  1. I hopped over to the 'The Mysterious Yellow B&M!' thread and it looks like the orange track (or red depending on the post) could be something of a first for B&M. What are the chances this is true? Could Holiday World be setting themselves apart with a B&M first? The track certainly looks like a first for B&M yes. But would Holiday world really approach them asking for a new design? I'd expect them to maybe go for a wing rider. Holiday World always tries to set the park apart by having something unique with their marquee rides. Would Holiday World asking for a new design be too far from their norm? I don't think so.

  3. Alright, so back to coasters. I've read reports that of the footers that can be seen at Holiday World, some of them have an almond shaped hole cut out of the top with six rods (probably bolts?) arranged in a pattern around the hole. Does this give us any more insight into who's design we could be looking at?
  4. You've seen the manger scene at Holiday World, right? Case closed.
  5. Am I the only one who has been picturing a new New Year's Day section? I've had this idea for years. A giant ferris wheel themed like a clock. A drop ride themed like the Times Square Ball. A dark ride about time travel maybe? A few flat rides and restaurants themed around different countries around the world and how they celebrate New Year's Day?
  6. A few days ago I posted about an Infinity based solely on the idea of it being the first coaster of that kind in the New World and you have now added to my hopes. Both Smiler and Karacho have small hill heights yet pack a punch. Karacho also has lap only restraints and both Smiler and Karacho have height requirements that in or near Holiday World's other height requirements. And, for the price..I sure wouldn't pass up the opportunity to have the first of a kind of roller coaster in North America...
  7. Half way through these 66 days and Paula moons us.
  8. Anyone know why the footers closest to the camera in that photo would be rotated 45 degrees from each other? Not that it has anything to do with the ride...or maybe it does..but it just caught me as something odd.
  9. The mobile site has today's clue posted. "Day 32: Watching the sun set over the sea calms my soul." Included is another picture of clouds highlighted by a setting sun. Checked Google Chrome and Safari on my computer and neither have today's clue.
  10. Exactly right. I'm not at all worried about the decisions a nearly 70 year old park is making I'm only stating that the enthusiast community could be the ones to suffer because so many have had certain hopes. Holiday World will do just fine no matter what they decide to to.
  11. ^I think you could be right...partly. Maybe this is talking about how most of the earlier postings on this thread kept repeating the same "So-and-so coaster doesn't fit Holiday World," or the "I really don't want so-and-so coaster because I think it doesn't fit into what the park has done before." Maybe Holiday World IS doing something bigger and more extreme than they have ever done? Or...maybe they are doing something that to some of the enthusiast community might not seem worthy of 66 days of clues in hindsight.
  12. *drops in* Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster like Karacho. *zips back out*
  13. ^Care to share your findings? I'd be interested in seeing what you've pieced together. Part of me wants to believe something is hidden because that would be interesting but a much larger part of me thinks we find the answers we want.
  14. So, from 66DaysAtSea.com's Day 22 entry, can we narrow this down to a ride with inversions and/or possibly an inverted coaster altogether?
  15. Exactly right. I want to know what the ride is just as much as the next person but I know letting my wants and desires guide will have a higher probability of leading me to being let down. It's still early. Instead of trying to figure out the ride 44 days before it is announced and then another off season before I can even ride it, I've turned my attention to what the ride won't be based on a lack of clues but mainly based on park history. Give me another 22 days to shift my focus back to what I think the ride will be.
  16. I've come to appreciate viral marketing like this purely because it's hilarious to watch people freaking out over secret images hidden in clouds. I'd love to see some of the answers a Rorschach test would get. Nothing like letting your brain create clues to distract your eyes from something obvious!
  17. ^^Pareidolia, folks. Don't let your brain have too much unchecked fun.
  18. ^I've got my money set on a ride based on a seagull or sea creature (swimming and flying are similar).
  19. ^Isn't that how a mastiff's jowl looks? haha I just really don't see it I guess.
  20. Well, thank you. It is I ... the Mayflower Madame. #RavenMavenNoMore RavenMave..err...Mayflower Madame, I sensed it was you all along. I can perfectly hear your personality in more than a few of these posts. Wonderful job!
  21. ^I can agree to that! Who ever has been writing these entries has been really putting a lot of the character of the park and its employees into it as well. Day 17 really made me feel this. I've studied narrative writing and it really feels as those there are more to entries like Day 17 than a simple made up back story.
  22. I guess I just don't see an issue with the distance being so close. For most in and around Holiday World, Cedar Point is too far of a trip to do as is Dollywood and Six Flags Great America. Also, with the exception of Dollywood, the region to the south and west of Holiday world is also too far to visit SFGA and Cedar Point and they are lacking in this ride type. I could see Holiday World obtaining a wing coaster to have one up on SFStL before they decide to get one. I guess my opinion comes from the mindset of why build any coaster slightly similar to another if there is one near by? You just have to make it completely unique. I don't doubt Holiday World can manage that.
  23. I've been thinking that the whole time. Either enthusiasts or theme park goers in general.
