What parks are you visiting in 2020?
Taeshan replied to VF15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Definitely (In general order local ones randomly) Cali Trip (March) Magic Mountain Knott's May Road Trip Holiday World Kentucky Kingdom Kings Island Cedar Point Kennywood Local Season Pass Hershey Dorney Great Adventure Plausible Colorado Trip Elitch Gardens Knoebels Trip America Trip Possible Depending on When USA-Mexico is Six Flags Mexico -
Glenwood doesn't seem like it's exactly what I'm interested in. Different kind of thrills. I've booked the road trip, and la trip. Something along the lines of the idea presented above. I'm doing 2 days at Magic Mountain and Knott's hopefully a minute somewhere to get over to the Boardwalk in Santa Monica as well, but we'll see.

Thanks. My friend not as excited as me about Football, or Soccer, so going to my favorite team's stadium not on his list. At least i got him into the Union. Now if anyone has some info on Elitch Gardens or a short trip around LA hitting Magic Mountain and Knott's (looking at two days at both. Would like to get to Universal, but that would cost money huge HP fan.) as it looks like i'll be headed there for games and making weekends of it, that could be useful. Don't want to clutter another thread. Denver in May, LA in March. Right during potential spring break which is half interesting, and half scary.

That's a good itinerary. I think the Friday thing is something I'm going back and forth on. It depends on how many people are going, if it's just me and my friend maybe we do the Friday thing, but if we get more people it will be harder to make that work. ME and my friend work together so we have similar time off policy. (different departments) It's a matter of making everything work. I know I want to visit the Library, but is their easy information on Paul Brown tours, and such. That would be fun.

With my new job i'm making way more than I need for my living situation, but I'm way worried about saving to buy a good car. (renting for the drive in the summer), so I'm trying to do this trip without too much of a cost. I think we're planning worst case 1200 a person, but if we get 2 plus people more it goes down. Or if we have a more reliable car we can drive out there.

Hello everyone, looking at making an Ohio, Indiana trip next summer. Looking to head down Friday after work (Lancaster, PA) drive out for HoliWood Nights saturday. Stay in Cincinnati 3 days and hit Kentucky Kingdom one day, Kings Island another and use the third to do some stuff in the city/drive (I'm a Bengals fan and have never been), then spend two days at Cedar Point (weekdays), and hit Kennywood on the way back. All stops would be first time, and hopefully full days. Any tips would be great. We have season passes for Cedar Fair through Dorney, so free entrance to those two+ parking. This is a budget trip so cheapest possible hotel/ air bnb ideas would be appreciated.

So we basically ended up going on everything once except Harley Quinn, and Kingda Ka. Me and my one friend left to go ride Batman a few times front row at the end of the night as the Kingda Ka line was listed at 70 minutes, my 3 other friends got a quick ride in but me and the other pass holder hit up Batman. Bizzaro we also did twice. I'm a big invert fan, and more of a style over size and speed guy, so i really liked Bizzaro and Batman, and loved El Toro. Will get Kingda Ka next month, and hopefully down to America this summer. Nitro gave me to much Ejector air time for my liking, and I basically doubled my coaster count in one day. (before today was everything at Hershey save Wildcat, Sidewinder, and Laff Trakk/new water) and Skull Mountain from a quick trip last year. Also talked to my friend about rehitting Dorney (lost another 60+ since we went last year so was able to get on everything easily today, started at 360, was down to about 320 for Dorney and Six Flags last year, at about 270 right now. And fighting that good fight.

We're going for the first time this season tomorrow, last year we basically just drove down to get our passes, and this year we're actually doing stuff. I've read that rundown of what to do and such, but I am wondering about some other stuff like which rides don't have bins that i will have to have someone wait around. Because I don't want to risk losing anything on a coaster, as the luck I have in life my pockets will empty like nobody's business. We're also going a little after opening, so getting to stuff right away might not be easy. I worry if we will get to hit everything in 10 hours, but I am hopeful.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Taeshan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just a noob question i noticed that it was mentioned that last year tickets went on sale for coastermania in march and me and a few friends were looking to go to that or holliwood nights, more like this as its slightly closer and we can hit kennywood on the way home. What I am wondering is they didnt just sell them when they announced it until they were sold out and i missed it? or is it they just announced dates so you could make plans and then later will announce the date tickets are available? -
Where Are You Going in 2018?
Taeshan replied to ytterbiumanalyst's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Since i now have six flags season passes I will definitely hit Great Adventure and America. I also live close to Hershey and haven't been since Skyrush was built so am looking to go back (school and gaining weight. I'm losing it and have friends who Iknow want to do stuff) and then we promised we'd go back to dorney after i had trouble getting on stuff a few months ago (the weight loss is a process) and we're hoping for that. Finally i really want to head back to Knoebels as there is a lot new there since the one time i went about 10 years ago and i was in my not riding the rides phase anyways so haven't been on anything there. -
Hello. Long time TPR lurker, mostly on the Hershey page. But anyways recently purchased season passes (flash sale) to six flags with a friend and we're going to Great Adventure to pick them up soon (live halfway between there and America basically. So chose them as the main) and just had a few questions since i've never been there. What to do at the park besides rides and stuff when we're there, what are the good places to hit for entertainment, and what to skip and not do. Also the second one is i'm a lot overweight and me and him recently went to Dorney (sister had free tickets) and I couldn't ride anything that i wanted to (im a huge coaster fan, but was mainly interested in Hydra and Talon, but not say Steel Force due to height and stuff. Thats an issue, i Mean i've been on Skyrush and loved it, but i tend to like the less tall and more elemental rides if you catch my drift). So how is Great Adventure's fat friendliness i guess. I am losing a bit of weight so by next park season i'm hoping to be another 30-40 down, and i've already lost 30-40 since i started working out again. (my mom died around the same time as I lost my job, so although i was always overweight it got a bit out of hand until I got to where i'm at now). Thanks.

