  1. Giga track everyone expects to go to Carowinds is actually being sent to Magic Mountain. Big curveball. You heard it here first folks...
  2. How were crowds this past week? I'm thinking of heading to Hershey for a day trip this coming Monday 8/18 and am hoping for a moderately-crowded day at worst. What should I expect for waits? Also, I haven't been to Hershey since probably 2006ish. What should my game plan be for the day? Planning on getting there right for opening and staying to close or close to it. Should I head to Skyrush first thing in the morning or would it be smarter to head back to Fahrenheit/Storm Runner and then back through Midway America then back up to the front?
  3. Are those of you disappointed with the name disappointed in the fact that it's spelt "Laff Trakk" as opposed to "Laugh Track" or at the name "Laff Trakk" in general? Just curious.
  4. Hahahaha that's a pretty bad mess up. This centurion tease would be much more believable if it included all of that information rather than just a low-res logo picture hahaha. Wouldn't say it's that low res. In reference to the smaller image next to the countdown. The background looked really good as you've shown. Looks like the site is down now anyway.
  5. I believe mine was the now defunct Whirlwind at Knoebels. Talk about a rough little Vekoma...

  7. *cough*GateKeeper*cough**cough* GateKeeper was easily the greatest screw up in amusement park history. Where can you find that site. I went to carowinds.com and couldn't find where it actually was That's the point....it's a troll. It's only meant to be found for the people looking for it (enthusiasts) Didn't pay much attention to the leading up to GK's announcement...what happened?
  8. I find it very hard to believe they would let the real name/logo slip like that. Great teaser though, they're really keeping everyone guessing
  9. Glad to hear your thoughts on Gatekeeper as they're similar to mine. Thanks for sharing the report!
  10. As a follow up. My DD, 11, rode (and LOVED) Verbolten and Appollo's Chariot this week. Crowds weren't bad during the week but it was a zoo today. Question: anyone hear that this would be the last year for a Celtic Fyre type show in Ireland? Read that somewhere and hope it isn't true. It's truly an amazing show. Thanks again for all the pre trip help. Wow I hope that's not the case for Celtic Fyre. I'd be disappointed to see it go, definitely my favorite show in the park.
  11. Is there really still any chance of a new coaster for 2015? Don't you think we'd have at least seen markings around? I'm hoping 2016 is DP's year.
  12. Quick visual. Does anyone remember when this footprint was laid down?
  13. Wouldn't Dorney's zoning ordinance prevent them from getting a WindSeeker in the first place?
  14. I'm sure we would have seen some sort of clearing back in the Dinos area/where ever a new coaster could be placed by now if it were happening for 2015. Heck, has anyone seen any action happening around the park as far as potential 2015-work goes? Haven't been to DP since opening weekend, but I'm planning on getting there within the next two weeks. I'm surprised by the lack of rumors churning out of the Dorney rumor mill for 2015...I'm sure it's safe to assume WWK won't get something new for 2015, so I'm eager to see what's in store.
  15. oh yes. and while you are in the line that slowly moves, you will hear it a few dozen times. Ri-ride-ride-ride... I agree, replacing robot dinosaurs with a GCI sounds like a brilliant idea. I wish every park with DA would do that, I gaurantee a spike in attendance. Wooden coasters are much more marketable that fake dinosaurs, now real dinos may or may not be a different story. Does anyone know when the Dorney Park/Cedar Fair contract with Dinos Alive ends? That land back there is prime territory for a new coaster. I'd like to think Dorney has something good planned for it once Dinos gets the boot... Has anyone heard anything about what Dorney has up their sleeve for 2015? I don't think I've heard even a single rumor. It's about time we get something original/not a hand-me-down from another park...
  16. I'm still waiting to see what that former Drachen Fire land will eventually occupy...obviously getting ahead of myself, but any thoughts?
  17. I'll chime in for Mean Streak as well. Beautiful structure to look at, painful to ride. If Hercules at DP was still around I'd say that as well.
  18. Great story! Congratulations on the weight loss. Looking forward to reading the rest of your VIP experience.
  19. The park will probably be moderately crowded but nothing over the top. If you're going for the entire day, you should be able to ride everything with no problem. I'd head to Zumanjaro and Ka first since they will have the longest lines and most downtime. After that, it doesn't matter where you go really but I like to hit Toro and Bizarro and then work my way over towards Nitro and Batman. Safe to say no more than about an hour wait for Ka (assuming no down time), El Toro, Superman, Zumanjaro, and Nitro? Zumanjaro and Ka could be over an hour due to breakdowns but the rest should be under an hour. Good to know. Thanks for the info!

  21. Can anyone give me an idea of what crowds/wait times will be like on a weekday in mid august? Looking at a one day trip to GAdv somewhere between Monday 8/11-Fri 8/15, Mon 8/18 or Tues 8/19. Not planning on using flash pass, not a season pass holder, and plan on staying the whole day. Thanks for any help!
  22. Steel: Millennium Force takes the cake here. Honorable mentions to Nitro, Apollo's Chariot, Griffon, Gatekeeper and Phantom's Revenge's ravine drop Wood: El Toro. 'Nuff said.
  23. Can anyone give some info about typical crowds/wait times during the last week of August weekdays (Mon 8/25-Fri 8/29)? Thinking of heading to the point for a one day trip one of these days. I was hoping the schools in and around Sandusky go back this week to potentially lighten crowds. I saw that park hours Mon-Thus are only until 8pm which I know to be a sign the park expects lighter crowds these days. No plat pass, not planning on going fast lane, and definitely planning on arriving at opening and staying until close. I've been to the point before so I'm fine missing some of the smaller coasters/flats. Any and all info appreciated!
