  1. So what's going on with the Heartsong Movie then? Sounds like they're trading one former picnic area (the old Timber Tower platform) for a new one with the old footprint of Sideshow Spin, LOL. The interactive map on the website has it listed as having 3 story telling movies for the kids.. each about 20 mins... I don't pay much attention to that side of the park so no idea how new it is or not Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  2. Got it.. the version I posted is in the new version of the Android App.. it's also the version found on-line Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  3. Lighting Rod is on my apps map (the app has been updated).. Also the interactive map list another show in heartsong theater Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  4. It's very similar in design to Whistle Punk Chaser is my guess.. that area is due for another renovation and removing sideshow spin will open room for another flat there.. The entire "fair' area has gone almost all kiddy and I feel Dollywood can do a much better job making it feel like a fair and by putting some rides that are a little more extreme fair rides.. yes, kids need rides to but I hardly ever visit that area anymore.. a good mix of rides is needed there Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  5. I personally like VR and think it'll be very boring on Acrophobia but oh well.. I still feel blue hawk would be a good choice for it. But VR on a ride going up then down once I feel will be lame Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  6. Yes, only the entery fee is free the second day. At least that's how it was when I last used that deal over 10 years ago! It might of been changed Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  7. I thought Blue Hawk would be better than Ninja. Can't be worse. It's much better Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  8. Stay late as well if possible.. I go in the evenings a lot and even on the busiest days, the last hour or so is a good time to grab a lot of rides on the coasters.. the lines are fairly short then But, depending on where they plan to soot fireworks, some of the coasters might close during the fireworks Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  9. The one section he talks about is very dull.. they don't even put Christmas lights up there and music is on/off there.. but I am glad there is a connector so that I don't have to walk around lol! Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  10. The switchbacks help with the hill.. makes it less noticeable and might be needed to be ADA accessable (not sure on the ADA part) Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  11. Overall though, I'm sure the GP would rather have quick service and just pizza in general so I understand why they are doing it.. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  12. Maybe haha, if they can somehow keep it fresh I'm sure it'll still be great..I mean, I loved the value and novelty of the huge slices but the most important part was the taste and quality.. if they keep that, ill probably still love it I haven't had time to view the pics yet (they aren't showing on mobile) but could anyone tell if the stone ovens are gone for lumberjack? I'm sure if they are going to premade personal pan pizzas they will switch to those pull through ovens like Little Cesar's and pizza hut use. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  13. Lumberjack's and Dogs 'n Taters were the only food joints I really enjoyed at Dollywood. I'm really sad that they're removing the GOOD pizza, it was surprisingly decent for theme park pizza.. I hope it's not going to be the same swill they have at Victoria's near the county fair area. Theme Park pizza, even the pizza at Victoria's (beside the country Fair) taste like frozen pizza to me . It probably is!! BUT lumberjacks was fresh baked.. heck, you could watch them doing it.. Although thinner, it always reminded me of stone baked Pizza from Mellow Mushroom or from Whole Foods or other fresh baked places.. you could taste the difference, and it was excellent pizza. They can still make fresh personal pan pizza and if they do, I'm sure it'll be great.. I'm just afraid they will go to your typical frozen pizza though I would be willing to bet they won't spend the time freshly preparing each individual personal pan pizza.. that would take a lot of time. I understand wanting to increase capacity and line speed but I never really stood in line very long for that restaurant. They had plenty of pizza, pre cut pizza, and just handed it to you.. it's still a bummer to me but there is still plenty of good food I guess ha-ha Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  14. I just honestly wished they put it on Joker, the Larson looper, and call it a day. Not put it on any coaster. I know a lot of folks on here hate the looper but it's actually a very popular ride in the park that really needs a longer line (lines always full) and people always seem to have a blast on it.. I don't think the VR would be very fun on it.. Honestly, I like the VR and think it's neat.. I like VR in general though.. Six Flags Over GA just needs to find a better way to use the VR.. putting it on a coaster that has much better capacity would be a start then having more Ops to facilitate it would help.. They should have at least two full trians of folks ready to board at all times ( the boarding train and a standby).. I know that's a lot of headsets but this is what will keep the lines down! I know they are also worried about people stealing the headsets but if they have a controlled environment and the staff, that shouldn't be an issue.. coasters NORMALLY only have one way in and one way out! Hahaha Implemented correctly and VR is a great thing.. if you don't like it, just pass on the headset.. if it's implemented correctly, it shouldn't hurt wait times. 