National Roller Coaster Day
Kemotblue01 replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Spent National Roller Coaster Day at my local park Frontier City....closed out the day by a few night rides on the Wildcat a nice little out and back woody. Nice it is up and down through a dense forest area of the park. Then closed out the day with a final night run on the Silver Bullet a Classic Anton Shwarzkopf Looping Star. -
You Might Be A Coaster Nerd If....

SO true..... LOL -
So are you ready for the next couple of years? Looks like the Native Theme parks are fixing to take it in High gear and send it's guests for a loop. I feel the U.S. Parks are ready to compete with the Foreign Parks. Thanks Ask Alvey for your Website. I enjoy your videos because your on ride commentaries make me laugh.

Myself I cannot wait to visit family in Florida most likely next fall. My Uncle is on the maintenance crew for the Gringots ride and found out I can get a behind the scenes tour when I visit but I have to ride the ride first. Understandable! My cousin is one of the managers of security of the resort. So you can tell my favorite resort is the Universal Parks. Last few times I visited I spent time at the Disney Parks I feel I am getting to old for those parks. Universal Parks are more fitting for me. I cannot wait until next year.

Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"
Kemotblue01 replied to Teddymonster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Silver Bullet....Shwartzkopf looping star coaster located at Frontier City in OKC. The coaster has a nice little airtime hill that launches you way out of the seat just before careening full speed into a tunnel that was added to ride for a thrill then finishes off with a smooth break run. Guests applaud laugh cheer and you know your ready to get on the coaster again. That would be a considered a good ending on a coaster. -

In the article the track is not very long at all I think it was about the length of Silver Bullet. So about a minute long and its labeled as a family Thrill Ride. Which Premier and CNL market their parks too similiar to what SDC and Dollywood does Market their park to the family. I don't know how much they paid for Steel Lasso I'm sure it was probably in the same ballpark as this ride or at least 2 to 4 million. -

I visit Frontier City and Premier and CNL have been putting allot money into the park. They partnered up with Chance Rides. They have been refurbishing rides updating buildings, even brought back a defunct rare ride A chance rotor the type the floor drops down. I'm not keen to that ride. (the spinning would make me hurl) They just recently bought a new train engine and it looks sharp, updated the Ferris wheel with a new lighting package, The wildcat station has all brand new graphics and added the large Retro sign to the lift hill of that coaster. The Casino right now is going through a refurbishment. They did remove hangman broke down quite a bit and replaced it with a Flying Scooters ride. The Eruption was completely removed. The flying scooter they received that ride because it was literately according to them tossed into their lap. It was due to go to a zoo expansion(Hence the tropical parrot theme to the ride) somewhere in the midwest but the zoo could not budget it so they pretty much according to them got a steal of a deal on the ride. I know they are going to add something major to the park next season with their recent survey. They have the space to do a Major Expansion. Before Six Flags had the bankruptcy and sold this park there were plans to use the other 50 acres of park. Maybe after completing that Survey and a lot of the question were about expansion. They might be planning on using that unused 50 acres. I think 10 acres of that space they use for a parts and junk yard. They have 106 acres and are only using 56 acres. I think they are ready to take this park to the next level and make this a regional park like SDC and SFOT. Yes I can see Frontier City going after this type of ride. The last time they added a coaster was in 2008. It is due time for a new coaster. -
I don't know what they are doing all I know they are throwing everything around with their clues. The latest clue indicates Wood and Steel and a earlier clue on the phone message B&M. NO telling what they have plan seems like they are just throwing stuff out there to keep us guessing. 19 more days to see what happens. Because right now it is anybodies guess.

I hope it is Frontier City.. I emailed them a few days ago and asked if they are going to add any new rides since all the other major parks are adding rides next year. The reply I got back was just like this...."Thanks for being a loyal guest and all we can say right now is "Stay Tuned"...." They put out a survey on FB and twitter earlier in July asking their fans what they want to see by judging by the comments on FB with a huge response was a roller coaster. Maybe this S&S 4th Dimension will be landing in my local park their season always starts in mid April. I can see CNL Premier Parks spending 7 million on a coaster like this coaster. They have spent big on other attractions at other parks in their portfolio. They just did a huge expansion and update at Wet n Wild in Houston this past year. They spent over 2.5 million for the water play structure area at Frontier City in 2012. Their last new coaster they added was in 2008 that was a Jr. Inverted Vekoma I'm sure that cost more then the water play structure area. 6 years since they added a coaster. Maybe crossing my fingers this coaster lands in Frontier City. Then maybe I can make a trip to the park and personally meet Robb Alvey and his family when they visit. That way I can get his autograph! I know he would make a special trip to Frontier City to ride this coaster if indeed it lands at this park. -
I love this post I have a local themepark Frontier City in OKlahoma City...I'm a 5'11" 290lb man and my park I fit comfortably in all the coasters. Well myself for the first time since 2009 decided to go to a Major Thrill park SFOT. In 2009 I was 4olbs lighter. I was able to ride most of the coasters except. The New Texas Giant I was ushered to the test seat while entering the ride cue. The dreaded test seat...I pulled the seat bar down and the light didn't stay on it came on went off came on the test seat operator said sorry Unfortunately you can not ride. I said what if my Girlfriend pushed my restraint down he said sorry I cannot let you ride today. The other coaster that was not comfortable was the Titan I was able to ride but my girlfriend had to push the restraint down. The ride does not have a test seat the operators have a small red block if the block fits between the bar and seat wall then you cannot ride. So the operator asked me to put my wallet in the restraint pouch in front of me and said your girlfriend can push your restraint down. She did but it was not a comfortable ride. So just FYI on the Titan you have the greatest chance of walk of shame . Anyway, The rest of the coasters were comfortable . I still want to ride a RMC coaster so I am working to get my weight off myself and my girlfriend both have set a goal to lose weight because we want to go too SDC and make a return trip to SFOT next season.

