  1. You would be correct sir, from my understanding B&M has a hand in these Giovanola coasters since, after all, it is Bolliger and Mabillard's track design. Giovanola kept their design even after they went and formed their own company. *Sigh* I wish someone at Six Flags Corp would inform the many investors of our park that we should build a second station for Titan, a loading and unloading...I've always wondered why more rides aren't built with this intention on purpose.
  2. Yeah, our park I feel is in need of a good makeover, some buildings need new paint, the old stunt show arena is looking old for sure. There's some great ideas that many of us can come up with for the park, but we're not qualified as enthusiasts who pay attention to detail.
  3. But in some good news, if you've been to the park recently, have you all noticed Titan running really well? I've gone 4 times in the last few weeks just to get some rides on it and TG (assuming ride ops aren't making the line a mile long) and it's been running faster and producing more G's then I've experienced in a while on it. I've been pleasantly happy with my rides on Titan lately, even though I ride it like 50 times a year.
  4. I didn't mind this ride, but if it had a long line, I was happy to skip it. Those restraints were not comfortable at all! I really am hoping and praying that our park blows up the arena where the old stunt shows used to be, and even maybe scrap the music arena and build some flat rides along with a new major roller coaster in that area. Our park is getting a good dark ride, which I'm happy about, but, we REALLY need some more exciting flat rides. I enjoy Holiday in the Park, but time like last year when TG was down from the accident, Shockwave was down needing that part from over-seas, and during HiTP when Batman and Mr. Freeze close every year, the park lacks some punch.
  5. Yes, 60 seconds, but I can't remember a time even before the seat belts that they dispatched a train by 60 seconds lol Granted, if they had some no articles allowed on the ride and forced you to use lockers, they'd be quicker. Honestly though, after seeing Cedar Point crews handle guests with articles to put in bins and they ran 3 trains without stack-outs in September, then I'm not convinced they are going their fastest.
  6. Welcome! Yes, Batman and Mr. Freeze are closed until the start of the 2015 season for their rehab. I wouldn't anticipate much of the GP except others may have the same idea as you from out of town. Everything else is open, the Sky Screamer is a different thrill. I've gone on it about 5 or 6 times and I still get an uneasy feeling of thrill on it. Superman also is a fun must do. By get as many rides as you can on Texas Giant and Titan as the ride operators unfortunately can be a tad slow. Shockwave is a good way to get a few loops in your life, and Pandemonium for a ''Mouse" coaster is pretty fun with how the car rotates 360 degrees. The park sadly lacks a bit of punch when major rides are down. But there should be plenty enough to do to have an enjoyable day. Hopefully it gets dark quickly enough before closing as they did do a good job on Christmas lights this year! Good luck to your team against Houston!
  7. About 3 minutes or so, Titan and Texas Giant both, they were waiting until the train that was out came back and hit the final brake runs. But often times they still weren't ready to send the now loaded train out. *Sigh* one can only hope they manage to get better someday.
  8. Went back tonight, happy they did get rid of the assigned seating on Texas Giant, Titan was a walk on ALL night...it was wonderful. The cool and threat of rain I guess kept people away...but of course, the ride ops failed on Texas Giant as it was a huge line. The park really was almost like a ghost town, but then I found them all in line for Giant lol Everything else though was pretty much a walk on tonight.
  9. Indeed, when I made my first trip to Cedar Point this season, I was surprised at the ability to be near some of the rides, like Corkscrew and Dragster and Millennium Force. My home park is SFOT, NOTHING is near a pathway except the turn out of the station on the Texas Giant, otherwise all the rides are away from the public, frankly...I enjoyed being up and close with them.
  10. Hallelujah! That's what was confusing to me, was the place was dead this past Sunday when I was there. But, good to know I can enjoy some re-rides quickly again this Sunday. Thanks for the update!
  11. Good to see the Red train is back out there, I see the honky device has been moved for both seats lol. Did they still do the assigned seating? Or did they actually let you pick your spot?
  12. Oh trust me, I was all about defending the ride and Six Flags when the accident happened, It's obvious what happened. They actually did end up pulling the red train off on Sunday about an hour after all this happened and just ran only the blue the rest of the evening. But yes, I fully believe as well that nothing was wrong with the restraint. This was just such a weird device over it that would draw attention even from seasoned roller coaster riders.
  13. I understand completely, it sounds bad because this is essentially talking with text. I wasn't heckling the person. I genuinely felt bad for the kid that Six Flags basically tossed them to the wolves of directing traffic where it didn't need to be directed. I never once told the employee to not be so rude, I didn't say the employee was being rude either when I called Six Flags because I understand that's a crappy position to have to do is herd people like that. But when you can clearly see that your method is pissing off a family of 5 people with 3 kids and you're literally walking them to a place in line like we're back in elementary school with our fingers over our mouth to indicate ''be quiet'' like we used to, you're going to rub A LOT of people the wrong way. As a enthusiast who grew up at SFOT before finally being old enough to rent a car this year to travel to other parks. I only desire to see these idiotic methods removed, instead of these chemistry experiments on ride operations every season, and to see Titan average more than 600 people per hour...SFOT is supposed to be one of the flagship parks in the chain. It needs to get it's act together! It starts with management getting it's employees to be more productive by not doing the things they're having them do.
