  1. In the presentation at King Louie's Walk through they mentioned that Dole Whip might be making an appearance for the 2019 season. I've never had it, but a lot of Disney fans are obsessed with it. I'm excited.
  2. I have much closer places to me to work, that pay more, but I drive about 25 miles to Kentucky Kingdom to work because I love it that much. It pays my bills and I'd rather get paid a little less for a job I love than a little more for a job I hate. Plus, I always get at least 40 hours a week at the park. I know not all parks are like this, I'm just glad mine is.
  3. Thanks for sharing! Those little coasters look awesome and I hope more parks will be looking into them in the future.
  4. Staffing was an issue for the park on some days. Also, it made sense to close off the back half of the park an hour prior to the rest of the park. By closing most of those rides, they can get the majority of guests moved to the front half of the park and like you said, save money on labor. If I remember correctly, the park only did this towards the end of the season, but I could be wrong because I was always on the north side of the park. As for popularity of the park, it had its days. Weekends were typically slammed, week days didn't have many guests but I wouldn't say the park was dead or not busy. I really wish the park would spend a little more on advertising Kentucky Flyer, I have seen maybe one advertisement for it.
  5. Kingdom Fries are Fries with Cheese Sauce, Bacon Bits and Ranch Dressing. They are delicious and glad to see them returning. Neat! Thanks for clarifying!
  6. I'm going to be honest, when this thing was first announced I was upset it wasn't something bigger. Looking back, I realize how stupid that thought was. This little coaster looks super fun and I'm sure it will fly through the layout. I'm super excited for it and I'm looking forward to the pictures tomorrow!
  7. I know, I can see that! The coaster will look awesome running along the wave pool.
  8. Not much of an update, but today the park gave returning team members of the ride department a glance at Kentucky Flyer. I'm no Mark Brunner, but here are my pictures. The lift and first drop are nearing completion. Station and transfer shed area. I absolutely love Lightning Run. I actually have such a tough time deciding if I like it more than Storm Chaser or not. T3 awaiting innocent thighs
  9. You'll love Kings Island! Personally, I like the atmosphere of KI more than I do CP, although I do prefer CP's coasters. Let us know if you have any questions about the park.
  10. I don't think it really matters that Screamin' Eagle is a landmark coaster. Colossus was pretty notable and Six Flags RMCed it, but who knows.
  11. I heard the park is getting an RMC supergirl coaster in 2020.
  12. No, it's on the 11th for employees only. King Louie's walkthrough will probably be a little more in-depth so I'm sure you all are in for a treat. Please post pictures!
  13. The park is hosting an event for team members during the second week of February. They are going to show everyone the progress of Kentucky Flyer and do a few other things. I'll be sure to update with pictures!
  14. Went to the park last Saturday and the lines were also nonexistent. The second I walked up to flight of fear, I got on. So, we rode that probably 5-6 times. There was maybe a 2-3 minute wait on Mystic, but mostly it was a walk on.We got about 4 rides in on that. I've been to Winterfest twice this season, but sadly, I don't think I'm planning on going again until next spring. EDIT - I lied. I just bought my little sister a ticket, so I guess I'll be heading that way next weekend.
  15. That'd be awesome! Does anyone know if the fair board owns the road or is that road property of the park? If it's not property of the park, I'm sure they'd never allow that.
  16. According to Ed, a coaster of that height is possible alongside where Kentucky Flyer is going and by deep water dive, as there aren't landing strips facing that direction.
  17. Just imagine what a hyper would look like on the skyline.
  18. I've been thinking about something lately and it blows my mind. So, if you go to Kingdom you'll notice that t3 sticks out the most in the park and it pretty much towers over the park, coaster wise. Obviously there are some other attractions that are taller than t3. However, T3 is 102 ft. tall at the top of the lift. If you go to Kings Island, Mystic Timbers seems super tiny on the skyline, everything towers over it. However, Mystic is 109 feet tall. Just imagine how much a taller coaster would tower over everything at Kingdom.
  19. I took my first trip ever to Winterfest on Friday night. It's a fantastic event, the park is beautiful! I managed to be on the first train on FOF. I only took one or two pictures, neither turned out very well. We only rode FOF once, we rode Mystic twice. Once we went to the regular line for Mystic, which was about an hour long. The second ride we went to the single riders line, which was about 20 minutes. There's a lot to do, but I think that if lines are minimal, you can squeeze everything in in just a few hours. The park only being open 5-10 isn't a big deal. Once again, it's a great event and I'll be back a lot.(Yeah, I know, I should start taking more horizontal pictures. )
  20. Yikes. Unsweet tea? I didn't know people actually drank that stuff.
  21. I believe it was called Blue World, or something along those lines. Plans were canceled after Seaworld announced they would stop breeding their orcas.