Alton Towers Discussion Thread
Taeshan replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well at least the coaster will look sweet. Hopefully if i ever get to England i'll be able to get to Alton Towers. So many cool coasters. Even if Oblivion would not be a fun one to go on. -
Knoebels Discussion Thread
Taeshan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Knoebels is a park i've been watching much like Dorney and not to the extent of Hershey, and i probably wont make a trip til i have more friends i can convince to go, or other friends besides my usual park friends as we are a bunch of poor college students and are already looking at either Great Adventure, or Cedar Point (which for us would end up a three day trip, two days for driving, 1 there 1 back) and im getting one of them to possibly go to a USA soccer game for my birthday. With that sad either way i will wait until they figure out Flying Turns, and im not a huge fan of drop towers so this one doesnt excite me as much. Hopefully it will not be to long until i hit up Knoebels for what i think will be my third time. Really like how they continue to "save" coasters and such. -
What's your favourite part of the ride.
Taeshan replied to mark.w's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When i get through the first drop and am to the actual core of the ride and it does whatever instead of diving me towards the ground. I could care less about flipping around and stuff, but i really just hate the first drop. -
Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
Taeshan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wish midway america or something would go towards more actual midway rides like Gravitron, Round up excetera and add such somewhere in the park. Some of my favorite rides are flats that are known as carnival and fair like rides. Especially during my off heights days. -
If you could tear down one coaster
Taeshan replied to coasterfreaksrttd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Roller Soaker oh....wait never went on it but every time i looked at it i and thought about it i just wanted it to die. -
Since ive only ever ridden coasters at Hershey, though i have been to other parks i just have been only on coasters there. As such i was afraid of heights for a period of time between my younger riding days and this year which is my first time back on. So Skyrush is the only debut season ride ive been on yet.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
Taeshan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hersheypark is the only park ive ever ridden a coaster in. Mainly because most of my life i was too afraid of the height. When i was younger i had a one year where i rode coasters in our yearly trip to hershey, about two years later we stopped going and i had since then stopped doing it. Love Hershey love the fact that the soaker is on out, love all the theories, love that it probably will expand. Big fan of the Wild Mouse relocation idea i found to expand the water park. Miss Canyon river so much. Only Coasters ive ever ridden were that year, and this year when for the second time me and my friends went up, last year a physics class trip this year a post senior year trip. Its only an hour or so away so hopefully we will continue this each summer between college end and start, might try to convince them to do it more than once, and perhaps try out Great America or Great Adventure as i have always been a fan of Six Flags though have never been. (Big Roller Coaster Tycoon nerd where most of my roller coaster love basis is) Anywho i actually got on skyrush this year, the day i got back on a coaster for about the first time in around 10 years. Just got to remember to get on Comet or SDL before everything else to get myself in the right mind. Or Trailblazer, i actually went on that during one of my scared years. What coasters i have gone on in order of favoritism Great Bear Skyrush Lightning Racer Storm Runner Comet Superdooperlooper Wild Mouse Trailblazer Never went on Roller Soaker cause i have always felt it lame even though it wasnt that bad, Sidewinder scared me and then my friends dont like it, Wildcat was just generally not one of my favorite rides to look at, and Fahrenheit i was told not to go onto due to the degree of fall and my medical condition which we found odd at the park that day that i was allowed to go on Storm Runner... Also im a big guy so every time i think about my next hershey trip i start to work out more. lol. Only one i was close to not being able to ride was the Racer and Comet was uncomfortable, and my favorite Great Bear had to be pushed in...Oh well if only i had started riding after my first season of football when i was the lightest i have been in a while. Anywho just telling you.
