  1. I was at the point today, and Wicked Twister was on the track, the entire train, and the track pieces reconnected. But there was still some scaffolding and other stuff set up around it, looking like work was still being done to it.
  2. By my understanding, new trains of this scale/quality run around $1 million apiece. I don't think Cedar Point invested $3 million in their most popular coaster for no ROI (besides negligibly reduced maintenance costs) without releasing any information. They announced the new Maverick vests, I think they would've announced entirely new MF trains. Plus, besides the Mega lites, Intamin hasn't manufactured the old style hyper/giga trains in quite awhile--Goliath/Walibi in '02? Yeah I don't think that they're new trains either.
  3. During all of the ERT, the lines weren't bad at all. For night ERT we did 6 laps on Maverick and 7 on Mille within the 1:30 or two hours. That's pretty awesome. Morning ERT we got on everything we wanted to multiple times just by wandering around. CP does a really good job of making sure that your day is FULL of coasters. You won't be disappointed.
  4. I remember talking to someone at Coastermania (I can't remember who) but they said that they were considering the change because of the really loud rattle it was producing. It wasn't every seat, but some seats/trains you could realllly hear it. I think they also said that this made them replace pieces of the train every once and a while to prevent this. So it might be a bigger upfront investment, but it might pay off.
  5. Rougarou looks awesome! I can't wait to ride it. I'm going with a bunch of friends this wednesday, do you guys think that it'll be busy at all? Thanks!
  6. Actually the U.S.A. part was under "Country of Origin" and is on there for shipping purposes (I assume). This would make sense considering "Hot Go Park" (http://rcdb.com/11605.htm) is in China. Interesting development of this story. I suppose I don't live that far from this steel factory place, although tbh I'm not curious enough to swing by just to spy on some coaster track. That green track looks like it's for an inverted coaster, which I hope is not what SWO is getting. I'm still hoping they get a Mack. Well, how was Manta at SWSD received? If it turned out well, we could potentially see another from mack.
  7. I did Raptor and Mantis at CP for the first time on the same day years and years ago. Can't exactly remember which was first, but it was probably raptor.
  8. Exactly. That's a pretty similar start to a hyper/wing rider from what it looks like.
  9. I tend to agree, I absolutely LOVE Voyage, and usually DREAD water rides...but these were simply fantastic and a load of fun. They really...blew me out of the water...if you will.
  10. All of this seems to have cleared up my original question, and even caused some more conversation! Maaaaaybe one day we'll see some vertical drops but we'll see lol.
  11. ^ That actually made sense. HEY MOM I UNDERSTOOD PHYSICS
  12. Why haven't we had a coaster (hyper or giga) with a vertical, or beyond vertical drop? Is it due to the longer trains, since dive coasters have vertical drops? I'm sure there's a logical answer, I'm just not sure what it is. Hopefully you guys can enlighten me.
  13. Every time I go, Raptor is a walf on for like the entirety of the hour. I usually don't hit Gatekeeper at this time so I wouldn't know. Millenium is usually the biggest draw and you might wait 15-20 minutes. Rougarou should probably be 10-15 considering its new, but has awesome capacity. Maverick is usually pretty short.
  14. I don't think it's plausible either. I was just saying I would prefer something like Fahrenheit, but I do agree that it's an okay ride. I only rode it once and I think I set my expectations too high. Still I'll take a decent Intamin over a B&M. You have to also consider, at least from a GP standpoint, Maverick and Fahrenheit would look almost identical. Small trains, intamin track, 90/beyond vertical drop...I just don't see it.
  15. As of late, I only ride Gatekeeper in the back. The first drop is pretty forceful, and the immelman too. I enjoy both of those a lot. The two zero G rolls surve a purpose of being weightless, not forceful. The dive loop can be meh. All in all I don't think it's bad. I really enjoy it and I'll go on it probably two or three times I go to the park. I just don't wait over 30 minutes for it lol
  16. Wait Maverick isn't a space shot?
  17. I think one reason some of them ran without wheel covers is that they aren't used when running the train backwards. (No idea why). Or this is just what i've noticed. And then maybe they got lazy...
  18. UGH Cheetah Hunt. Boom. And also phoenix because TPR loves the buffet...
  19. Exactly what I was thinking. With dive element WHOOSH haha
  20. What if we see a revamped Marina entrance with this, making it much more appealing, and then the dive coaster's drop going right under the walkway. Would continue with Cedar Fair's fetish with awesome entrances, and make great views for the dive coaster. Thoughts?
  21. Last I checked they were available on the Cedar Point Marketplace on their website. Let me go check if they're still there. *Edit: They don't appear to be. Good luck finding one, I want one too! Maybe there are a few left in the gift shops?
  22. Oooooh I know EXACTLY what you're talking about...and you're right.
  23. I think it would be cool to see a dive coaster with a pre-lift section. Not something crazy, but maybe a little barrel roll like on hydra. Throw that indoors with some theming and it could be VERY cool
  24. I assumed that the trim was staying...last weekend when I visited I noticed the trim wasn't painted, but I DID notice that the stair well leading up to, and surrounding the trim, were painted the new color. But now it's been confirmed that it's actually painted. Maybe they won't actually use it...fingers crossed...
