  1. I actually want Dollywood to have a true haunt event but I never see that happening. My wife and I always travel to other parks for true haunts, usually multiple parks a year Luminights brings a large enough crowd for them so not really any need for a haunt like other parks Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  2. It's the day before this season starts, they usually have a media day that day. I don't think Friday the 13th is a clue or anything but might be Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  3. I've read elsewhere online that Dollywood plans to announce their largest investment plan ever on March 13th at 10:30 Id imagine the new resort that's been rumored and then another 5 or 10 year plan of additions for the park. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  4. Yes, if you have time to make the drive to Chattanooga, I suggest going. Probably a little more to do than Knoxville Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  5. School groups can make the park busy during the day but most leave fairly early and the parks dead afterwards. You might get a good 2 hours after th schools leave, but school groups are something to consider. My school would always take 6 buses so that's 90 passengers give or take a bus. Usually several schools are there at a time so it can add up quickly. And these are ride kids wanting rides! Plus the festivals bring in a decent crowd, but older crowd so the festival crowd might not cause any ride related issues. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  6. It's a hotel now! You are ringing a bell. Not sure how much of the station remains a museum. Tennessee Valley Railroad does have a museum though so some of it might be there now Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  7. Same here, not sure. Chattanooga is a nice day trip from Knoxville but it's also far enough that it isn't one that I take very often. We would actually rather spend an extra 45 mins and drive to Atlanta when in that area. My last visit was for the aquarium and to spend time downtown. I know the train ride is still there but not sure about the museum Edit: are you talking about this https://www.tvrail.com/ Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  8. In Chattanooga (did you mean to say Chattanooga or do you mean Knoxville?) I suggest the Tennessee Aquarium. Much better than Ripley's! If you plan to visit Ripley's and budget only allows one aquarium I'd pick Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga and skip Ripley's and I love Ripley's.. Tennessee is one of the best aquariums in America! It's very underated!! It's two buildings now! One building is saltwater like ocean creatures and the other is freshwater and a lot of fish types you don't see elsewhere because so many aquariums focus on the tropical. This building focuses on rivers of the world instead of oceans.. They also have a butterfly section that you can walk through, birds (all included) and usually some traveling exhibit in a nearby building (travelling cost extra)(last time I was there it was Dinasours) as well as IMAX (cost extra) https://www.tnaqua.org/ Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  9. That's why it's a good test lol. Six Flags had very short windows originally and over the years, those windows have grown. However, lines are usually short during that time anyways. After 1 or 2 the afternoon storms hit and they grow greatly... Also I feel people at Splash eat later so one meal does them all day.. Maybe Dollywood thinks that's actually the "slow" time for lunch. It's the slow time on days when I am there. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  10. So it appears Dollywood is offering dining passes at Splash this year... I hope this is a test and it's coming to Dollywood in the future! My wife and I would use the heck out of it at Dollywood Edit: Added link https://www.dollywood.com/waterpark/Dining-Pass Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  11. I'm looking forward to this. Actually haven't even renewed Dollywood passes yet due to this! I'm hoping some pricing might pop up soon on season tickets here and if so I won't renew my superpass and will only get the standard gold at Dollywood. We love water parks but Dollywood is getting super expensive and this one is actually 15 mins closer, and a lot closer if traffic is bad. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  12. I don't think it's a direct analogy, but I do believe analogy works with how RMC handled it. If the Oldsmobile was mine, how did the dealer handle it? If the dealer took care of me, I would go and buy a trusted model from them. How did RMC handle this situation? I'm sure publicly, we will never know the truth. In my eyes, they handled it fine and continued to work through the issues until it was corrected. Behind the scenes, did Dollywood have to threaten legal action against them or anything? If the answer is yes, I don't see them going to another RMC. If the answer is no, why wouldn't Dollywood deal with them again? It shows the can be trusted What I'm trying to say, if a product was crap, I would go back to the company if they made it right and took care of me. If not, I might blacklist the company and not use them again, at least for a while. Customer Service and after purchase support can go a very long way I'm not speculating that RMC didn't take care of Dollywood properly. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  13. Sat April 11th might be very busy, it depends on the weather honestly. I've been late March, early April and on a very pretty weekend, you can expect some of their largest crowds of the year, right behind Christmas. That's because late March, early April is very pretty around here. It can be low 70s, plenty of sunshine and that's when the locals feel the place up. If it's colder, the crowds will be much smaller. I've seen some of the Easter Saturday's be really dead and some be crowded. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  14. Their Facebook was trying to tell people to hold off coming until 6:00 hoping people would leave I guess The park never hit capacity, but they were turning people away who needed to park. People were parked in the grass and pretty much anywhere they could find. It was a very pretty day today though so not surprised Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  15. Mini Golf had a full lot lol and Jurassic Jungle Boat had 3 or 4 REAL cars. Then their two fake cars that never move It's no biggie, we are locals and the entire area was swamped. One of the first times I've ever seen Dollywood turning people away though Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  16. FYI Dollywood is turning people away today. So packed, we got turned away Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  17. I didn't notice any difference last night but it was dark and I had a large jacket on so hard to feel the difference. Also, they've never bothered me. Most of the evening was 1 train ops so also possible they only changed out on one train Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  18. The island is a very good choice. It's constantly on the top Amusement Parks list that trip advisor sends out. It's free to enter, pay to ride, and full of shops and restaurants. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  19. Yeah something like that haha. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  20. Nothing special on New year's Eve. They tried a few years ago and it flopped, but it also rained so unsure why they didn't try again. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  21. Yes but these top tier passes at other parks include all their parks for free With the new waterpark coming to town, my wife and I are holding out on renewing our superpass to see their prices Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  22. It's getting to the price where they should toss in SDC with the gold pass.. The gold pass at Dollywood sounds to be more than I paid for my CF platinum pass, and that includes their water parks. I'm sure this is a feature that wouldn't be used much and for the guest who do use it, possibly only used once a year. But it would build value Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  23. This is true! My wife and I drove up to Kings island a few Fridays ago and then on up to CP on Saturday. We had a blast, not flashpass or anything. Crazy busy! Still plenty to do and we planned the mazes so we were able to hit most and still grab a few coasters at night Side note got a free upgrade to a lake view at breakers! My wife made fun of me for always requesting it in the notes, without paying for it or doing their upgrade thing that cost money. I told her it never hurts to ask and this time we were surprised when it was lake view! Proof that it never hurts to ask they will sometimes honor it! Balcony and all Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  24. November usually. They will be good for Christmas and 2020 Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  25. Depends on how many days, if any, local schools are out. Some build their Spring Break around Easter, depending when Easter falls. During the week though, I figure you will be fine and crowds will be smaller Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
