  1. It is. https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/attractions/green-lantern-first-flight
  2. For all we know the tree could have been rotten? Natural causes could have made this tree fall. I don't think removing all the trees would be the answer. They might just trim branches here and there... Assuming they aren't rotted.
  3. Wow. Didn't realize how much the front car was hanging like that!
  4. That's what everyone says about Indy!!! I wish I took more advantage of going to the park when I was local. Of course, as soon as I moved away my family got APs and went all the time... BOO. And thanks for the tips, @rcdude! My family keeps saying they don't want to "plan their whole day" but I keep telling them that it's best to at least have some sort of game plan. They underestimate how hectic Disney can (and will) be in July. Oh well, regardless, my husband and I can do our own thing.
  5. It's possible it could be running soon... but it's most likely the state is gonna want to do an "investigation". Oh well, if the ride opens, you bet I'll be riding it when I'm in town!
  6. I've read reviews about the Clarion... but we got a good deal from getawaytoday.com. I figured we're hardly gonna be in the hotel anyway, so I don't think it'll be a problem. They did offer free parking, so we're just gonna trek it to Disney on foot! We are in fact doing a VIP dining deal for World of Color so I think we're set for that show. Thanks for the tips on fastpasses! It's my mission to ride Indiana Jones... all my visits I've never had the chance to ride! First time I was too young and was scared to ride. THEN my last visit in 2011 it broke down AS we walked up with our fastpasses (which happened to be late in the evening so it didn't reopen for the rest of the night).
  7. I absolutely cannot stand how most people are so quick to judge. People on Facebook were automatically spewing out how this happened due to the park's negligence. This one guy on our local news page went on a rant about how Six Flags doesn't care about the safety of their customers and how their so negligent that, and I quote, "people have been dying on their rides for decades". I replied with "So, if a tree in your yard falls because of a big thunderstorm and lands on someone's car, that must make you negligent too, right? You must not care about the safety of your family or neighbors." Oh well, I'm still going to Magic Mountain in a couple of weeks. Shame that Ninja most likely won't be open. I'm glad that no one was seriously hurt. This whole thing could have been way worse. Almost as worse as how the media initially made it out to be. Our local station had a headline of "4 people hurt as roller coaster CRASHES at Magic Mountain!"
  8. I'm so excited to visit back home to SoCal and hitting up Disney for the first time since 2011. Best part is, I get to bring my newlywed husband (we're getting married on the 26th!), for the first time with his family. I leave this question to you experts. We'll be staying at the Clarion hotel from the 27th to the 30th. Attending Disney from the 28th to the 30th (3-day park hopper). What's the best course of action as far as fast pass and whatnot? I believe we get one magic morning with our vacation package. Probably going to utilize that time by going to Radiator Springs [if allowed]... I downloaded the wait-time app, I've seen how horrendous the lines get (Thursday the wait was 110 minutes. WHAT.) So... if any of you have mastered a game plan to make this visit pleasant... feel free to share your tips with me! I grew up 40min away from Disneyland - but this will be my 3rd time going, ever. I usually just hit up KBF and Six Flags (which we're so planning on doing again this trip!) Thanks! Ps. also if you have any restaurant recommendations around the area (doesn't have to be in the park). Woo!
  9. Yeah it feels like SFoT is going downhill... which is a shame. When we visited last week we saw restaurants being closed nearly 3 hours before the park even closed. Talk about losing revenue... considering we were looking for somewhere to eat. And only one of us had the silly meal pass thingy and he's only been able to use it once. Dispatch times on Titan and Mr. Freeze have become super slow. I can understand on NTAG considering the incident... but the last few times I've been the employees at Titan seem to drag their feet and just want to talk to one another instead of trying to beat the timer. On our last visit: the second train would wait several minutes on the brake run waiting for the first train to depart. Same situation on Mr. Freeze. Ps. You could tell the park was flooded where Shockwave and Runaway Mine Train are. When we got into the tunnel on RMT it smelled AWFUL. My friend said they should take one of the misters and just spray Febreeze in there. LOL.
  10. Went to the park and had a pleasant surprise: we got to "preview" batman backwards! Must say... it was pretty neat but I think I prefer it going forwards more. Park wasn't terribly crowded. We got there around 6:30. Pretty good day. Mr. Freeze was a long wait. Judging by the amount of rides I saw going I believe they were only running one train. no red train on giant either. Just the blue and black. Ps. I wish they'd utilize all 3 towers on superman! One tower ain't gonna cut it lol!
