  1. Not sure if anybody has mentioned this and if someone has I apologize, but it seems that the park will be somewhat operational this sunday. According to this post on Stub Hubs Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/events/1260631857286646/ The problem I have with this article is when it mentions 3 of the coasters that will be open it says "Gold Striker" which is awesome but then it mentions "the Viper" and "Venom" Is this just Stubhub doing a very "GP" thing and confusing coasters at the two "Great America" parks and then just pulling the name "Venom" out of their a** or am I completely missing something? Also of note, the event is not mentioned anywhere on CGA's website (although it has been mentioned on Twitter and IG I believe) I wonder if they plan on having the whole park open (which would be weird considering their actual opening day isn't until the end of March) or just a section of the park. Anybody with more info on this whole thing?
  2. I noticed that fastlane info and tickets have not been posted for the past few weeks (unless they moved it somewhere obscure). My trip should be for Friday May 20th, so I might not need it cause it's early season, but it is only a one day trip. I don't think you'll need fast lane. Just get there for early entry and get on MF, Maverick, and Valravn and you'll be able to get on everything numerous times
  3. Valleyfair this year is another example
  4. I'm gonna guess auto correct got a hold of that...
  5. I wouldn't put too much creditability to those accounts but I will admit that thay has been my idea for KI in 2017 or 2018
  6. I 100% agree with this statement. It really isn't that bad if you know how to ride it
  7. Just because it's highly banked doesn't automatically mean higher positive g forces. If anything, I would almost bet in some type of crazy feeling lateral force (which is not a bad thing) on the right side of the train at the peak of the turn. B&M has been doing this a lot lately where they design a turn that almost or does bank at 90 degrees + at the peak. They did this on Fury (Treble Clef), Thunderbird (the turn into the inline twist) and Baron 1898 (the helix after the Zero-G roll). To me it looks pretty sharp as well and I have to imagine there will be some decent speed going into that curve. Idk I like the way you're thinking as well though!
  8. It looks like it will, given how banked it is Yes I agree. I completely underestimated that turn. Not saying it will be I305-esque but it will be pretty forceful
  9. Which is the one with the covered bridge for those of you wondering
  10. Where is the Boat? Can someone please ask Tony where the damn boat is? At some point, I think we need to face that the boat had come to a tragic end to its life if it doesn't come back soon. Noooooooo don't say such horrible words! #boatlivesmatter
  11. Has been stated several times during quarter earning conference calls. Valleyfair is one of the key markets that they're trying to expand on, along with Carowinds and CA Great America. They don't need as large of an expansion as Carowinds has been needing, but it's still there. Valleyfair has a rather large market available to it, but can only hit around 1 million guests a season when it could easily reach 1.5mil, if not more. Cedar Point pretty much is on its own and really CF can do whatever they want to it as the market is already established and guests will always go there in droves and it's the same with Kings Island. Wonderland is one of those parks too that it's hard to expand on the market when the market is already established, or in their case, the dominate spot in the market. There's a reason why Canada's Wonderland has the highest yearly attendance out of all of the Cedar Fair parks. Oh okay thanks! I don't keep track of the conference calls so I wouldn't know. Maybe I should start!
  12. I mean they do already have Ocean Motion...
  13. Nothing as of now. Now that we're officially in Ouimet's 5-year plan for the chain, things have been pretty quiet in terms of rumors for all of the parks. We could expect something in Skyrider's former spot, but it's all speculation right now since there hasn't even been a peep in terms of what could be coming. I'm gonna say this now, I wouldn't put a strong merit on it being a big coaster though. Wonderland is not currently on CF's list of focus parks, as Carowinds and Valleyfair top that list with a couple others below it. There's only so much market you can hit before it's too saturated and with Wonderland being THE premiere park in Canada, it doesn't really need to improve on anything besides filling in minor gaps such as newer family/thrill rides. Can I ask where Valleyfair came from? I would say CP, Carowinds, and KI...
  14. It's a pretty nice day up here today... I wonder if it would be a good day to take your BOAT out..... just sayin...
  15. Run and Ride is a great event! Totally recommend... as for the crowds... I don't know about the Sunday that weekend (probably pretty manageable though) as for Saturday... pretty crowded but manageable. Fast lane wouldn't hurt.
  16. I can't go on... when will it end? Well, someone had to do it!
  17. That could be really cool on a ride like Iron Dragon!!!
  18. I would love that and for a park that may be a little tight on space that seems like a likely fit
  19. A lot of parks have separate admissions for Haunts I believe so the park will close at 5 those days and I assume will then reopen at 7 for Haunt. (Somebody correct me if im wrong) I believe Carowinds also does this
  20. It always amazes me how they can find room for all these huge rides.
