  1. The complaint from many, including myself, is that the current Six Flags installs new rides themed to DC characters without any regard for the theming the park already has. IE installing Supergirl in the Britannia section at SFSTL. Cedar Fair has been working more towards coherent area theming while Six Flags has been moving towards everything being a superhero ride while creating a thematic mashup with the existing themes in areas. I'm much more of a fan of Kings Island putting a spacey themed ride named Orion into X Base than I would be if it were called Superman in X Base, which is almost certainly what would have happened if Six Flags bought Cedar Fair a year ago.... Cedar Fair and theming??
  2. Kinda fun watching the Cedar Fair fanboys bite their nails off today
  3. Steel Vengeance: 205 ft tall with a 90 degree drop. Iron Gwazi: 206 ft tall with a 91 degree drop. Too funny
  4. Oooh totally forgot about the announcement, can't wait!!
  5. Project managers job is to know the regulations and handle them accordingly. No excuse for any delay to be caused by regulations or permits unless the people running the project suck. Things happen. Not everything runs perfectly all the time, regardless of the project manager's ability to properly manage their jobs. Construction, especially in California, can be a huge wildcard sometimes. I've personally been on major jobsites where a safety consultant comes in, does a jobsite inspection, and corporate shuts down the project until all action items are corrected. I've also been on jobsites where their only person on site trained in competent person trenching is needed on another project elsewhere in the country, so the project needs to shut down until someone else is trained or brought in that can perform those duties. It's also not uncommon for a construction company to be awarded a bid sometimes less than 2 weeks before they have to mobilize to the jobsite, causing a mass scramble of personnel. Who knows what the reason is, but things can happen on a whim. I feel like MM gets contractors from the front of Home Depot at this point. They've gotten hilariously bad at ride construction the past decade or so. Only exception was Twisted Colossus, which RMC did themselves AFAIK.
  6. The blue looks darker than the animation vid, much prefer the actual track color.
  7. I honestly thought they were a shoe in for one, only big park in the chain to not have one.
  8. The interesting part is I dont really see anyone complaining/disappointed. It's pretty much well understood why the park didn't announce anything for 2020. WCR looks great and will be a welcomed addition to the park.
  9. Can't help but wonder if La Ronde had an S&S canceled in favor of this...
  10. Perfect ride for hot ass Texas. Please tell me Six Flags ordered the turntable model
  11. YESRMC has to be the best teaser campaign Six Flags has ever done. The ride looks phenomenal, glad they upped the capacity a bit.
  12. Actually it's only been three years since Fireball was added. LOL...Fireball is not a major full circuit steel coaster..its not even a coaster. Are you trolling me? July 2019....hang in there pal
  13. I mean they haven't done that since the early 2000s anyway lol Legend has it there was an incident with the ride involving injury...allegedly
  14. Nope, January 2020. I honestly dont see how they can get this ride and the area its in ready by the end of 2019 they still have a ton of work to do. Doubt it's going to take another 4 months, track work is complete. True but they still have to do all the electrical work, testing, queue, and getting the new area done. It may not be January but I can see it being November or December. November seems fair, and I think there is some sort of permit deadline in November afaik.
  15. I saw an interview with Alan Schilke where he stated RMC wanted to sell more raptor clones, but parks were requesting bigger models. And he said in fact the next one would not be a clone. So we'll see I guess.. This means nothing to SFGAdv unless you can prove which one is the next one. The next one might already be sold or planned. I mean, why speculate at all then? If we cant use random tid bits here and there to come up with a hypothesis.

  17. I know I'm in the 1%, but a little sad to see GL go. Mostly just because of the aesthetic it brought to that part of the park. Bright, compact, and decently themed. Also used to enjoy watching people coming off the ride with a total "wtf was that?!" look on their faces. Oh well lol
  18. It's amazing they made it this long, leaks are just soup du jour nowadays. Not just in the amusement industry either.

  20. Only thing that makes my stomach jump are/were first gen Intamin drop towers.
  21. That was actually awesome because it was so unexpected. I mean there were rumors of a single rail, but we all just assumed the announcement would come with the rest of the chain.
  22. Tha'ts an awesome addition for SFOT, if that rumor is true about it being a left over from Six Flags Dubai I wonder what other leftover stuff might be on the way in the future lol