  11. Today was chaotic. Went with friends and the storm hit. Helicopters over the park showing the flooding. blahhhh!!!
  12. I went yesterday (Monday) afternoon since the rain went away mid-day. Crowds were really light. All rides were pretty much a walk on. SO, if it does rain tomorrow (Wednesday), and clears up, you should be golden. Weather is saying we're supposed to get scattered storms all week. ---- On another note, when I went to Texas Giant yesterday, they were still stopping people at the ride entrance. Did a whole spiel about locking up loose articles and whatnot. When I got to the ride and it was my turn to ride, they must have been training people. The guy on the opposite side of the train asked if I was riding alone and I said yes. Then he whistled for the other operator and did some weird hand motion on his face (like he swiped the side of his nose) and then held up 3 fingers. She then came over to me and asked if I had anything in my pockets. I said no and pointed to the mesh baggy attached to the cart in front of me, which had my phone and keys in it. She asked me a couple of times and even had them unlock the restraints. Wtf. THEN the guy was like "No. Number 3!". We both look behind me and there was this little girl (had to have been like 7 or 8) sitting BY HERSELF on the ride. She had to be height checked (again, apparently). Employee didn't even apologize to me for harassing me about possibly having stuff in my pockets. Held up the whole dispatch of the train... What's the point of having the employees at the entrance if they're just going to check people again up at the station? This whole process is a little overkill. I understand they're being cautious, but holy moly there HAS to be a better way to handle things.
  13. What if it's nothing "new" at all? What if they're just adding some new elements to Roaring Rapids? When I was at the park last week I noticed the sign (didn't even think to post about it), but I DID see people walking around near the platform/exit area.
  14. Here's a question for you guys... Has anyone called the line-jumper hotline to report line-jumpers? I got a survey for visiting the park and I suggested having a texting hotline to report line-jumpers... Last night - while in line for Titan - there had to have been 3 groups of kids that ducked under the beams to get to their group ahead. While the line-jump hotline is a good idea, I just can't bring myself to call this thing while in line and verbally describe people out loud for everyone else to hear. But dang it I can't stand when people cut in line. It's so rude!
  15. in which case, that should be #1. . . on the way to NTAG. folks think Wild Mouse load slow. . just wait until you're in line for La Vibora. . . get on it first thing in the morning, before there's an hour + wait. It's definitely the easiest ride to get to in terms of distance from the park entrance. I love me some Vibora! But curse the long line.
  16. I'm not kidding, if you put them on that first you may never see them again. If you really want them to jump in the deep end just take them on YOLOcoaster first. It's short but the hang time, the backwards, launch, and the end brake run will jump start their adrenaline. I think the OPPOSITE suggestion was to take them on Green Lantern! Heard that ride is painful.
  17. Stopped by the park after work last night around 7:30pm. Man was it packed. Just getting into the park on its own was challenging... why was it so slow just to get into the gates??? Processing the season passes took a while too. They only had one person working in the processing center. We didn't get to ride much. NTAG was closed (or so we thought) until around 9pm. The line filled up rather fast so we didn't get to ride it. Operators at Titan were dragging their feet something fierce. Two train operation and it seemed like they didn't even bother to try and "beat the timer". Second train would wait for the first train to depart the station for a few good minutes. I've never found myself waiting more than 15min for Titan, and last night was a good 30min wait. All in all, we only got to ride the mine train and Titan until we just gave up and called it a night. Hopefully later this season it won't be so packed at night and we can resume our "arrive to the park late to beat the crowds" ritual. lol.
  18. Look at it this way. Mr. Freeze has A/C in the queue. NTAG does not. In my past experiences with getting to the park right at opening - NTAG was always open from the get-go and Mr. Freeze opened a litte later in the morning. So I would go NTAG first then Titan, then head over to Gotham to ride Freeze and Batman.
  19. I like using this site to kind of monitor the crowds for a few days to guestimate how crowded it'll be. If that makes sense... www.isitpacked.com/ And if they're scared of coasters... I think SFMM is the WRONG place to be. LOL! But, to answer your question... X2. (totally kidding!)
  20. Thanks for the input on the FP, guys! I think we're just gonna go ahead and get the flashpass anyway. It'll my honeymoon and I want to make the absolute best of it. Would love to ride the rides over and over until I'm sick of it. It's been years since I've visited the park! I think the last time I've been was 2008? Crazy. Glad I'll be able to - well, hopefully - ride Colossus again before it goes bye-bye.
  21. Hey guys! So, I'm getting married next month... and returning home to SoCal for a few weeks (wedding is in CA.) We're gonna take advantage of our season passes to visit the good ol' Magic Mountain. My Fiance has never been so I'm excited to take him. Question is... Flash Pass. Worth it? Any tips for the flash pass? We're going to Disneyland too and people always have a game plan for the fast-passes there (slightly different, I'm aware. Seeing as how those are free). I've never purchased a flash pass for my home park (SFoT) because, well, it's local and I can always come back whenever to ride anything I missed previously. Thanks in advance!
  22. So glad to hear you guys had a great time this year at WCB! Knott's is my "home" park. I grew up in SoCal - recently moved to Dallas, TX. I miss Knott's terribly! I love lurking on this forum and reading your posts. Knott's was my absolute favorite park to visit growing up.
  23. If any of you are going to the park this weekend - please be sure to post pics of the new trains/test seat! Normally we go on Sunday evenings but we recently started a bowling league that meets Sunday nights. Boo! I don't dare go on a Saturday. LOL!
