  1. Saw today that SFA is doing that announcement about the train being dispatched in 30 seconds. It worked too. People didn't fool around when getting in their seats. Roar train before me left in about 52 seconds; mine left in 47. Wild One around the same times. Keep it going! The food lines even moved faster today. At Chop Six, someone was going through the line taking dining passes for quicker checkout. Worked. I see that the rides are getting the Christmas treatment too. I like the different color schemes for different areas. Green and purple for Mardi Gras, red and blue for the middle, etc.
  2. Lol, really? When we went, only about 8 at a time went in at around 3-4 minute intervals which was plenty. Hall Manor is a 10, period. Go Friday or Sunday night; maybe better luck. I agree 100% with the other ratings.
  3. Man, they really went overboard (in a good way) with the Christmas lights in Coyote Creek. Something tells me that's where Santa is going to be. They do have an indoor photo shop there. That area would look the best during HITP anyway, IMO.
  4. Lol,..Zoolights is excellent though. Should check it out. It's free.
  5. Saturday. At least two trains are always running. I wouldn't say that about the families. There is going to be plenty for families. You'll see. Bottom line is that it's a Christmas event in DC. The crowd will be there. Williamsburg is more of a summer/fall place. That's probably why BGW's event wasn't big time at first. Trust me, I go to Williamsburg almost every year. It's always cheaper in the winter. Usually real expensive in the fall.
  6. Yeah, they were pretty manageable at SGGadv. This is the thing at SFA. The park shows its size when the water park closes. During FF, the second overflow lot is about full. It's pretty crammed around the park with all of the sections open. I can't imagine if we get the same crowds that we have during FF during HITP with an entire (the biggest) section closed. I'll put money down that the HITP crowd will be bigger; knowing this area anyway. One thing is a given. Food lines will be horrendous.
  7. Yup, SFA has done well enough. IMO, that's why it wasn't sold like the others. This year, I've never seen the parking lot so full. I think they have underestimated what the crowds are going to be for HITP. I have already heard on other boards that people are going to for go Zoolights this year for HITP. People, including myself, love Zoolights. SFA is going to be crammed without the back section open.
  8. the inconvenient truth hurts, but you have to accept it. Kings Dominion is a mediocre park, most mediocre of sfa An opinion is not "truth", it's an opinion. You're entitled to it but almost everyone would disagree with you and say that KD is infinitely better in every possible way, even excluding I305. If I were to rank, let's say the Top 10 rides between both parks it would probably look something like this. 1) Intimidator 305 2) Shenandoah Lumber Company (No, I will not yield) 3) Volcano 4) Superman 5) Dominator 6) Flight of Fear 7) Drop Tower (KD) 8) Backlot Stunt Coaster 9) Wild One 10) Batwing So for me, Kings Dominion is straight up dominating that list, and on top of that it has much better atmosphere and there cool things that stick out of the ground and have these weird green things called "leaves" on them that I'm told convert carbon to oxygen. I know you won't believe me because it's hard to imagine such a thing existing at Six Flags America but they're EVERYWHERE at KD. It's craziness. They also run more than one train on all of their coasters which is kind of nice. You're entitled to your opinion but not many people will agree with you. That's totally okay, it doesn't make you wrong (I liked Mean Streak so I get it). But your opinion is nothing more than an opinion. Anyway, as far as Holiday in the Park I won't go out of my way for it since Great Adventure is closer and they have Nitro, Batman, Superman and the amazingness that is Pointsettia Peak, but there's a good chance we'll stop by if we're in the area and we probably will be. The plan is to go visit Brit's family for Christmas in North Carolina so on the way home we'll try to take 95 and swing by for a ride on Wild One and Rajin Cajun and to check out the lights. Hmm,..other than #2, I agree with this list. Flight of Fear may have the edge since its inside, but JJ has no MCBR (maybe a change recently. Didn't ride it this year). Roar is a lot better this year; feels kinda brand new. I go to both quite a bit; KDs rides break a lot more. I'm really interested to see how Wild One rides in the cold. Trees? Who needs stinking trees, when you can go to Hurricanes and have a cold one?
  9. Lol,..yeah, I know. Could u imagine your ears being cold and riding apocalypse. It'll wreck your Christmas.
  10. Why the hell is Apocalypse going to be open,..lol.. That Christmas package they are selling is actually a steal. Staying at the Gaylord usually isn't cheap.
  11. Time is not an issue. Originally thinking 7-10 days total trip. I have done Colonial Williamsburg in the past as well as BGW, both some years back. I have never been to KD or SFA and was going to hit them on a weekday during the march/april school break. I was thinking 1 day at SFA and 1 at KD. The rest of the trip will be museums, monuments, sights, etc.. I love museums and can easily spend a day in each Smithsonian and be thrilled. My main question was the crowd levels at SFA during the break. The crowds are more than manageable. The first day could be a little dicey, but other than that, you'll get it all the coasters in within 2-3 hours (finished the rollercoaster race in 2h 05 min). Throw in shows and flats, then about 4-5 depending on show times. If it were water park time, then a day trip.
  12. Lol,..I love this idea, but you have to throw Volcano in there too.
  13. Lol,..I would have liked to see that. Rain did start back up though.
  14. Nice pics and report. Man, prices for the mazes are expensive up there. What park is doing it for free this year? Mexico?
  15. Lol,.i agree, but still will think they are good. I'm pissed that I didn't make it to GAdv. this year. I need El Toro in my life. The one time I went up there (HITP), it wasn't one of the rides open.
  16. I'm going to try to get a snap this weekend. Ill say it again, these are good flyers. Like with most everything, matter of opinion.
  17. Lol,.I actually really like those flyers. Haven't been able to snap them though.
  18. What ride used to be here? Krypton Comet used to be there. One of those chaos rides that you do not see anymore.
  19. I knew it. Not only was there a ride there before, but that hill will give it a little more height..the cheap way..lol
  20. I'd like to see the train again too.
  21. You are not missing anything, as far as Aftermath goes. Just a bunch of noise. Spider outbreak is good, mainly because of two parts of it.
  22. Judging from last year's pictures, It DOES! They had this last year. It was actually super creepy in there. Remember, The Haunting of Eleanor attraction is the best. Going through pitch black woods? Nothing like it.
