  1. I thought that the natural wood color would look fine, but I do think grey will look even better! Can’t wait to ride that reverse cobra roll.
  2. Here is mine: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I can’t speak to MM policies specifically as I’ve never been to this park, but in my experiences at other Six Flags parks, they usually close off the line and let everyone that was in line shortly before close get a ride. Funny enough, some of the best ops I’ve ever seen in my life happened at Goliath at SFOG when the crew had an hourlong line at park close.
  4. I have to agree. Just anecdotally from attending the park regularly for the last 5 years or so since I became an enthusiast, the clientele at the park does seem to get worse around this time of year. I won’t speculate as to why, but I have noticed it as well. I haven’t seen a break in necessarily, but usually there are more people hanging around in the parking lot or otherwise loitering outside the park with no evident purpose during these later Fright Fest nights.
  5. What a great way to sum things up. This is exactly why I’m on this thread. I’m an over-stressed law school student in need of a few sweet, sweet moments of entertainment, and this thread usually has something amusing going on.
  6. Heaven forbid I try not to be cynical about the world... That peeled paint on JL is atrocious. What a sad sight.
  7. I always enjoy your park videos and I appreciate the perspective you provide. Really want to get to Hersheypark one of these days, and this gives a nice taste of what a day there is like. Thanks!
  8. Like so many of us, I had to stop by the park by yesterday supposedly to process my 2018 pass. Showed up at the park around 4pm, and it was absolutely packed. I got “lucky” finding a spot in the tiny corner section that is on the far east end of the main parking lot, but plenty of cars were hunting for spots with no luck. I’m sure the free admission with a blood donation had a big impact on attendance yesterday, but it was still a little surprising to see it that packed for the first Sunday of Fright Fest. Anyway, I got my pass processed, walked over to Twisted Cyclone for a status update, and headed out. Unfortunately I didn’t see anything new to report. Didn’t see any track on site yet and it looks the same as the photo posted here from about a week ago.
  9. I noticed that the park was closed to the public last Saturday, I guess for some special event or something. That, in combination with the number of people that were trying to get 2018 passes processed, might have contributed to your crowds. I also need to get over to the park to get my new pass processed. Has anyone noted more progress on Twisted Cyclone? So ready to see some of that beautiful blue track get installed.
  10. They really do. I hoped so hard for this conversion after visiting (and hoped they'd go with blue rails even, pretty sure I posted that here forever ago!) But yeah this parks lineup is absolutely fu*king stacked. RMC Cylone a really good B&M hyper a really really good, classic custom Schwarzkopf multi-looper, the BEST Superman clone a good Batman clone the best B&M standup a classic, really good out-and-back woodie a really great 3-lift mine train a really great unique drop tower a really great classic dark ride a really great modern dark ride a refurbished classic Vekoma (yeah Im reaching with this) a Skyscreamer a great Gotham city etc etc etc I love this park so much. It’s easy for me to forget how much we really have because I visit this park 8-10 times a season usually. But when you put it like that, we do have a lot going for us! Not to mention some charm that just isn’t matched by many of the other corporate parks. A little surprised that I didn’t see anything announced for White Water. Did I miss something?
  11. To echo some other comments, I absolutely love the blue rails! I also really like how they’ve preserved the first drop while giving us something that looks messed up in all the best ways immediately after. It would be easy to complain about the length, but I’m thrilled we’re finally getting an RMC and I’m hopeful it will tear through its course.
  12. Yeah, that's probably a really good starting point. For anyone who has ridden both blue hawk and its former iteration, ninja, how big of a difference do the new trains make for the ride? Is it night and day, or just marginally better? Ninja to Blue Hawk is like Night and Day. I disagree with whoever said that it is a boring ride because it isn't. It is a custom looper with 5 inversions over the water. It still has it's shuffles, but with the new vest restraints, the shuffles don't bruise the sides of your head. You can also see better without the OTSR's. It still isn't a great ride, but it is SO much better than it was and it is actually rideable and re-rideable again. Definitely agree with this! It went from something I rode once a season just to torture myself, to something that I now usually ride and find enjoyable. It is now comfortable enough to me to be a fun ride, and that’s a huge improvement!
  13. On the next episode, we'll show you how to use PB blaster to break loose old hose clamps, clean shotguns, use as a sexual lubrication, and resurrect Jesus Christ. Stay tuned... I’m dead. Thank you for this.
  14. Laughing at what was basically an advertisement for PB Blaster as much anything else, but that was a nice little behind-the-scenes piece anyway.
  15. This is absolute truth. I have to say, I’m really hoping this is the year I can get up to KI. Mystic looks like a lot of fun.
  16. So ready for this off season to over. Who else is going to be here on opening day this weekend?
  17. $50 bucks and I'll tell ya anything you want. You and Coasterbill have me laughing more or less hourly these days. Never change. Hey! Are you joking around or do you seriously think my posts are so stupid I should just stop bc I'm new to this. I just want to know everyones thoughts on when the next two coasters (RMC Cyclone and S&S 4D Most Likely) are going to come. You’re fine voyage. We’re just having a laugh because, as RollingCoasting said, no one really “knows” the future of the park. Heck, I don’t even think Six Flags knows what’s coming next sometimes. There have been numerous rumored instances in the past where rides supposedly got switched between parks just prior to announcement time. Goliath, our B&M hypercoaster at SFOG, is one example of that. It was supposedly intended for SFStl and corporate decided to send it to us instead at the last minute. I don’t have any special knowledge, but I’ve heard that rumor floated many times. In my humble opinion, RMC Cyclone seems less likely these days. The water park at SFOG has proven quite popular in its first couple of years, so one might argue that it needs expansion more than anything at the moment. I’ve accepted that our next coaster will probably be an S&S Free Spin or whatever small clone Six Flags is high on at the time, and I could easily see it fitting into the back corner of the park where Whistlestop park used to be. The dream for me is a launched anything. Welcome to the site though! As many will tell you, you need a healthy sense of humor around here, but it’s a great place. I laugh daily from stuff on TPR.

  19. Meanwhile, I’m just dreaming of the day I actually get to visit Cedar Point...
  20. This year they're opening on March 11th. Did they push it back up? I’ve been on opening day for the last three seasons straight. As best as I recall, March 11th is the same weekend they’ve opened the last couple of years. I’m positive about the last two, 2014 is a little fuzzier.
  21. I support this. I’m not really a Christmas music kind of person, but I love what these guys did with their Christmas album a few years back.
  22. I have also heard them advertise the speed as “70mph” over the PA system in the queue. I always knew that there was no way it was that quick, but I never got around to finding the official number. That’s definitely a bit of an exaggeration from 63mph though... TT is no doubt a kick butt ride, but the inaccuracy irks me just a little bit.
  23. I agree that it isn’t a rough ride, but I’m spoiled by easy access to its sibling to the south at SFOG. The lap bars are a game changer on euro fighters in my opinion. MM is fun, but it’s never done as much for me as some others, probably because of Dare Devil Dive.
  24. This is truly exciting! I love all the little things SFOG has done over the past year to become a better park.
