  1. You're welcome Coasterbill Crazanity will be located in the spot currently occupied by the Teatro Chino, the stadium-like theather where the park's main shows and events used to take place. I've also heard that the Mundo Marino theather, which is closed since the City approved a law that forbids shows featuring living animals, will become the park's main venue in the near future. *approximate location
  2. Hello everyone, as some of you know, La Feria and SFM are my home parks. I'm still shocked and saddened by this terrible news, as far as I remember this is the first fatal rollercoaster accident in Mexico, and knowing it happened on one of my most beloved rollercoasters makes it worse. My thoughts are with the victims' families and with the park staff in this difficult times. As you may expect, at this time it's really complicated to find accurate information with all the sensationalist media spreading lies and questionable 'facts'. That being said, what we know it's that thorough investigations are underway and the park will remain closed until further notice. I will try to keep you updated
  3. You're welcome! Christmas in the Park lasts until the third week of January, that would be the 19th so you will catch it for sure, and the flash pass for 10 rides costs between $15 and $30 USD depending on the demand of the day. About La Feria, yes, going on weekends increases the chances of them running everything, although operations tend to be slow. There's a new small park built on top of a mall in the south-east part of the city, near Xochimilco, called "Kataplum!" that features a Vekoma Family Inverted Coaster, a Spinning Wild Mouse and many other fun rides: About non-park related things to do, it really depends what you're into. Teotihuacan is a must-visit definitely. Chapultepec Park is beautiful, and you can visit many atractions there besides La Feria like the Anthropology Museum, the Chapultepec Castle and the lakes: Near Chapultepec is the luxurious Polanco neighborhood, there you will find Plaza Carso, home of the Soumaya art museum and Acuario Inbursa (the biggest aquarium in Latin America, which is completely underground): In the west part of the city, also close-ish to Chapultepec is Parque La Mexicana, a relatively new urban park with fantastic views but not really much to do: Those are the places that come to mind, don't hesitate to ask me for more specific recommendations!
  4. I recommend you to visit the park on the second or third week of january, most schools have already started classes and you won't find the park packed. If you go on a friday or sunday you will find good 2-train ops and is least likely for them to close rides for maintenance (they usually do that from monday to wednesday). About La Feria, although they have made great improvements to the park and it's operations throughout this year, it's still slow compared to SF, and the park is too crowded on weekends no matter what time of the year is it. My suggestion is for you to visit La Feria on a wednesday or thursday, most rides are walk-ons! I live in Mexico City, so don't hesitate to ask me for any local advise you need
  5. PRESS RELEASE 'After an extensive safety inspection performed by both company's and independent engineering experts, I'm pleased to inform that none of the rides, slides or attractions in the waterpark were damaged during the earthquake on september 19th. However, the waterpark will remain closed for several weeks, as small repairs on some buildings and infrastructure take place. At Six Flags, our number one priority is the safety of our visitors and employees. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the earthquake' ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Personal note From what I've heard from SF workers, while it's true that none of the slides were affected, several buildings at Hurricane Harbor resulted with structural damage and they are asessing whether they can be repaired or should be demolished. The park will remain closed until further notice. In the meantime, Six Flags Mexico has announced that 2017 Gold Season Passes will be valid at the waterpark until March 2018.
  6. It is usually very crowded in the weekends, but if you go on tuesday it should be OK. I would advise you to go the last week of August though, the kids have already returned to school and you will find the park almost empty!
  7. Not that I've heard of. It has been running pretty well since it opened. What kind of difficulties had the St. Louis one?
  8. Justice League Battle for Metropolis opens on March 4th! Photo by Sally Corporation:
  9. It fits the theming of Wild West, I think it was a good idea to use those materials and colors! And there is also the fact that the air is sometimes very polluted because of traffic and volcano ashes, that's why our Superman looks so worn (the track is almost black at some points!). Glad you liked your trip to CDMX. Greetings from here!
  10. ]#Throwback Take a look at this. The main entrance to Reino Aventura 6 years before the conversion to SFM. It was beautiful! This was part of the Whaling Walls series of murals by artist Robert Wyland. This piece of art named "Free Keiko" was part of the movement for the release of Keiko, the orca from the "Free Willy" movie. It such a shame that Six Flags decided to get rid of it, maybe to avoid any Sea World reference?