  14. Folks in line who visit the park regularly were asking over and over why such a device? And were asking others in line for the knowledge, I'm not gonna lie and say I don't know when I did know. I can't stand people who blatantly lie in a business that safety is a priority. I know the ride is safe, but they shouldn't make it THAT obvious, just rope off that row and leave it at that. They were having single riders sit next to it and you know that had to make them uncomfortable. Personally since the lawsuit has now been settled as over a month ago, the train hadn't ran all season until fright fest this year, it should be cleared and double cleared and triple cleared to use if they're using the train.
  15. If the teenager wasn't being such a smart ass to myself before I ever said anything, my fiancee and the many people in line right there next to us and was taught to not lie to people and show customer service skills, then maybe we wouldn't have had to voice our opinions. Ever think of that? You don't ever try and control your customers like we're cattle and prodding us to where we don't want to go with a bad tone of voice. And you don't EVER say a restraint isn't working out loud in front of about 20 people that can hear you. That's what you wanna defend? Be my guest!
  16. You know the small queue line that leads to the gates? They keep you back in that line and just simply say "Take an open area only!" so if you want the second row, but it's got 2 people in it, you have to go somewhere else with no exception. They only allow the number of people one train can hold to enter the gated area, so the gated queue area stays empty and everyone stays lined up in the ''line'' and it's really messy. It's one of those policies that will be rebuked real quick I imagine.
  17. This looks like a great ride, I'll be flying to ride this in the upcoming season. All I can say is though about Millennium Force, when I rode it for the first time, it was one of the greatest rides I've ever ridden. And if this is the one that FINALLY dethrones it, some people believe it already has, but to the general mass it's still the best, the fact it would take 15 years to dethrone it, it'll still be the King in my book because of how long it's lasted as the best.
  18. I remember the jump on while the train was slowly moving method. They'd never dare do that now with the accident. The best part about Sunday was the Red train was out since the black train is in for rehab. There was this huge padlock device like you'd put on a car steering wheel so no one will steal it over the seat restraint the lady fell out of. They had the nerve to try and tell me ''oh that's not the seat, that's not even the train, it was taken off". Yeah...yeah...do you think I'm that stupid you teenager? Was basically my thought. I laughed when the kid didn't know how to deal with the fact that some of us are nerdy enough to know about how roller coasters work and blurted out "the restraint just isn't working!" I thought, great thing to tell these people in line who have no idea hahaha.
  19. That's the problem though, it was DEAD this past Sunday when I went, there would have been zero line in the queue if they had been letting us flow into the station train lines. As far as the airtime, they made another line for front seat riders. This was my first trip since they removed a car and made the ride be 5 car trains. I noticed a little bit, but not too much. So I can't speak for the back now because I didn't get to ride. It was too frustrating to go through that process again and deal with the ride ops and their assigned seating. So I just kept riding Titan until I had my fill on Sunday after my one NTAG ride. I guess if there's some good news though, I decided to finally directly call Six Flags HR about how bad their ride operations have been the last 2 years and about their latest seating experiment on Texas Giant. I don't complain...ever, I just deal with it like a good park goer, but I visited Cedar Point for the first time ever this year in September...boy do they do it right. They can run 3 trains without stack out and get the people on and get them off and on their way...our park struggles with 2 trains. Six Flags actually had the balls to listen to my complaints about it as they understood as a frequent roller coaster rider that I was trying to help. They told me to go back in a few weeks and see if things are improved. So keep an eye out to anyone who goes in the next few weeks and see if their Titan and Texas Giant operations have gone from non existent to just sucky.
  20. Prepare for frustration for the Texas Giant if you're going this month. I went on Sunday and it was pretty dead, but the ride ops have managed to make their terrible operations a little worse but having assigned seating. They held everyone back from the gated station area and only allowed the number of people one train can hold while keeping everyone else squeezed like sardines, if you wanted to wait for the front, they made us make a line within the line so to speak instead of letting us in the station. If they would have allowed people to flow into the station, there'd of been no line essentially. Titan wasn't a long wait all evening, in fact, I got in 10 min early with my season pass (whoo) and my fiancee and I and 2 others had a whole train to ourselves lol But the Texas Giant procedure PISSED OFF A LOT of people!
  21. Last I checked they were available on the Cedar Point Marketplace on their website. Let me go check if they're still there. Unfortunately I haven't seen them there, maybe I've been looking in the wrong spot lol
  22. This might be a long shot, but does anyone here know where I can find one of those desktop Millennium Force displays? I saw the park made some back like 5 years ago. I wasn't aware of them because I hadn't visited the park ever until this past season. I want one lol But the park doesn't make them anymore and I can't find any on like Ebay or anywhere. Any idea where I can find one or if anyone wants to sell one that's in decent shape?
  23. Cool, thank you very much! I was anticipating going opening day, but then realized that my finals week is that coming week... So I'm looking at the following weekend now! But Thanks!
  24. About time, in the end even though I stated that this was on Six Flags shoulders, the only resolution was for both companies to pay out because they BOTH need each other.
  25. Anybody with some experience be able to tell me how busy it might be on opening day? I made my first trip ever just a few months ago and had a BLAST! Even though I live in Texas, I'm picking up a season pass for Cedar Fair parks and traveling to King's Dominion, Cedar Point twice, Canada's Wonderland, and King's Island. But I'm most interested in opening day at Cedar Point at the moment. Thank you!
