Do you suppose that this means the amphitheater will finally be put to use again?
  17. What do you suppose those square holes around the splash pad are for? Additional water features? Lights? Planters?
  18. I would hope Valleyfair reps have promotional deals with area hotels to bring in guests who may not know of the park beforehand. Oftentimes hotels will have their own shuttles so Valleyfair wouldn't even have to handle it. It might help the park expand its reach and get its name out there beyond the region.
  19. They'll figure out a way to fix that most likely, I bet. Unless the Cedar Point hotels' profits and park profits are lumped together, in which case CW would need hotels to match Point's levels. How far is Valleyfair from the nearest hotel? Are there shuttles to/from the park to hotels, airport and MoA?
  20. That's right! I totally forgot about that. Doesn't CW's attendance exceed Cedar Point's?
  21. The chain has had bigger investments to make, though. That hotel renovation alone is 60 million at least, not counting the huge coasters being built simultaneously. I expect once the renovations are done investments in other parks will be able to accelerate as more capital is freed up.
  22. I'd prefer it in the turnaround most, it would be so RCT and reminiscent of California's Great America with Goldstriker and the observation tower.
  23. I found this video proves people find that sign redundant, so no, you and I are certainly not alone. I also agree with a lot of his observations.
  24. I think that the entrance is nice as is for now (I'd like more water features, but that's me). The areas immediately after it could use work. The midway from the carousel to Monster, and the midway/amphitheatre area are more important to focus on in my opinion. Cedar Fair has been doing a lot of midway remodeling, which is promising. I'd like to see them remove that "Welcome to Valleyfair" sign blocking the carousel--it's redundant after you pass under like 3 Valleyfair signs to get to that point. I don't see a coaster flying over the entrance until Dinos leaves, so 2020ish, but it would be pretty cool.
  25. I agree with this. SFGA removed their shoot-the-chutes and it wasn't missed. But SFGA also has two log flumes and a river rapids. If Valleyfair ever does remove The Wave, then I hope that a new water ride is part of a near-future package in some way.
