  1. Each time I’ve been to CP, the ticket booth outside of the front gates opened at 8:45 am. I’ve purchased FL+ there multiple times before early entry; however, you cannot actually use the FL lines until 10 am.
  2. Awesome, thank you Mike and Ken! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I have a bizarre question! With Cedar Fair platinum passes, can you visit two different parks in one day? We’re in Mason right now visiting KI, and we were thinking of going tomorrow for a couple hours tomorrow before driving up to Sandusky for the second leg of our trip. Does anyone know if our platinum passes would work at CP if they’ve been scanned at KI earlier that day? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. It’s behind Afterburn. We found it on accident, but went back multiple times. Great break from the heat and awesome game/ride. Boo Blasters was running while we were there the last few days! Another great break from the heat, and fun game as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I don’t post much but had to reply to this! Agreed, 100%. Fury is a masterpiece. Got lucky enough to end my night at Carowinds with a front row night ride after marathoning it all day/evening. Absolutely incredible. I also enjoyed Afterburn, Intimidator, Hurler (I have a strange love for rickety old wooden coasters) and the Plants vs Zombies game/arena ride thingy. [emoji5]
  6. I’ve noticed an awful lot of technical difficulties as well. There was one day where nearly everything we got in line for broke down. Giant is the #1 culprit, but it also happened with Titan and Judge a couple times. I have no idea what the problem is, though. Airboss, sorry I can’t help you - I tend to go on Sunday nights since the park is usually empty, and as a local with a season pass, I don’t care really if I don’t get to ride much. What I can say is Texas Giant is a must-do, but it’s usually not open with the park. I would head that way and ride Titan first if Giant isn’t open. Giant is finicky and draws a crowd, so I would suggest doing it early on to ensure you get a ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I think it was $4 for one and $7 for two, but I don’t remember for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Maverick is what comes to mind because it doesn't seem impressive as far as stats go, but it is. I hadn't bothered with POVs or even looked twice when I got on. That is one of CP's best, and one of my all time favorites. Flight of Fear at KI was another one, but we rolled back and the lights came on, so I did see the track before riding, technically. Last but not least, NTAG, because I hadn't discovered POVs yet. I'd ridden the original Texas Giant a trillion times, and I was actually sad to see it go until I discovered the magic of RMC. I was blown away. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. I went in early June last year. We flew into Cleveland, rode out severe weather warnings at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame (so amazing, by the way) then drove to Sandusky in the evening. We decided to drive by CP to find everything was completely closed due to a power outage, and they later announced the park wouldn't open the following day, either. We ended up driving down to KI the next day and doing CP the day after. Plus, they comped our room at Breakers Express for one night, which was nice. It was also abnormally cold for June according to locals, so I'm sure that shift had something to do with the severe weather. The weather definitely isn't predictable, but maybe summer is more reliable than late spring? I know that's the case where I live... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Wow. What a mess! I'm glad everyone is safe, though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. You guys make me want to give Joker a shot! I wasn't impressed with Batman at SFFT, but I'm optimistic after hearing that y'all have enjoyed this one! Weather isn't looking good for this evening, though. Hope everyone at the park stays safe! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Looking forward to your review. I'm curious if this will have a slightly different feel to it than the other S&S 4Ds. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. I'm gonna wait for the lines to die down before I get on this one. I wasn't impressed with Batman at SFFT. I'll give this one a fair shake, but I don't want to battle crowds for it. Is anyone else going? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I waited 3 hours for X (before it was X2) at SFMM. Would've been 4, but it broke down, most people got out of line, then it was running again in about 15 minutes. But it was worth it - I haven't been to SFMM since. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I know there are better RMCs out there, but I love NTAG. Simply cannot help it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Start with New Texas Giant. It's my favorite ride in the park and usually has the longest line aside from VR Shockwave. Then ride Titan because it's right next door. Usually, from there, I make my way across the park to Gotham City to hit Mr. Freeze and (usually against my will) Batman, sometimes stopping along the way for Shockwave. Once you've hit the bigger rides, you can go to smaller ones like Judge Roy Scream, Runaway Mountain, Runaway Mine Train, etc. Riddler's Revenge (flat ride) is fun, too, as is Skyscreamer and Superman Tower of Power. Those lines can get a little long so I usually don't wait...those rides are all duplicates. About the meals, not sure since I don't eat there (I'm a local with a season pass). Hope this helps! Have fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. My point exactly. Gianvonola < B&M/Intamin. In the early 2000s, everyone was doing better than Titan except...well, you know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yeah, and I'd be a little more forgiving if MF at CP hadn't been built 2 years earlier. Definitely inferior, though. Thanks for the info about the rumor! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Where did you hear this? Depending on what goes up in its place, this may not be a bad thing. Titan isn't a great ride in my opinion, just okay. I tend to ride it because it's usually a walk on and it's right by NTG, which is my favorite ride in the park.
  20. Hi all, I've read through this thread quite a bit and have really enjoyed reading about people's experiences at Dollywood! I'm trying to plan a summer trip there, but the only time my friend and I both can get off work is the weekend right before 4th of July. We want to visit Dollywood on July 2nd or 3rd, but I'm concerned the park will be crazy busy. How are wait times for rides at Dollywood on long weekends? I read here that many visitors of Dollywood and SDC will go just to enjoy the park itself, but that doesn't always mean the wait times are bad for rides. Is this the case on a weekend like 4th of July? Or, would you recommend a fast pass? Our main reason for visiting is Lightning Rod. (I know that in and of itself is a gamble - that thing sounds like a mechanical nightmare but completely awesome anyway.) But, if we're going to travel all the way there from Dallas, we'd like to ride other things as well. Thanks in advance for any input. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. They are having to replace a gear on the lift. It should be back up soon. Gotcha. Thank you!
  22. Hi all, long time reader but don't post much! Does anyone know what's up with Titan? This is, I believe, the fourth day it's been closed. Additionally, they have that section of the park (picnic area and scrambler) closed off entirely with employees guarding the gates. Usually if it's closed, they only close off the actual line, so I was just curious as it seems odd... (I asked and was told "technical difficulties") Long lines today but NTAG is always worth it.
  23. I'm usually good to go with anything, but I do admit the old Texas Giant gave me bruises and a headache once when I rode twice in a row - seriously!? - so I didn't do that again. It was really rickety, and I didn't have anyone next to me to keep me from getting thrown around too much. (I normally rode with my dad, and he is much bigger than I am, so I would usually hit him before the two-inch-tall seat divider.
  24. Hi, I'm gratteciel and I have loved coasters for 12 years now. I was actually a big chicken when I was little, but around 12, I learned to love them. I've yet to find one that can scare me away - I have a personal rule against chickening out. Choosing a favorite is hard - I rode X at Six Flags Magic Mountain years ago (before it was X2) so that's a contender. I also like Desperado at Buffalo Bill's, The New Texas Giant at SFOT, Mr. Freeze at SFOT, Titan/Goliath, Riddler's Revenge at Magic Mountain...the list goes on. Have a feeling Kingda Ka would take the cake if I ever had the chance to ride, though. I've been following TPR for a while, so I'm excited to join the forums. Look forward to meeting everyone.
