The area you are referring to is being saved for Hurricane Harbor expansion, including a possible second entrance to HH. Really? Eh ok, I aint a fan of water parks, buy hey that is a popular thing for the public.. still would think that would have been a nice area -

Haha thanks I didn't know that, what other copy's are there of American Thunder'? I never seen Ninja red, I have only seen it black and white, so that could make it stand out big time; also get rid of the adverts on the side of the train's lol -

But going on from what you told me, Freeze is old (14 years old), there is a two copy's of them out there unlike Voyage which is unique under its own right like Ninja at SFStL. Unlike Ninja though, Voyage is still pretty new, and it is still high on the charts so I can see the cost of justifying upkeep unlike Freeze; and Freeze may be popular to locals but that is about it (sure there is some outside enthusiasm). Ninja under its own right deserves a little love also because of how unique it is to the rest of the world. So what I am getting at all of this is, if the corporate leash was tighter, why spend money, on a old duplicate ride that cost thousands to millions to upkeep rather than getting a brand NEW LIM launched coaster that could actually utilize the whole island and could break new records and draw crowds something that Six Flags Over Texas really doesn't need to worry about. And see this park ain't attached to that leash to tight, this park is allowed a lot of slack away from the others. They keep what they got because the big boys don't allow this park to play and spend its money freely, and also you could look at it this way- with them being the Missouri Coaster Capital, why lose a coaster; cause you know Silver Dollar or Worlds of Fun might catch up to that 9 coaster count while we could get our 10th coaster. Sure they got a "new" coaster this year, but was something cheap that every one has seen and quite old like Ninja, something to shove in are mouths like a bone to keep us quite for a while. So if we can live with a multi copy boomerang, a double Freeze, a copy of Pandemonium plus another copy of Batman; don't we deserve something to call unique? In that category we have Ninja, American Eagle, Boss and American Thunder (you could also count River King if you count the two separate sides different); so three wood and ONE steel (two if you count river king). -

Really, how much maintenance goes into this ride, than any other ride at the park? Second she is old, of course there will be more upkeep on her especially looking at her hybrid background. I mean take Mr. Freeze, that thing has been a money pit since they got that thing, sure its a fun ride but from your stance it is a costly ride to keep upkeep on it. I remember going opening weekend in 2011, Freeze was down for quite a while (days) cause they blew one of its transformers which is part of a modify power supply system because the ride draws so much power. ^And going with that knowledge, this park is much better in the way they operate as it sits outside the corporate dog leash. Look at Six Flags Great Adventure for example, and look how many rides they have removed over the history of time warner and premier owning the park. Now they got semi empty areas, and two SBNO rides, though I do admit from what I am reading they are doing a little better. Removing a ride, no matter how god awful is pointless, unless like Vonnie said the ride becomes a problem due to it not being safe or efficient. it still draws a crowd to a point and helps keep people happy. -

Ha the only guy who makes sense around here lol I know I saw someone give an argument on the land and the hilliness/rocky structure of the park in areas could be a problem, but like that person said they just used some good old tnt and kept going. The park owns 497 acres but only operates on 240 acres, so that is plenty of room, I suppose the rest is of the acreage is in the back where it gets more hilly/rockier. -

But see at our park, we have plenty of room to grow and establish, sure the Ninja may be past its time but to a lot of people it is still fun. I think she has an interesting layout especially the cool low ground helix at the end, and she is by no way boring. It is a piece of history, I mean how many Arrow/Vekoma hybrid coasters do you see everyday? lol They just need a lot of love which SFStL puts back into her to try to keep her running smooth as possible (now like I said new cars might help) Also remember this is the GP, not roller coaster techy nerds who want every park to break some record every year. I know of many points in the park where they can move or remove structures and would be able to build things like an RMC coaster or even a B&M dive; which like HWfan said it would be a good spot up next to Batman, but for me just remove the old Sky Way building/Arcade plus move the Joker and bam more room to grow and expand out into that area (which I think is service roads and going back out to the parking lot I think). -

^I actually like Ninja, it could use some new cars maybe to help smooth it out, I hope they don't lose that coaster. Actually HWfan, if you lose the old Sky Lift station/Arcade and clear out that section and move the swinging ship/joker, that would be an awesome new spot for a small coaster and maybe bring back some life to the Ninja and that area -

Since the ride has been SBNO since 1996, and after they closed the ride down they put a fake facade (year?) in the front blocking off the old entrance/exit; instead of putting a backlot area facade to the front they decided to put a gateway to the west/france front on the ride. What I am getting at is that is that they could have easily put a backlot front facade as such with the crappy looking slingshot area facade right next door and the themeing would look ok; so if they wanted to they could but they decided not to. But time has changed maybe they want to re theme or move boundary's, I would prefer a theme change to the area with the new rides name, but like you said we wont know until they or someone else finds out. -