  11. Incredible! I would like to go west!
  12. Well, last year besides Medusa they also opened Slingshot, which is an upcharge ride and was not announced until they finished construction. I'm guessing the SkyCoaster will open this year without any special announcement.
  13. I also filmed the countdown and first cycle, take a look: My impressions: It's an amazing addition to the park, the views from above are fabulous! You spin really fast and some people might get dizzy. The operations seemed a little bit slow, let's hope they improve with the practice. It opened to the GP on saturday and the lines were incredibly long! I calculate the wait was about 2:30 hrs. Also, they expanded the batman shop that now also serves an an exit for the new ride. That's all folks!
  14. Hello TPR! It took me a while to find some spare time to share with you this little photo report of SkyScreamer's media day at SFM. I work at an institution for kids with down syndrome and we had the luck of being invited to the grand opening! Let's go to the photos: What's inside this cool envelope? I've got a ticket to ride! Good afternoon, you beautiful! The "biker gang" LOL! They're actually a rock-pop band called "Moderatto". They're very famous in Latin America. The committee has arrived. First cycle! I really like the revamped Six Flags logo. What do you guys think? You were able to be photographed on the blue carpet after your ride. A little bit dizzy but really happy! Batman's new colors! The yellow of the track is a more intense shade than before. Looking great! Hope it's open soon. The new tallest attraction in Mexico City.
  15. Hello! Six Flags Mexico has announced that SkyScreamer will open next Saturday March 7th. Media day will be Thursday March 5th.
  16. SkyScreamer has begun testing today with passengers! Employees of the park got to ride it before anyone else. It looks AMAZING! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] (Video by CoasterZone)
  17. No, they haven't started yet. It might look brighter beause today was a really sunny day! haha. The park states it will be a 74 meters one, that's about 242 ft.
  18. Six Flags Mexico shared an update about SkyScreamer. Construction is almost complete. Half of the Hollywood section of the park, where SkyScreamer is located, is closed as it's going through a massive renovation that will include the repainting of Batman The Ride. The area looks like this: (Photo credit to CoasterWorldMX) Greetings from Mexico City, TPR!
  19. Nothing official has been said yet. How much time does it take to build these kind of rides? About the queue: Yes, the midway goes directly between them. I think a bridge is the logical solution.
  20. SkyScreamer rising CoasterWorldMX.com (via their Facebook page) has posted a couple of pictures of the SkyScreamer base on site and what appears to be the queue. SkyScreamer will be located in the Hollywood area of the park, next to Batman The Ride's shop. This is such a great location for this kind of ride, since it's exactly in the middle of three coasters: Boomerang, Batman and Superman and next to the forest outside the park. The queue and the ride itself are separated by a midway leading to the Go-Karts, and will be purpotedly be connected by a bridge. Location
  21. Ohhh. Thank you everyone for your answers. This gets me very excited about the SkyScreamer. One of my fav things about SFM is the amazing views you experience from the top of Superman and Kilahuea (the combo tower). With SS being even taller than these rides and lasting longer, the views will be surreal! Haha, that's the most popular comment among the GP on SFM's Facebook page! Cultural note: They are called "Los Voladores de Papantla" (The flying men from Papantla*). Papantla is a small town in the State of Veracruz, near the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
  22. Since I haven't ridden any of the two. Why SkyScreamers are better than WindSeekers?
  23. As a local, I think the best translation for that is "Stay tuned". INTERESTING FACT: Without counting SlingShot (which has an extra fee) and some kiddie rides added several years ago, SkyScreamer will be the FIRST flat ride added to SFM's line-up SINCE IT OPENED!!! For 14 years we have been riding the same flat rides and watching many of them being removed. This will also be the tallest structure in the park, so, I'm guessing this will be a huge success for my home park.
  24. According to my brother who attended the opening, wait time was about 2 hours with the two trains running. But for some reason, around 5:30PM, they removed the orange train and continued running only the red one. Then wait time must have increased to 3+ hours.
