I really enjoy Ninja as I am one of the few, it seems, who passes the over the head restraints headbanging. All it really needs is new cars or retrofitted with lap bars if possible? and all should fine -

I was there today for opening weekend, it was alright but didn't have the same feel to it.. but, Freeze was up and down all day, never got a chance to ride it, it stayed closed since I believe 4 all the way to closing.. Boomerang was down, normal Tidal Wave was down, normal Colossus was down which was kind of sad as family wanted to ride The Boss was finally running by 3:30 like the TNT said, I was on the first car when they opened today, first car- second row :airtime; also glad to see new wood on Boss, though it was still rough, but fun non the less! Screechin' Eagle needs some love, a new coat of paint would do nicely Otherwise a very nice day at the park, great to see so much staff carry around brooms and pick up sticks! Oh one more thing, what was up with the security and the group of teens by Batman before they closed, I saw them moving them out of the park, then afterwards I heard they all got tackled and tazed, I guess they really pissed off security -

Also Mr. Freeze, when the transformer shot, on the second day of the season-I believe it was 2011; and the ride was down I believe for 3 or 4 weeks. -

^I hate their themed areas, never makes sense, I just try to ignore it and move on to the bigger picture COASTERS lol But also because of their limited space they seem to throw a coaster where it fits, boomerang for example, god I wish they move moved that ride or get rid of it as it is blocking a good view of Screamin' Eagles lift sigh.. or better yet Tony Hawks Big Spin aka Pandemonium, what theme has that to do with the rest of the area lol?? The new flat ride going where the Hannibarrels ride was, another good example.. -

Its funny to think the baseball team Cards are so so much better than the football team Rams, since I live in southern IL that is all I hear about is the Cards and the Rams never about Chicago Cubs or Bears (GO BEARS!) which is like talking about Satan around here. On the other note, man I have been living around here for years and still haven't got to see that much of Saint Louis, I still can't figure out how to get around non the less

What area really needs a theme park?
jk1w replied to let1gre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
How about Southern Illinois, not that we really need one around here, but it would be nice to have a park on the other side of Saint Louis as Six Flags StL is 2 hours away and Holiday World is another 2 hours and Six Flags in Gurnee IL is 5 hours away -

^ Well the thing is that the water park expansion would bring in more money than 1 coaster, more family's and bigger groups of people from the city and from the fairgrounds would come in and spend more money to splash in water then wait for a coaster that there whole family can't ride. -

According to the report they sent to the fairgrounds last year, they also were looking into putting a coaster over there right next to the new water park and behind or next to the picnic pavilion "a family wooden coaster" were currently the go cart track is, if I remember correctly. -

Yeah... stand-ups just aren't good, period. (imo) The only one I ever somewhat enjoyed was Georgia Scorcher. Floorless coasters are very similar to stand-ups without as much head banging. Point in case River King Mine Train when they decided to make a stand up versison and it only lasted a season or so lol -

Unnecessary Queuing Lines
jk1w replied to palmerleeberry's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The boss is long because of how far back it sits, currently it ain't going to change. Batman on the other hand everyone can agree on how incredibly long that thing is. -

I have seen the boss in 2 train operation, so three is possible ^ Also the boss does not tower over the rest of the park in terms of what we see, that would be Thunder as it is close to the front, or even more importantly Mr. Freeze Spike or Batman's lift hill. I never rode the boss the first 3 or 4 times that I was at the park, because I always forgot about the ride, or didn't know where the entrance was as you do got to admit the queue line is hidden and if you don't pay attention you can walk right past, like Pandemonium (which I still haven't got a chance to ride because of that very reason). Also the location, like Screamin' Eagle, is located in the woods; though you can see more of Screamin' Eagle because of the white paint, while Boss blends in with the scenery (which is nice and that's one of the reasons I like the ride). I have a lot of friends that I have known that preferred Thunder over Boss (teens at the time) when Thunder was first built, so saying teens are drawn to Boss is an understatement. And StLCPfan said it best ^^ -

No they didn't, The Gravity Group added the inversion and overbank turn. http://thegravitygroup.com/gravitycast/gravity-group-sends-wooden-roller-coaster-upside-down/ Ah ok, I thought I read somewhere that it did, but proves me wrong lol But anyway back to Holiday World -

Yes I know that the Hades wasn't built by RMC, but RMC did come in and fixed it into Hades 360. (sorry should have been a little bit more clear) ^True, though some park's just like to fix what they got rather then worry about taking out or making room for a new coaster, just saying lol -

I dont think it was RMC fault, Mt. Olympus gave RMC and Hades a certain budget and only wanted them to do so much -

I had a good laugh when I read this, just because I tried to keep American Thunder out of my mouth for a while, just because the general public and a lot of people seem to love this ride while I think it eh at best, more of a last good couple of rides before you leave the park. But like you said Arrow Dynamics fan, the coaster is always usually a walk on, though the longest I have waited was 15 min because some foreigner desired to take his camera on board and they had to shut down the ride. The other rides always do, I think the main reason AT lines are short is that it is located in relatively "dead" area, the only other draw is the log flume and the pitiful moon cars. That would be awesome to see new trains, come on Six Flags do it lol -

Nothing lol, I am just going on how much I hear these parts are to replace, like a new set of LIMS they gotta be in the thousands region- new wheels probably in the hundreds range- transformers easily a thousand dollars or more.. etc. Exactly -

Yes I am comparing the water park to HW, just because it is close to Saint Louis, I don't go to water parks I have never stepped inside of one I just compare what they got vs other parks; I heard though that Silver Dollar's water park is supposed to be good. And yes sadly Holiday World is becoming an over sized water park, with no real positive future for the dry park. Hopefully when Kentucky Kingdom opens up, they take some of there vibe away, as Hart plans to revival HW in the water park section. Yeah, because we really need a 4th wooden roller coaster... Thank you! lol Yeah I get it that Ninja ain't loved, yes I know that Ninja ain't the draw to the park, but for a lot of people i.e. general public it is a great side dish to park whether it is painful or not. Yes it does, but the point I was getting is the operating cost i.e. upkeep worth it when they can sell the ride make some profit off of it and get a new LIM launched coaster, or even have a dive coaster squeezed on that island, so that we can draw BIGGER crowds to the park plus make the park more money and might get some more normal esqe love from Six Flags. It must cost thousands to millions to keep that thing running i.e power, maintenance, wear and tear, the power station outside blowing thousand dollar transformers lol -

Yes I know that, I was stating that I in particular dont care for them lol, but yes SFStL water park is a laughing joke compared to what else is around the area. But they are money makers as they draw in local crowds and spend money just to splash in some water.
