New B&M trains on Steel Dragon
hollinwp replied to Trevor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think they would be a huge improvement, but I HIGHLY doubt Magnum is even a candidate for these new trains. I don't think B&M trains can handle the ejector airtime that Magnum delivers, where Steel Dragon (I'm assuming) looks like its pacing and forces are on par with a B&M hyper coaster. -
[RCT2] Lakeshore Park

Great update! That expansion looks great and the family coaster really fits well into the park. Great landscaping and everything too, keep up the great work! -
The thing about Knotts however is that Coast Rider was announced much later than Yolocoaster was and the fact that Yolocoaster's clearing started much longer ago. Now Knotts is moving slower than I would hope, but I think it will come up much faster than Yolocoater. Knott's at least is also doing a lot of internal improvements such as Boomerang's paint and the renovation of the log ride. If California's Great America started clearing land around the same time (which I believe they did but do not quote me, I could be wrong) and has Gold Striker also nearly completed track wise, and is a much longer ride and more intricate to build, then Yolocoaster should be getting close to being completed instead of just barely starting.

I personally also love Drag Race, I don't know, I'm not a guy that anyone expects to watch it, but I'm fascinated by the transformation and how entertaining it can be. Season 5 is looking great so far and they have some great contestants!

I drove past the park today and the dive loop is much tighter than I thought and actually looks like it can produce some decent forces! Also it was a rare sunny day in northern Ohio and Gatekeeper looked beautiful against the sunlight and really popped. It is just such an impressive looking coaster! -
[RCT2] Lakeshore Park

Great coaster! Absolutely loved it, only thing I would suggest is to raise the final helix around 5ft over the water, it looks like its touching the surface of the water and it might look better just a little raised. But great work so far, can't wait to see more! -

If there is one thing I would love to see at Cedar Point for 2014, is a remake of the Pirate Ride and renovating the Blue Streak plaza for its 50 year anniversary. Fingers crossed though. -
Carowinds Discussion Thread
hollinwp replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is pretty common for Cedar Fair parks, and although Carowinds is a rather large park in the chain, it is not the biggest by far and this trend of attractions shouldn't be surprising. I mean look at Cedar Point's additions since Maverick, that was a starlight spectacular, planet snoopy, shoot the rapids, windseeker, and finally Dino's before we got Gatekeeper. There were 5 years with additions that weren't huge either with both Windseeker and Shoot the Rapids having difficulties in their opening season. Also King's Island has not had anything substantial since Diamondback, which is now 4 years without having anything major, King's Dominion is in the same boat as Carowinds as well. I mean at least Carowinds isn't Valleyfair which has had to wait since 2007, or CGA who is well deserved to get their first new coaster in a decade. This isn't supposed to be rude, but Carowinds got a good boomerang, and a big B&M hyper, the park is probably good for a couple more years. Especially with Windseeker being marketed as a "thrill ride." -

I just said last year that they needed one of these! Couldn't be happier with this addition, it's one of the best types of drop towers out there, adds more thrill, and is just the perfect fit to the park! -

I've heard some volare's aren't necessarily horrible, I mean I heard the one in Finland is tolerable, I'm hoping that Zamperla can find a way to make it a better ride, its been a couple of years since the last one and I'm hoping for the park's sake that its much better! -

I mean it is possible in theory, but not many coasters do that, all of the other wing-riders, and most other coasters are the same in that if there is no MCBR, there is usually two trains that can operate at once. The only coaster that I know that goes against this is Corkscrew at Cedar Point. -
In Northern Ohio, Chipotle is god. That place can do no wrong in the area and lots of the Cleveland suburbs (west side) have them and all of them do amazing business! I could get buried in Chipotle when I die and would be completely happy with that!

Amazing work! I can't wait to see what you do with other rides. I love the foliage around the Boomerang especially! -

In all honesty does it really matter? I mean this is the largest wing-rider yet and is offering a lot even if the ride is primarily heavy with the action in the first 3/4 of the ride. I mean there could not be a MCBR and be a two train coaster at the end of the day cutting the capacity. I'm just glad the end of the ride isn't like Adventure Express. -

As of right now based off this game neither the Bengals or the Texans deserve to make it to the next around.

It's looking pretty good! The only thing I'll comment on is that your speed slides end way too quickly, I believe they were called the Turbo Slides, but it might look better if they are extended, along with that pool, just a bit further, but great work! -
I just don't understand this park. I know that they must have a master plan that included LLDOD, and Full Throttle, at least in the planning process when they were updating Superman. It just seems like a waste to spend millions of dollar on this "new" ride, only for it to be closed for construction already twice now. I don't understand why SFMM couldn't have waited to install LLDOD and Full Throttle first, then do the Superman renovation. Unless the Superman renovation was rushed after they saw Tower of Terror do it in Australia.

I think X-Flight has a pretty dramatic ending, granted I haven't been on it but the long inline twist with the near misses and the helix seems pretty exciting to me!
