  1. Turkey legs, actually. Sort of a no-brainer for the Thanksgiving section. The first two containers arrived with Pilgrims Plunge conveyor pieces on Wednesday. Construction cam is up. Stay warm! Paula
  2. Will there be a splash zone for spectators? Yes! We just don't have all the particulars figured out yet and so didn't include it in the animation. Not to worry ... we "get it." Thanks, Paula
  3. Oh, yes we play Christmas music. All day. Every day. A reporter with the Chicago Tribune asked me recently if there's a downside to "Christmas 24/7." My immediate response: Barbra Streisand scat singing Jingle Bells. 'nuff said. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Paula
  4. ^ Aw, thanks. I knew it was you. I was hoping the reporter for the Evansville paper would include your guess, but he went with the cell-phone tower to prevent "dropped" calls. Both very clever ... the churro stand suggestion made me laugh out loud, too. Paula
  5. Brilliant! I love a twisted mind. Can I talk you into posting that educated guess on the HoliBlog? Thanks (either way), Paula
  6. The answer is ... Vaseline. They smear it on the walls, so the gum won't stick. What a nasty job! Paula
  7. Just ask Papaw. The pic is not Photoshopped. Not even the knuckles.
  8. The Screamscape mention refers to a totally separate project in the works for this year. Thanks, Paula
  9. As of Saturday noon, the story is the featured photo/video on Fox News Channel's homepage. Other links to videos are available over at the HoliBlog. Thanks, Paula
  10. What? Is the floor too good for her?! I remember when one of my boys was little and we were at our company Christmas party... Somebody dropped a piece of food and my boy scooped it off the floor and stuffed it in his mouth. Will's wife saw it and just about laughed her head off. Guess it didn't harm him any... Paula
  11. Arrowfanman: May I have permission to use that photo on the HoliBlog? Paula
  12. As part of Food Allergy Awareness Week, we announced that Holiday World now has food items available for folks who are allergic to the eight most common food allergens. Please head over to the HoliBlog for more specifics. Thanks, Paula ADMIN EDIT: for those that are curious the eight most common food allergens are wheat, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, milk, soy and eggs. - Larry
  13. We just started the other day. I'm writing a news release about it and didn't want to claim we're the first theme or amusement park to Twitter unless, well, it's true. (I know, what a concept.) Thanks, Paula
  14. Here are some of the emails we get fairly frequently: 1. Would you mail me a brochure? (no name, no address) 2. How do I get to your park? (but they don't tell us where they are) 3. I can't find the Banshee on the park map...where is it? (I'm always tempted to tell #3 to keep looking.) Then there are the phone calls: "Are we on the same time?" I posted a few of my favorites:this and this on our park blog. Never a dull moment! Paula Paula Werne Holiday World PR
  15. Vividly: http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/2007/05/bakuli-buzz.html . I don't think you look stupid ... just really, really cold. Thanks, Paula
  16. Dang! Who went and made me a "high-ranking official"?! I've been called a "suit" before ... that always makes me laugh. I remember the day Tomi was here with the TPR group so well ... as it was our park's birthday, August 3. I made a stupid joke about bringing a birthday cake for everyone to enjoy, but that Robb saw it first and ate the whole thing. The hearty guffaws were much appreciated. Thanks for the invitation to post more often ... I'll try. Paula
  17. Talented fellow, no? http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/2008/03/quick-on-draw.html ...brightened up an otherwise gloomy morning. Paula
  18. Unfortunately, the producers (over in Europe) opted to instead go with "famous people" from their side of the pond rather than coaster enthusiasts from the U.S. It was really a shame, as there were a number of truly sincere people interested, and the interview process had already begun, getting some hopes up. Paula
  19. ...and what better gift than a HoliWood Nights getaway with her beloved offspring! ...right? Paula
  20. The HWN '08 flyer is now posted on Holiday World's website: . Please note that you must be a member of one of the listed partner clubs (or the guest of a member) to attend. The HoliWood Night for Dummies section has also been updated. Please review carefully before emailing me with questions. (You'd be amazed how many don't. Well, maybe not...) Thanks -- and Merry Christmas! Paula
  21. I think this fellow may disagree with you: http://www.fool.com/investing/dividends-income/2007/11/30/you-must-be-this-tall-to-ride-in-cyberspace.aspx. But...then again ... he's a Fool. Paula
  22. What?! You don't want a boring lecture? Gosh, I read you enthusiasts all wrong... If you're familiar with our park and the Koch family, you'll know what to expect. I fully expect those who "get us" to enjoy the announcement ... and those who expect a high-budget, slick piece to say we're "lame." Paula
  23. Actually...we made the "big" part of the announcement (Kima Bay) a few months ago. We promised a secondary announcement when other decisions were made, and that's what's happening tomorrow. Paula