15. I'm still sad about the pizza but the freestyle machines are welcoming Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  16. No more large pizza is the worse news ever! That's why the line was so long there.. now it'll be no different than the other pizza joint.. that rlly didn't not make my night haha.. the lines where never super long like a lot of restaurants.. I bet it also has to do with cost cutting.. but I really loved the restaurant Hopefully it's still made the same way and not some cheap personal pan style tiny pizza.. if the flavor is still the same and still that stone baked pizza style I'm sure I'll still enjoy it but the novelty of a large slice of pizza is gone. I always see families buying the entire pizza and just see their face when they bring it out haha. Curious to hear about other projects.. I know they planned to do a lot of remodeling this year.. A lot of the park needed a facelift and it sounds like they are getting one.. glad to hear they are moving a lot of AC units to rooftops and out of sight.. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  17. Exactly, the key phrase is what they looked like in 1970.. almost 50 years ago.. even the originals at Disney look light years ahead of BF now.. It's time for a modern dark ride for Dollywood in my opinion. I'm not sure Dollywood a ever got new animatronics for BF, they just repaired the broken ones (yes the old lady who "has been kissing that steam train" had a broken arm for years it seemed haha) but the new trackwork was very welcomed.. the hills are now so smooth! I love BF and not saying it's a bad ride, just saying it's time for Dollywood to build a new ride to go with it it's actually one of the only rides I ride pretty much every visit. Me, personally, I love boat rides.. I'd love a modern flooded mine.. or maybe incorporate the "haunted aspect" like someone mentioned above and do a haunted flooded cave.. or maybe just a cute boat ride of some type Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  18. Yeah I'm not sure either.. I know the last section with the drops was redone.. the video was funny because it was actually when RMC was redoing a lot of coasters so the maintenance guy was like "I don't want any rumors to be started, but RMC is here working on Blazing Fury".. this was a year before LR was announced I believe.. maybe 2 years, not sure Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  19. Exactly and the fixed the old ladies broken arm that was broken for years haha Are you sure they did the entire track though? I remember the video about it a few years ago and they mentioned only doing the drops. Not saying they didn't do the entire thing, I just don't remember it haha Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  20. Hopefully there were more coasters on that list because if they do anything like the announcement with Samsung (and I'm sure they will) that pretty much puts the VR on mindbender. The announcement clearly has the word lift hill in it.. now I'm sure they could do something different than the corporate announcement but I don't believe they will personally.. I hope it's not on mindbender either Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  21. I think when and if they do open one, it will be shooting if not just to compete with Justice League at SFOG but also the shooting rides at Disney are some of the most popular with families Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  22. Oh yeah, I consider it a pure dark ride as well but with all the more modern dark rides out there, and with six flags over GA opening a new one this year (yeah it's a clone of other parks but still) it's just time for Dollywood to build one that is very modern and that captures the area very well.. Blazing Fury has lost so many elements and scenes over the years, it's kind of hard to make out the story now even though it is a great ride and I hope it stays for years to come! Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  23. Looks like Six Flags has announced their new VR stuff.. not sure if it's coming to SFOG or not but it does look like it will be back in the Six Flags chain anyways Not sure I like the idea of a mixed experience.. the "unknown" is what made the VR special to me when I finally got to ride it.. the mixed experience will take away the unknown.. at least the entire coaster isn't a mixed experience, looks like after the lift hill it will go to all VR https://www.yahoo.com/news/six-flags-newest-roller-coaster-215118590.html?ref=gs Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  24. What I really want to see is a Disney caliber Dark Ride.. A large Dark Ride with lifelike animatronics complete with smells and everything! Now I know we won't get anything as awesome as Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney (price wise) but it would be nice to have something at least on par in quality and size. Dollywood is unique, the area is unique.. I'm sure they could come with with something for a Dark Ride that would be very unique Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  25. This is my guess as well.. When they said it a few years ago I figured LR was the last coaster on their 10 year plan.. I figure they still have one major attraction on their 10 year plan though and that's a Dark Ride.. (my opinion anyways nothing official) I thought their 10 year plan also included expansion up towards the train loop as well so they will want something large for that area.. Might be hard to build a large building up there for a Dark Ride though so who knows, maybe the final part of the expansion is one more coaster. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
