  1. Excellent! Hey, that was me today that you were talking to. I had glasses on. You gave me a great recommendation on that 5th row, right seat.
  2. Lol, nah, you will be renewing your pass next year. You are not fooling anybody.
  3. Damn, I would like to, but not sure about that date. I'll forward this to a few people.
  4. ^^this... it's the timing. I saw the video. It is bigger. Also, I agree. Either way, small fire > no fire.
  5. Man, people bellyache about anything. The fire effect is larger in live action. Look at the YouTube video that just came out. I'm too lazy right now to link it. Either way, I'm sure that the emphasis wasn't on a volcano blast. Probably were more concerned about the paint and trains. Do you think??
  6. From several riders that I talked to, the second from the back, and back row is where you gotta sit. I'm hearing that coming out of the corkscrew is a great experience, as well as a couple of other elements. So far, everyone is saying that it is a superb improvement over the stand up. Looking forward to riding it next Friday.
  7. Apocalypse's fire effect worked for years. Last year, not so much. Though, they knew that it was going to be closed soon too.
  8. Lol, yeah they are. Looking forward to seeing how they are going to plant the multitudes of plants that they still have potted.
  9. Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not, but painting a coaster by hand (with rollers and brushes) is actually the typical way of painting a coaster. Baynum Painting is pretty reputable when it comes to painting amusement park rides and if you go onto their blog you'll see plenty of images of people painting the rides exactly the same way they are doing it at SFA (not sure if Baynum is doing the painting for Firebird or not, but Baynum did repaint the ride when it originally opened as Apocalypse). Yes, sarcasm.
  10. Here's a quick few pics of today. They are hand painting Firebird...lol.. that's great. By the way, check the guy out still eating once the lap bar came down; I just had to get my phone out before they caught him. That's legendary. He almost got away with it too. Only reason they caught him is because they wanted to let one more family in the ride.
  11. They have trees, just not very tall. They seemed to have grown a bit in the last year though.
  12. The day has come. Another bathroom in Gotham. The park has turned a corner.
  13. Oh, yeah, there's theming on Firebird, but it's in the way of plants...lol..a lot of them.
  14. There are also 2 self serve drink machines in Heritage House. The rope lights have always been on the lift hill.
  15. Yes, there is a boat load of land. They own all of the wooded areas around the park.
  16. [coastertube][/coastertube] Lol, but he can go to his home park on the 6th after work. What I'm doing.
  17. Great idea. So my new plan is go June 10 and 11, with KI on Wednesday if it's open during the week then. The schedule isn't up.
  18. Yeah, from what I've gathered here is that early June, especially during the week, will be an excellent time to go.
  19. Lol if you have to shower after a dump you might want to change your diet. That Monday will be dead. Especially with FL+ you'll pretty much be able to ride what you want whenever, with the possible exceptions of SV, Maverick, and MF (since the merge point isn't at the station). That's the day that I finally accepted: June 10 and 11. I'll go ask in the KI forum, but it's KI open during ther week in June, since I plan to go there after or before CP? Either they haven't posted their schedule yet, or I can't open it.
  20. I bet some enthusiast somewhere has asked parents could be borrow their kid. NEED that credit...lol
  21. That's actually not a bad idea. The second day at CP wil be reride and flat day. Maybe get done about 3, then head to KI, for what's left of the evening if any, then start there the next morning.
  22. Yeah, good move. I have the same setup at work, so I end up taking a couple of trips usually. Others are correct about TTD. Ride Corkscrew last; it's the only genuinely bad coaster there. Also, you can't ride Wilderness Run unless you have a child with you. Ah, I didn't know that! Think I'll miss that cred until next year. I'll take my youngest daughter then. She probably still will be just under 54 inches next year. This year is for me! Haven't done it in I don't know how long.
