  1. And as clanky as these things were, there was ever only one accident and never any deaths
  2. Haha I remember that sound very well. I would always listen to hear if people screamed, most didn't because it would take your breath away. Haha and the way you'd clunk down almost upside down back to the station. What a contraption that was!!
  3. Man this ride is going to be such coaster porn! Can't wait until it's complete and testing
  4. Freefall (1st gen Intamin) to me was STILL the scariest and most intense drop tower of all time. If Freefall were as tall as SS or LL, people would probably faint
  5. I wonder how many people who hate on SFMM have actually been to the park or just hate on it cause it's the thing to do. People act like they perform baby eating rituals at MM or something.
  6. Love the color, looks like grape candy
  7. Yeah it's probably inevitable, it's so sad they're slowly tearing away my childhood memories. That being said hopefully they put a dueling terrain euro fighter in their place
  8. So there is head/neck banging on Maverick? Definitely not looking forward to that but I'll ride anyway, the ride looks super amazing
  9. I love Ninja and would be devastated if they ever removed it, I'd sacrifice Viper first lol
  10. Any of the big ones (Great Adv, MM, Great Amer, Over Texas)
  11. I can't wait to ride Maverick this year, how long are the lines usually? I'm planning to go in mid-May on a weekday
  12. I wonder if MM has plans to ever remove Viper. It would be bittersweet for me, growing up as a kid it was THE ride to get on as it was the tallest, fastest, most intimidating ride at MM for a long time. I guess as long as it's inexpensive to maintain (I'd venture to say it's one off MM's most reliable rides it's never been closed out of 100s of times I've been to MM) and it gets decent ridership, they'll hold on to it. I personally think it's MM's most successful ride of all time (I think 1990 is still the record for the highest attendance, or is it '94 or '96? ).
  13. Six Flags should've refunded his money, even though they had no lawful reason to but just out of respect and compassion. Offering him free passes for a future visit was pointless
  14. Not sure if it applies now, but I too remember in the late 90's different trains would give different types of rides. I remember both the train with the red stripe and the train with the yellow stripe giving rougher rides than the train with the orange and train with the beige stripe.
  15. I've been riding Viper since I was 11 (32 now) and it's definitely a shadow of its former self
  16. Gotta give a shout out to Knott's too, so much is crammed into one small square grid of space.
  17. CP, or SFMM coming south on the 5 fwy
  18. Nope. Ride opened with no trim brakes at all. Was wild crazy and (smooth). No head banging at all. Alas though. With all arrows It doesn't stay that way. I say this with love because for over 20 years viper was my favorite ride. I still remember the first time I turned the corner after climbing the hill toward the parking lot and literally stopping in the lane when I saw it. Wasn't open yet. (2 weeks out). I went every weekend waiting for it to open. I remember as a kid when there was no trim brake after the first loop, I remember seeing spots regularly after the third loop. Viper used to be so intense, now it's just rough, slow and boring.
  19. I think the polercoaster concept is cool, but I'd personally want a more traditional coaster to brrak 500ft. I'm sure the cost of the track length pretty much makes it impossible tho
  20. The GP does not care about clones (unless they are YouTube GP.) Case in point - Boomerangs and SLCs. Of course, said YouTube GP will go one step further and call it a clone of I305. The GP also will think that a non-looping small coaster with no unique tricks is a kiddie coaster. It's sad, really. Most Youtube GP think any coaster is a kiddie coaster unless it has "more loops." Or, "This ride isn't scary at all and I'm 9." I know right, the comments are hilarious. I let one youtuber have it when he claimed X2 was a copy of Gatekeeper
  21. I say Gradv brings mega-lite to the U.S. Come on, it's tried and true and the GP has no idea it's a clone
  22. Thank goodness they didn't dampen the roar, B&M's that don't roar are so boring to watch
