  1. This is my thinking also. On a busy day. I head to Tatsu first. Then there is almost no line to Superman. Then it's down the hill to the back side of the park where it's empty.
  2. I was there Monday and some L.A. schools were out, so it was a nice size crowd. Yolocoaster is only running one train so do that first. Scream has one train as does Gold rusher. Skytower is closed because they are working on the elevators. Revolution is closed. Colossus was closed. You can wait until 2:30 to ride X2. For some reason thats the time of the day when the lines get very short.
  3. No one said it was going to be torn down... And realistically, it never will be until its not able to safely sit there and rot. I heard they were having a problem with an elevator a few months back. But it's most likely just waiting on a structural inspection that I think they do every year.
  4. I was there last Thursday and it was running one train then also. I'll most likely be there this Thursday. But for some reason riptide has not be open the last 3 times I've been there. Riptide has been down for a while now, they were doing some refurbishment work on it and as far as I know they are awaiting approval from the state to reopen soon. I don't work again until Friday, but hopefully Ghost will be back to two trains this week. I've yet to see you when I'm there. But the odds are good that I'll run into sooner or later.

  6. Was at the park Thursday. Run into some people I follow from a facebook Knott's site and had a good time. The park was empty and it was a warm day for this time of the year. I love what they did to the log ride and I can't wait for the mine ride to be finished. For some reason they had a very very slow crew at supreme scream but the rest of the rides were quick to load.
  7. I was thinking of going this Thursday. But I could also go again next week.
  8. True, the only problem is the walk to your car takes forever unless their is some closer exit/re-entry point than I was aware of. I found the walk to only be 8 or 10 minutes. It may seem longer because I have to find my car.
  9. Ya two local ones. Make a rt on the old rd at base of entrance to 6 flags and go about 4/5 miles and its on left side, if you get to Calgrove you went to far and should have just eaten at Jonny Rockets inside 6 flags and saved 90 minutes. I agree with the don't drive out of magic Mountain to get lunch as they are a little drive away. If it's hot then the ac of the car and the ac of the place you eat may be a good reason. If you don't like the food at magic Mountain. Then you can just eat a lunch or dinner in your car... as it's faster then driving too far.
  10. I agree. The season dining pass does help bring me to the park... but it's not a great year for new rides.
  11. I've been reading this and I have to jump in on this. I've been to Magic Mountain and I disagree. Colossus feels like it's not getting attention. The ride was good, but there was no line, and only one side was operating, while we waited over an hour for other rides. That whole section of the park feels cut-off and unloved, and converting Colossus to I-Box would draw more people to that area of the park and liven it to to feel new again. I think it's a bit bold to state that a ride is or isn't getting enough attention, especially by someone who has never been to the park. I prefer quality over quantity. A new coaster may be new and shiny, but Colossus and Scream feel like they're getting left behind. I, along with many other enthusiasts, I'm sure, would like to see Magic Mountain invest in bettering itself before adding more attractions. I agree. They need to work on that whole area of the park that Colossus, the old Ben and Jerry's and Scream are located at.
  12. Unless I'm misreading it looks like middle school grad nights are May 16 and June 6 Middle School Grad Nights PDF Yes,that's what I remember reading. But the new way they do events on their web site makes it hard to find other events.
  13. This is EXACTLY my thought as well. I really like the idea behind the ride, and honestly, when X or X2 first opened and it ran smooth, it was incredible! But over time as they got rougher, I liked them much less. I'm hoping the use of RMC I-Box track and the free spinning instead of the more jerky controlled spinning motion will make this ride much more enjoyable. I think you are right about this. This design looks like it's both more affordable for a park to buy and it looks like it may run smoother for a longer period of time.
  14. I think they were looking at putting it near ghostrider. There is room back there. But I can't see this as being on the top of their list as this doesn't seem to be their direction anymore.
  15. I should be there Both day and Night Wednesday the 30th and Maybe Thursday The 31th. I'll look for you in the day time as it shouldn't be busy then.
  16. I agree that it just needs work...But they have too many coasters and not enough maintenance people to handle what they have now. How long have they been running one train on scream?
  17. Agree. Apocalypse has gotten really rough and Colossus has somehow gotten smoother. (Not smooth, but smoothER.) Ive really enjoyed my last few Colossus rides and cannot say the same for Apocalypse. 100% completely agree. I took my very first ride on it in the early evening before WCB night ERT started, and didn't even care to go back to ride it during ERT. When I was in the queue, I looked closely at the track to see (and hear, it was squeaking in the turns) that there was no grease on it. When it opened as Terminator in 2009, I guessed it would get rough in less than 5 years due to poor maintenance, and I guessed right. It felt like the train was running on octagonal wheels (by 2015 it will feel like hexagonal wheels, and by 2020 square wheels considering how poorly maintained it is as of now), and I got off with a headache and feeling like my spine had been compressed. I'm NEVER riding it again until the highly unlikely event (it's SFMM, what do you expect?) of a major retrack, and expect to only see reports of it getting rough to the point of being unrideable. Really hoping CGA takes care of Gold Striker the way they are taking care of Grizzly now, as I would hate to see it get rough as well (I've got my hopes up since CGA has a proper off-season). Agreed. If any ride can use an Iron horse at Magic Mountain it's Apocalypse. It already has the twists and speed that will make it right for an Iron horse.
  18. Not entirely true, In the peak summer season both Canyon Blaster and Road Runner Express have lines. So what you're saying is that you have to go on the top busiest days of the year for those rides to have any sort of lines? That just further shows how the park doesn't cater to families. Agreed, One look at the Yoloplaza stage will show they are moving to the teens and not the families. The fourth coaster in the kiddies area is for coaster count only.
  19. This is sooooo "California"... bitching and trying to deflect blame to someone else about something that was their clearly fault to begin with. I'm in now way making excuses for any lack of customer service at Six Flags parks, but how many times to they tell you to put items in a fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo, etc, if you don't want to lose stuff? Sorry lady. Your fault for losing your phone. No one elses. Suck it up and get a new one and stop bothering other people. --Robb I was walking under X2 exit where you see ride photo's and a phone just missed me. People are always trying to shoot video on phones on rides. Don't they know these are projectiles. Your right, We in California do complain too much.
  20. I just watched this. I didn't know so much goes into finding talent for a haunt event.
  21. I posted about it pages back. IIRC The employee said when Osha was looking at the new evac system they signed off on it...But they didn't like a ladder inside the tower...Why they didn't say that the first time they closed it I don't know. This is just what an employee told me when it first happened. Screamscape reported a different reason. But it looks like the employee may have been right. ^its the ladder inside and outside they didn't like. Oh okay, thanks for clearing that up. I didn't know it's the outside ladder also.