New ride coming to Frontier City
Kemotblue01 replied to sushi-x's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm guessing they would probably put in a Tower ride not a coaster. Just because they removed their last tower ride Hangman to make room for the winged warrior. They also have the void area of the Eruption. So I see them adding some type of tower attraction. A good idea would be one of those sky swings in the old eruption area. Plenty of space for that type of ride or a tower drop ride. It's weird having a theme park without a tower ride. Your right about another coaster I would like to see them bring back the nightmare mine coaster. A newer model of course not a reused galaxy coaster. That would be a nice addition. I know that would take away their once a year attraction spot the Haunted house. It just seems such a waste of a large building. I will wait patiently if they do announce or start teasing it is not until the Holiday season when they start pushing Season Ticket sales in November. If they add anything larger they have plenty of space they have over 40 acres of untouched land. 10 acres they use for storage. Just curious what they will do to the park. I did find out the refurbished Casino will be returned to service in September. The ride is getting a complete overhaul and update by Chance Rides out of Kansas. So going to be nice to see another old park favorite being restored. -
New ride coming to Frontier City
Kemotblue01 replied to sushi-x's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I asked and Frontier City delivered....I messaged them asking about if there is any plans of adding a new attraction in 2015 since most parks across the U.S. were adding major attractions or hinting about adding major attraction in 2015. I asked if they do plan on adding something when can one expect the teasing to start or if there is any plans for a attraction at next season. I got a response back pretty quickly. They thanked me for being a loyal guest and all they can say is..."Stay Tuned"...... with the smiley face emoticon. I cannot wait till they start teasing. It is driving me nuts knowing they will be adding an attraction next year hopefully something more thrilling then the winged warrior. -
I last visited the park 5 years ago went every season when I lived in South Texas...Its not that far away as i can remember it just around the corner about 50 feet. from the entrance of Rockville. It could be a expansion. Any attraction in any themepark across the nation is not set in a permanent location. Rides can be moved, removed, changed. Line cues for attractions can switch so much a themepark can do to its property. This park is no exception. I'm just curious as to what they will put into the park and how they will change things so it fits. Curious, but they can be misleading us on the clues they did last year with the Bahama Blaster. So they are good at making the fans guess. It's fun for them to see the replies. Less then 30 days when Six Flags announce their plans for their parks in 2015.

Yeah I agree the Parrots fit the Wild West theme just fine....

I lost my password had to make a new handler name....I emailed Frontier city after seeing just about every single park in the United States adding a attraction next year to their portfolio. I was concerned because the past few years I have seen FC remove rides. This season they have put money back into the park and refurbished some old rides like the Chance Rotor and now the Casino ride is getting a facelift. They have done alot with refreshing up the building graphics etc. this year. They did get a new ride that pretty much fell into their lap the winged warrior according to their facebook page. It was a surprise for them as for their guests. I love that ride. I was concerned because so many parks across the nation are adding major attractions for 2015. Frontier City hasn't had a real major attraction since 2012 that was a much needed water play structure. I wait patiently because a response I got in a email from them was "Thank you for being a Loyal guest. All I can tell you right now is to "Stay Tuned"...... " with the big smiley face does that mean they are going to add a major attraction. MY patience is killing me....

Looking at the RCDB of SFGA Superman flying B&M the area the track is very similar to the area available at SFFT.....That ride is also has a height of 106ft. I am pretty sure this new ride is going to be B&M flyer I bet it will be themed for Batman. The new Superman vs. Batman comes out in 2016. I bet Rockville will be re-themed for DC comics. DC has Antman coming out in 2015. Wonder Woman 2016. Justice league in 2017 DC comic movies will be vamping up the next 3 years so their popularity of the Characters and DC comics affiliation with Six Flag parks I assume will also boost attendance at all SF parks.
