  1. Yeah the Park was hopping back in the late 70's/early 80's, all thanks to the Screamin' Eagle. I remember the $5 after 5 deal which was huge. I have some Newspaper clippings from back in those days (Media Day for Jet Scream), I will have to scan and post them.
  2. BGW is an awesome park ... incredible actually. The Rides, Theming, and surrounding Landscape would make anyone a theme park junkie.
  3. I guess we feel your pain DILinator. I am not familar with MiA so I can't say much about it, but the last 15 years at SFSTL are not growing pains. The park is over 40 years old, it is Middle-Aged (or older???). It needs attention, not drastically, but a descent amount of attention. We all know it will never become a King's Island or Great America, but when a small park like Holiday World outdoes us or even Kentucky Kingdom in 2016 then someone at Corp must take notice. Again Justice Leaque is a big Win but they can't stop there.
  4. Ah, I see that I'm not the only one who reads Screamscape... Also, Six Flags Over Mid-America is now Six Flags St. Louis. HWFAN - Not sure if you are in the "Know" or not, I do enjoy reading your posts and appreciate all the info you share on the board. I am very much on the side of Prozac. I have been going to this park for decades (Rode the S. Eagle in '76 (I was 9), Rode the Jet Scream in '80, Rail Blazer, Sky Chuter, Mo Mo the Monster, Tiltmore Hotel, even Super Sports ... etc etc. I am a huge Amusement Park Fan, been to a lot of them - Disney (both coasts), Knotts, Busch Gardens(both), Cedar Point, KI, and so on. Anyway, it Is frustrating see other parks evolve, upgrade, renew, refurbish, redo while our park gets stale with Hand-Me-Downs from other Parks or new rides which add no value (that teacup water ride, whatever it's called - getting new Bumper Cars would have been a better choice). I do think Justice League is a Huge win for our park, too bad is it plagued with issues this year. You have been boasting about the future of our Park and I hope you are right. Guess time will tell. I am a firm believer in 'If You Build It They Will Come'. SFSTL needs a Modern Steel coaster in the worst way and until that happens I will be going to other Parks around the region/country. Might plan on my first trip to KK next year. RMC Is Building So I Am Going.
  5. Search Youtube "Forest Park Highlands Comet" and it will take you to an old Video of the coaster.
  6. Yeah, that's a great website. My parents and relatives would talk about going to that park. The Golden Days of Amusement parks
  7. It had chaser lights way back in the day. Looked awesome too. The lights did not cover the entire course though, just the lift and the first few hills which are over the tree line.
  8. Ninja - for replacement The Boss - for RMC makeover
  9. The Good News is you can go to Kentucky Kingdom and ride there RMC next year! Or go to Six Flags St. Louis and enjoy that RMC track that is on Boss right now. Hmmm... nope.
  10. The Good News is you can go to Kentucky Kingdom and ride there RMC next year!
  11. I agree with 4 of the 6 mentioned above.
  12. You know a Hyper wouldn't have all this downtime.
  13. That makes too much sense, so unfortunately it will never be considered
  14. Don't touch the Eagle! ...although I did enjoy the video.
  15. Google STLMAG, great resource for Dining, Entertainment, etc
  16. No complaints here ... Medusa/Bizarro would be an excellent addition to the park. It would draw in huge attendance for sure
  17. No way! If we get one of those Loopers I will get violently ill. One of those things comes every May with the traveling carnival at the South County Mall. People can Ride it there. It will be interesting to see attendance figures between Holiday World (Thunderbird) and SFSTL (JL) next year at this time.
  18. Anyone know SFSTL's attendance number for 2014? seems like all the numbers are out per another post.
  19. I just can't see SFSTL exceeding 9 coasters. The park is not that big nor do I think corporate would want it that 'big' either. Just a hunch.
  20. My reasoning for scrapping the Ninja are these: 1. The Ninja's current footprint would be perfect for a new Station and Lift Hill. The new coaster's layout could enter the east side of the park, plenty of room for any type of Element imaginable. 2. The Ninja has been here since the Mid 80's, it's shelf life is done.
  21. I also vote for just Topper Track and new Trains, although adding a Barrel-roll where the Bunny Hills are (behind the station) would be pretty awesome . The Layout is great ... just smooth it out. Do Not touch Screamin' Eagle! Replace the Ninja with a new or used B&M Floorless Multi-Element (something like Kraken or Scream), then SFSTL's coaster line-up would be complete.
