Suprising Soakings
Waltrane replied to Kingsislandfreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Mine happened on Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom. My daughter and I were were still on the scenic part of the ride, about halfway up the mountain on the left. While we were still outside, a boat came down the hill and the huge jets of water that accompany that shot off towards each side of the main hill. What I never knew but quickly found out is where that water lands. We were not expecting it and were drenched. It was pretty awesome! -

I like option 1 with the twitter feed. Looks nice and I like the additional content from twitter. -
New Wanda Parks in China.

It's definitely reminiscent of Superman (that big arching loop). Isn't Wanda the firework company? -
The TPR Member Social Media Poll!

I'm on Twitter all day long and love your posts. -
Great update! I am really looking forward to this next year. Here's a question for Robb - unfortunately there is no way I can afford/get time off for the entire Midwest trip, but is there a way I can meet up with you for the day at Great America, pay that day's premium? It would be great to participate at least once!

Today's Burning Question - Loops or Hills?
Waltrane replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm loopy for loops. Yeah, that's pretty bad, but I've always loved inversions. Instead of looking forward, I love to look to the side and watch the world turn. -
Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread

I'm impressed as usual by Disney. I wouldn't normally think Ratatouille was the best choice for an attraction but that looks amazing. And I agree that Florida or California needs a trackless ride soon! -
I have no problem with short roller coasters. Batman is my current favorite in the park and Iron Wolf was always a favorite for me. 3100 ft isn't exactly tiny, neither is that 180 ft drop. Add all the crazy fun this one will do and my guess is I'll have a new favorite. Dang, it does feel like Christmas!

While yes, I wanted this coaster to be named Larry or Steve, it's highly doubtful they would've come up with as cool of a logo for those names. I'm ridiculously excited that this is coming to my home park. Kudos to SFGAm and RMC on this one and I can't wait to ride this next summer. I actually appreciated the whole Six Flags video. I like that guy!

So here's a good question for you that I didn't see yet. How do you get kids to get over their fears and get them on thrill rides? Any tips, tricks, or suggestions?

Disney D23 Expo 2013

Great report! Thank you for sharing, especially that there was no new Star Wars theme park news. Searching for that was driving me nuts. -

Did I miss the Orange Harvest announcement? -
I heard about the accident and figured this would be the best place to get an accurate account of what could have happened. I'm glad I was right. I follow you guys on Twitter (same screen name) and love roller coasters, unfortunately though not at your level! I am headed to SFGAm next month with my son and before my wife freaks out about safety, I needed some good facts so thanks to everyone here. I'm not sure he'll even ride anything at his age, but I know I've peaked his interest with Insane Coaster Wars. I'll let you know how that trip turns out.
