Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
garbanian replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not trying to be that guy here. It really is unfortunate for the family to have lost their loved one. I just want to know if they'll be opened tomorrow, sans raptor at the worst. Had a group that was going to go and we're all coming from not the closest parts. Want to cancel now rather than when we wake up at like 5AM to get ready. -

What Rides Scares the Crud Out Of You?
garbanian replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'll ride just about anything, even if it scares me, but one thing I hate riding are the giant swing rides like Sky Hawk at Cedar Point. Those things are absolutely terrifying! -

PMed! I responded already haha. I havent been to Kings Island since the loop was still on SOB when that was around. I can't wait to GP the hell out of this. I've been feeling the urge for a dark ride since there is no more Disaster Transport at CP (not saying it was great, but it was dark) so FoF is going to be stellar. -

If anyone will be at KI on Wednesday and would like to meet up, lets plan this! I'll be there with a friend, leaving from Cleveland area. That being said, if anyone wants to go thats on the way from Cleveland to Mason, I wouldn't mind picking ya up for some gas money -

Hey everyone! I'll be attending the GKTW event tomorrow throughout the day. I'll be going as a single rider, so if any other single riders are interested in grouping up for the day let me know! Also, if anyone that is staying all day needs a ride in the Elyria to Cleveland area, please let me know and I'll see what I can do -

I'm taking a trip up on Thursday, even with the rain we're supposed to have. Id like to get out of the house and do something right quick. If anyone else will be there, we could always meet up. -

Is there anywhere to buy Smiler merch in the US? I'm totally wanting a lot of this gear, but I have no way to really get over to Alton Towers. Thanks, Garb -

Hey Johnny, I'll be going the 11th, 12th and 13th, I live about 30 minutes from the park and have a small group of people going. We're not really going to fast passes, but I will be with a friend on the 13th! Let me know if you feel like joining in!!! Cheers, Garb -

Walk Of Shame? Theme Park Wise
garbanian replied to Rollercoaster Rider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When I was in high school I was too hefty for all rides at CP except for Maverick. I've dropped a lot of weight since then, 45lbs, and now I'm only not able to get on the MF and TTD. I also had the boot on El Toro though, but a nice Ride Op squished me in and it was fine. Still working on dropping more weight. -

I heard about that on the news the other day and thought it was a pretty grand idea. Should get a few more people in for a weekend. -

Just an FYI, seeing more and more CP is making me more and more excited. I'll be heading to CP most mondays of the season with a plat pass. If anyone is looking to tag along, let me know and we can work something out for going. I typically do full days there, open to close, or midday to close. -
What will be the FIRST coaster you ride in 2013?
garbanian replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This this and this. -
Made it most of the way through. If there are guests and such in the park(s), I'd love to see something like a fast pass system in the park. It would be a neat way to give the NPCs some intelligence, in a sense, and a way to test the park owners with designing their fast pass system. Whether it be a seperate entrance way, or just like some parks have with a scan in feature. I'd love to see some sort of dark ride feature, i love dark rides to NO end. A construction phase. You prebuild the coaster, and then it actually takes time to build in park. Watch the cranes come in and manipulate the terrain, and watch the park goers(if there are any) marvel at the new structure being built. This would be awesome to see with wooden rides and steel rides alike. I'm weird like that though.

I ended up getting a season pass for 2013, and with my work schedule, I have off Mondays. I plan on going at least 3 Mondays of the month, if not all of the Mondays (and a few other days too!) Only downside, I don't have anyone to go with for most of these days. If anyone wants to hit cp up as much as possible, hit me,up! If you're in the area of Cleveland/west of Cleveland,,I wouldn't mind carpooling as well. I have a parking pass thing as well with my pass. cheers, garb. you can always pm me, or email for a quicker response - ohnoesitsmeh@hotmail.com please excuse the spelling or grammar, I'm on my phone and don't care enough to go back -
2013 TPR Tour Questionnaire is out!
garbanian replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We always get new people on the trips, and they do just fine! There is an initial deposit, then two subsequent payments as we get closer to the trip. We have always worked out with people smaller payments more often if that works better for their schedule. This is not a problem at all, just needs to be agreed upon with me before hand. Everything else you say is correct. There are times we're all together, times we split off into smaller groups, and times you can go do whatever you want. So then this is perfect. If the Japan trip is picked, I'll be more than happy to shell out for it ! -
2013 TPR Tour Questionnaire is out!
garbanian replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I may be new to the forum and no one really knows me, but I'm more than down for the Japan trip. I'm not sure how these TPR Tours work entirely though. I know it's deposit based, so does that mean a %age of it is up front and I can pay the rest sometime before a deadline near the trip? I could totally do like 500 up front and pay the rest monthly or something. This would, actually, be the only way for me to do it. So the trip is 7-10 days, correct? Travel to/from most places is covered for the Tour portion. We'll have time to explore without the group as well? It would be neat to run around for a few to check it out. In all reality I would only stay for the TPR Tour part, as money would be an issue past what I can get for the tour, plus a little extra per day for extras. Cheers, garb
