  1. And just to be clear, this is really the scale of the construction site. Massive.
  2. ^^^^The worst part about it was when I had to commute an hour to the park (and an hour back home again) when I worked there. It was nice in the morning, you got that extra hour of sleep after a long day before. I could leave my house at 7AM and get to the park at 7AM. The down side was the commute back home and even more so after a long day. Leave the park at 10PM and get home at 12AM.
  3. This thread is nearing 200 pages since the speculation started. Craziness!
  4. I can't seem to get Twitter, the construction cam, or 66DaysAtSea site to load....
  5. Folks, I hate to break it but let's be honest... All roller coasters are gimmicks. Otherwise, we would't build higher, faster, longer, steel, hybrid, looping, inverted, flying, dive, floorless, backwards, racers, launch, standing, air time monster, water element, show building, indoor, terrain.........coasters.
  6. Apologies for the double post. Longest LSM Launch is Helix by Mack Rides at 4,530.8ft. Longest LIM Launch is California Screamin' by Intamin at 6,072ft.
  7. What's wrong with verbolten? I think its a great, fun family coaster. I mean, there is no show building built for any see saw or drop track but still... Oh, no. Don't get me wrong. I'm sure the actual ride is very good. I'm just tired of the term. If by Verbolten like they are trying to say, it'll have a show building...(in my opinion) just say that. If they mean similar ride design and experience, fine...but both seem lacking to me. Just my opinion.
  8. I can not wait to not hear/see the term "Verbolten like" again....
  9. I can't believe it has been 66 days since this all started. Everyday but the past two hours have felt like forever and now those 66 days seem to have flown by. It's wonderful to see so many guests and members viewing this thread for a "little park in the middle of a cornfield." I am very excited for tomorrow but it's an odd excitement. Usually for Christmas, the feeling of excitement is pared with wondering if you got that new toy or gadget or if you got a few pairs of socks (again). This excitement isn't like that at all. This excitement is not caring what's under the tree but, instead, is an excitement where just getting something is the best part of all! Seriously, it could be socks and I'd still want to wear holes in them.
  10. You can tell Paula is at her wit's end by how many times she's used that shippy pun the past 36 hours. This ship is so worth it. That's ok. I guess I'm just saying your reasoning is wrong or dumb. There's also no evidence that turkeys were had at the first Thanksgiving, yet there are two rides that have a turkey theme. I guess we'll just see. I really don't care what the ride is called. I'm going to ride it.
  11. ^Well, the battle that claimed the Horseman's head and that the story is based on did take place on October, 28th. So, I'll give them that one. And Scooby-Do based the story on Halloween.
  12. I'm not saying it doesn't. I only asked how it fits. Saying it fits is not an explanation of how. I love the name and the theme. Edgar Allen Poe's poem is set in December and makes no mention of the October holiday. My point was that HW made The Raven work perfectly so what makes anyone think they can't make Thunderbird work in the Thanksgiving section. Edit* Also, HW has quite a few "bird" named rides. The Raven, Scarecrow Scrambler (ok that one's a stretch), Eagle's Flight, Turkey Whirl...
  13. Nope. That's wishful thinking. Thunderbird has nothing to do with Thanksgiving itself, nor a direct correlation with the Mayflower, or Pilgrims. Yeah, remind me again what relation The Raven has to Halloween. Thanks for the help, ZeroGravity.
  14. I think the website is down or has failed to upload the newest post to computers. Check your mobile device. The 65th post is up there.
  15. I remember hearing someone about Paula saying there will be a 67th clue. I could be mistaken.
  16. I still can't figure out that building. With the large opening in the side and now the seemingly purposely missing roof trusses, I'm even more boggled. I did a lot of looking last night after my posting about my loose speculation of a pneumatic launch and I found that the hydraulic launch systems have massive pumps that go in the winch house at the end of the launch. And, I found that all of those hydraulic pump holding winch houses have.... a garage door in one wall. I'm still mainly thinking LSM launch if a launch is going to happen but a growing part of me now thinks hydraulic or a new pneumatic launch system as the equipment involved in that is huge compared to computers and power supplies. Seems as those LSM equipment could also easily fill that building but that equipment can all be assembled once inside and comes into the building as smaller elements. After seeing the newest journal entry: Thanks, Paula!!
  17. I'm guessing it's the mold that makes the almond shape "cut". Those aren't actual cuts, like with a saw, because that would weaken the footer. They place that piece in as the concrete is poured and remove it once the concrete has cured enough. Thunderbirds are prominent in Native American legends. The birds were said to be the cause of thunder, lightning, and strong, forceful winds. They were feared and awed as powerful beasts worthy of the upmost respect. It would have been one of the first things the pilgrims heard from the Native Americans when they told them of the storms they sailed through. Many of the Native American traditions were adopted by the pilgrims and vice versa. A Voyage to the New World wouldn't be complete unless it crossed the path of this flying creature. How does HW inform their guests about this? I'm not sure how they will do it but one way would be to describe the legend of the thunderbird on themed signage in the queue. Like I said in my prediction, I think the new HW will take theming up a notch. Just read the WIKIpedia article on the Thunderbird. Here's an excerpt: If that doesn't sound like a bad a** roller coaster, I don't know what does. I hope I answered your question. I honestly don't know how they will make the theming work. I just know they'll make it work.
  18. I completely agree for the reasons you've listed, the reasons I've listed in my final prediction post, and because of other information. Glad someone else said it and not me!
  19. ^^^Definitely not a station and I doubt it's a mechanical building for trains.
  20. Going in the building and making a sharp turn to fit the whole train in the long part of the building? And the building being that close to the footers if it is a wing?
  21. Very true. It's hard to keep track with this one static shot. I agree. The only issues I have with that are the garage door opening and the "window" in the corner of the structure. I would think one would want an air tight building for computer components when it comes to the winters in our area and a garage type door doesn't offer that...and if they do find a way to seal it from air/water it's still a thin wall that isn't insulated. I could be wrong on the needs of computers, though. Another reason is that corner "window". I could see it being for electronic cables from the computers to the LSM's but...I wouldn't imaging you'd need an opening that large. With pneumatic piping, however, you would need something that large. I still 97% think it's LSM..
  22. ^It does look awful small for a station building unless it's some kind of pre-show or even queue housing like under Voyage. With its placement next to that long straight stretch some of us are thinking it might have something to do with that. Like housing for the computers (if it's an LSM launch) or even compressors and tanks for pneumatics, or pumps and filters for a pool. I'm thinking the big opening in the building is for a garage door to ease the process of filling the building with what it's meant to house, pumps, compressors and tanks are all big things. Yes...I'm now thinking pneumatics...but only a small thought right now. What a strong wind that would be.
  23. ^Have they been pouring footers there? I think that's just where they have been dumping excess concrete. They usually try to order the exact right amount but I've seen on other construction sites where they have a mound of concrete on the edge of the build site. The contractors have already paid for it and they can't take it back and reuse it.
