  1. I'll have a full review up on Tuesday, but thought I would share this with you first: Rode Wooden Worrior four times, grabbed a hot dog and was walking back to my car and realized I lost my keys to my band new 2015 Honda Fit... Three hours later and having the park engineers look under WW for them with no luck, my father drives 2 hours up to bring me my keys so I can journey on up to lake George for a camping trip. Morals of the story: never forget how amazing your parents can be, no matter what age AND use the carabiner you put on your keys, the ONE time you don't will turn a $14 dollar trip into an extra tank of gas, two12 packs of Sam Adams, and at least a year of ridicule from the immediate family.
  2. I agree, I think we need to keep in mind that only 5 or 6 parks in the US actually try to impress us, the major enthusiasts. Holiday World is a family park. They do have some great thrilling rides, but your not going to see them build a massive omfg intense ride... Even Voyage is more on the fun level than the intense level (same idea as Boulder Dash). This is an amazing addition to the park! I agree about the head scratching theme, as it's a bit of a stretch from thanksgiving (everyone make sure you discuss thunderbirds around the table in November!) but I'm sure we will see them transition into this farm theme with future investment along the pathway to the new ride!
  3. Im not seeing a flywheel as they said in the webcast...
  4. I'm getting a bit sea sick watching this animation... love it
  5. its always the last few minutes that suck the most! hope I have no internet problems, that happened when SkyRush was announced... than again, there crappy No Limits version of the ride they showed was... pathetic...
  6. Could you imagine how funny that would be! Just walk over to the camera give a little eyebrow loft and then show a portion of the plans and wall away! UHG. SIX HOURS TO GO!!!!!
  7. I find that unlikely... B&M seems to stick with what they know, they're not concerned about getting you to the top of their lifts quickly, rather building a reliable ride that has next to no day to day problems
  8. What ever it is, I'm sure it's going to be thrilling. HW has yet to put in a major attraction that did not get the enthusiast community excited. I'm sure tomorrow night will not disappoint!
  9. My plan right now is to show up at 4ish, get on wooden worrior for full price (gasp!) and then hit the 50¢ hot dogs on the way out. Best of both worlds!
  10. It would fit well, but it would not happen, the park doesn't pull enough high thrill seeking people to make a mult-looping coaster economically feasible for the area... SFNE is within a few hours of driving, and it's not the right clientele for the park... That being said, I'd love to see it happen, but I don't think it will
  11. 50 cent hot dogs after my rides, paratrooper, check and check. I just bought a new 2015 Honda Fit EX, so getting drenched is not happening! Thanks for the insite!
  12. Oh, sorry. I rode them both back in June (Thunderbolt again in a few weeks at the TPR event!). I'd say they're pretty comparable, neither stood out to me as more or less constrictive... I'd say there pretty on par with each other. If anything, I would say that the straps on Thunderbolt does nothing but bother you and possibly take away your focus during the ride.
  13. I'm heading up to Lake George on Friday, meeting the rest of my party in Albany Friday night, and the timing is terrible to get the NYC to meet up with them, so I thought I would head to Quassy for a quick stop off and get two rides in on WW. Is there anything else in the park worth doing, I heading by myself, not that I think that matters at all... Also, thoughts on the best food in the park? I'm going to need a little snack for my drive! Thanks
  14. Yes, I was at Hersheypark back in June. Condor is a great ride! Very entertaining, and fun. I'm thinking more along lines of the thoughts of the general public. Going from putting in IRAT to putting in a Condor2, just doesn't seem like it equates to all this internal hype. Especially when you see how Six Flags has been announcing all of their new rides throughout the chain in one press release. It reminds me a little bit of the experience of when they put in sky screamer at great adventure after the year of Green Lantern... It really wasn't hyped up as a large addition to the park complete with rumors and internal focus throughout the park during the season before it was built. I think we're looking at something a little bit larger than just an amazing flat ride... Then again, we could all be wrong and it could be something small and they're just making a big hype out of it because they can. When you think about the cost of putting up a balloon on the string and tweeting out a picture, publicity is taking care of itself at pretty low cost.
  15. The lap bar on thunderbolt is much more comfortable. It swivels to allow a broader location of contact... The straps on the other hand concern me, right now there very loose, but they seem to be able to ratchet in the future, which I think would be very uncomfortable...
  16. Could it also be a reference to hight? Hyper coaster maybe? I know a drop tower of any type is out since there is already an S&S... Just a thought, I know it's most likely not going to happen, as we have yet to see Six Flags dump that much money into SFFT that quickly... If it is a Condor2, this seems like a lot of hype for something really not that impressive...
  17. I completely agree! It needs a nice medium sized steel ride. I feel like something on the lines of Dollywood's Mystery Mine or something from maybe Zamperela (Thunderbolt really is a solid, small park ride) would fit the line up beautifully. I feel like something by the haunted maze would pull people deeper into the park too!
  18. I also noticed they release them a little bit when you hit the final brake run before the station so your not uncomfortable waiting for the train ahead of you to dispatch.
  19. Very true, but a pucprchase of a large bag of kettle Korn on your way out is a must! There right by Goliaths Cobra Roll!
  20. Robb, Any idea on a time frame of when Coney Island will be finished? I'm trying to get a friend to come with me, but he has work that night! Thanks!
  21. Sad to say it, but I wish they just out a drop tower ride in, instead of all this drama...
  22. It does bother me too, I wish they would cut the cost of a ride down by just .5 or 1 million and clean up the park a little bit... Half a million can go really far when buying plants and rebuilding pathways and such... Hopefully they will start to walk around the park and just open their eyes to what has happened in recent months...
  23. So I wonder what the long term plan is then... It makes sense that the "New Hotness" would take top bidding with capacity, but when both rides are no longer new and are pulling about the same amount of people in the lark, I wonder how they will run it then...
  24. I tried to do both parks a few weeks back... Sadly QL was closed to a private party... Both parks are definitely doable in one day. I would suggest doing QL first, since it is truly small compared to other parks of the region... I really enjoyed LC. The rides are pretty good, and it was a nice park to just hang around! I can't speak for the water parks as they aren't really my thing. What I can say is that the gonada ride was MAGNIFICENT. I suggest doing it late afternoon when the mountain is blocking the sun, make sure you have some really odd questions for the person who spends their shift sitting at the top of the ride...
  25. Ryan, is this the queue line or is there a closer viewing section for GP to go to down this path?