OK if you read SFZIP it is officially stated in the press release Tsunami Soaker And this will fit the current site with some slight but not major modification, plumbing will probably be drawn from the restrooms next door or they can just repipe. I cant wait to see what this area is going to look like afterwards, and I hope they open the line of sight up coming from the backlot area -

Can't the thing is junk, the ride is probably worth more in scrap (whats left of it), then trying to fix it. Imagine: Years of rust Locked up parts from no grease Sitting out in the weather Weeds and dirt taking (and possibly sapling trees) over the structure -

Why not in the Hannibarrels spot? I was suggesting the area next to Hannibarrels a couple pages back for the addition of a couple flats or a junior coaster -

From what I've heard, no, for its age the amount of rust, plus being in weather all of its life it will never operate. Also the thing was already in need of repair when it closed, probably due to cost or the fact that they could not find the part. Now if they had a big budget and wanted to do a full refurbishment on the ride maybe, but we are talking about big kudos of money, I rather see a new flat any day. I rather see the the precautionary security then seeing it removed, though you are right it is a mess, I wish they cleaned it up a little and made it look better. The main reason it is a mess is that people refuse to cooperate and slows everything down. Now, though the park is small, it doesn't mean "safe"; Saint Louis ain't the best city in the US with high crime rate and such, and parts of southern IL getting closer to Saint Louis is not the best either. Parks like Disney and Busch, have top notch security so there is no real need for metal detectors and Kings is probably the same way for its size. I think thats because they added them shortly after 9/11 as most parks did, but since they are so effective I don't think to see any improvements any time soon. They have been pretty quite, but we should here big news tomorrow. -

Actually it looks like a pretty fun flat, it may not be much, but then again it is based off a tea cup flat so you shouldn't expect much. I'm just glad the park is getting new stuff, and something to finally replace the SBNO flat. I hope we have a good announcement this Thursday, and it just might not be Aqua an replacing Hannibarrels. People say that Voyage is great in at the beginning of the season, it ain't always so, in 2011 when I last rode it she was very rough; and I am coming from riding the Boss and Ninja at my home park SFStL which are also considered rough -

And to think this ain't there first let down, just look at POS Pilgrims Plunge/Giraffica made by Intamin I was able to get two rides on it before the ride broke down and me and my girlfriend, at the time, had to sit and wait for security to let us off the freakin thing The rest of the day (I was there from open to close) the ride was broke down. And to not to mention with family lawsuits/disputes up there rear, things ain't looking up lately -
In 1970 Funni-Frite of Columbus, Ohio started designing a walkthrough named the Voodoo Trail for the park. Based on a concept originally created around 1965, this funhouse would contain both dark and lit areas with plenty of gags. Let's take a trip back in time and get a ticket to the Voodoo Trail. Source

Haha awesome, who doesn't love tilt a whirls, that's why I am surprised SFStL doesn't have one, and you should mention to him about squeezing a junior coaster in there as an option. But I really think a couple of flats could fit well also, the queue lines for both flats would be big enough, and you can re theme that weird section. Plus you will bring MORE attention to that area since now the old hannibarrel site is being used (oh and get rid of that ugly facade on that dead on street and the one blocking the old entrance to hannibarrel) What other change next year are you talking about? I wouldn't think that it is about the SBNO ride. -

Lol, yeah it is odd, I have been able to squeeze by the billboard but is very awkward, I can't see why they don't open it up instead of having to walk all the way around. And to bad they can't reuse that path it looked like a very nice stroll, but as I keep looking at it, they would have to do something with the current buildings to hide them. And haha yes six flags really needs to get rid of those buildings. Also, someone needs to suggest this spot to Dave, this would be a very good location for rides. Thanks I know right, it is to bad we don't see those cars in the park anymore Demo the fake facade, get rid of the island, and use some of the back fence to put a nice junior coaster in. I never seen the circus side show, but I think they and we can live without it there if they can squeeze some rides there. It doesn't even have to a coaster they could put some small flats there. Heck I could see 2 dragon wagons fit in there, or else a rotor and a tilt-a-whirl as long as they keep the theaming down between the two. -

I was talking about these restrooms with the "windows": And I am talking about the dead in street in front of the facade now: Do you know I am looking at this photo and I am thinking a good opportunity for a small junior coaster or about 3 or more flats carnival style The left is the blocked off path with and to the right is the strange billboard in the middle of the walkway deal credit: sfstl.net and google maps -
