  1. It's strange that the Twin Cities have gone so long without getting serious waterpark investments. Maybe this will turn into a local waterpark arms race.
  2. Raging Bull is enjoyable, but looks more intense than it is (probably the fault of my own pumping it up in my head). Batman is the exact opposite for me. A wonderful surprise. My favorite ride in the park is definitely Whizzer, it's a great ride every time. Haven't been on Goliath yet, hoping to go next year though. Viper is surprisingly exciting as well. Am looking forward to the park restoring its historical rides and maintaining its classic entrance plaza area. I have a question: since the park is tightly packed and generally landlocked, this means any addition may require rides to be removed. But I was scoping out Google Maps and noticed that large pond-like area near Superman. Would it be possible for the park to build a hypercoaster along their access road that could use that pond space, or does it serve more as a buffer to keep park noise out of the nearby neighborhoods? Does the park have any claim to that land? I would love to see something Intamin if there's any possibility, but I am probably dreaming. Also, future water park expansions will probably eat up the parking lot, right? Any chance they may invest in a parking structure in the future?
  3. I just noticed that you can walk around Valleyfair on Google Maps. It's kind of fun using it to walk around Challenge Park pre-Route 76 update.
  4. Very cool! Looking forward to seeing more progress every possible day.
  5. Look at Kings Island: Banshee, Bat, and Invertigo all in the Action Zone with a Vekoma junior invert a stone's throw away. And then over at Dorney Park, Stinger and Possessed are practically interlocking, with Talon within spitting distance. And your point being what now? It was a question on others' thoughts, not necessarily a point. But if I had to make one, it's usually better to have a park's best coasters far from the entrance to attract people deeper into the park. The front of the park is generally not where you want your guests hanging out. It makes it too easy for them to leave and get lunch from their cars, etc. They spend less money. My 'point', I guess, is that while a coaster over the entrance would rock, Valleyfair does need a real anchor in the back. I also went on to say that if they put an invert over the entrance and are planning something even bigger at the back (which is likely, they are of course the pro's) that would be perfect and I'm concerned for nothing.
  6. I agree, the parking lot looks very ghetto, for lack of a better word.
  7. Has anyone else noticed how the park seems to be phasing in as areas are redone? Looking from Google Maps, you can see the newer pavement has a nicer look, not blacktop or asphalt. There are few areas of the park left that need to be repaved to make the whole park cohesive as far as the paths go. Could indicate areas that may all be worked on in large phases, like how Planet Snoopy was done. For instance, if a new coaster is put in the front of the park, the areas in asphalt from High Roller's turnaround down to the carousel may all be done at once as part of a large area facelift.
  8. If Valleyfair does wind up getting a roller coaster flying over the entrance, would the entrance itself will undergo a massive redesign, or would they be able to preserve the charm of the current structures? I'm also wondering on if having two inverts so visible from the entrance would be odd. Would it look to the GP like too much of the same thing? I'd love an invert further back in the park to make the walk worth it. Renegade is great and all, but there's nothing else anchoring that far back part of the park. Of course, an Intimidator 305-like coaster in Excalibur's plot and an invert over the entrance would be wonderful too.
  9. I would love to see a roller coaster named Valkyrie at Valleyfair. It could tie in some Norse mythology without screaming "Vikings". Hi everyone, I'm new here.
