  1. I'm almost ashamed to admit this, but my first coaster with inversions was the New York New York one in Las Vegas. I had always grown up going to Kings Island and Dollywood, but was terrified of the Vortex and other upside-down coasters for some reason. Somehow in Vegas (no alcohol, I was only 15) I decided what-the-heck attitude, and let them take me on. Luckily it was decent enough that I survived and enjoyed it, and went on not to be scared of them anymore!
  2. Millenium Force - A Maverick - A Top Thrill Dragster - A- Raptor - A- Gemini - B Magnum - C- Iron Dragon - C- Corkscrew - F (ow) Mean Streak - F- (ow ow ow) Didn't ride: Blue Streak, Mantis (I loathe stand-up coasters, they give me too much of a black-out feeling), Woodstock, Jr. Gemini, Wicked Twister (afraid I'd get motion sickness)
  3. Dollywood now (hence the name). I go at least 6-8 times a year, usually with my mom. Occasionally I'll go by myself, if I'm in a coaster mood and no one is available. I'm a school teacher, so it's easy to head over anytime in the summer. Growing up, it was Kings Island. My mom would either take me and we'd do the park together, or she'd drop a friend and I off for the day and tell us to meet her at the entrance or the Eiffel Tower at x:xx time.
  4. Thanks for your answers Andrew, I appreciate it. We will play it by ear on which day we go. I mentioned the Yuengling tour to my husband and he is all about that, so big thanks from him too!
  5. I have a few questions: 1) My husband and I will be in Tampa in early June. What day of the week is typically best to visit: Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday? We won't be there on Monday, and I'm automatically taking out Friday. 2) I see Play & Dine tickets for $85 online, is this a good deal? The cheapest one day ticket I saw on their website was $80, so of course I would take the $5 extra, but I wonder if I'm missing something... 3) Is the front of the line pass worth it? I know "worth" is different to each person, but we want to ride all of the big coasters while we are there, preferably more than once. So if we can't do that in a day, we would definitely need this pass. Thanks for the help!
  6. Thanks for the clarification on the Water Challenge, sounds fun although a bit chilly! I've ridden Cyclone only once this season, but I highly doubt any of that water is coming back in the cup. I take it you want front seat on this ride so that the water isn't hitting you from everyone else's cup as well... P.S. - seeing the posts about the person with bad grammar, THANK YOU Robb for making this a place where only proper "speaking" is allowed, nothing irritates me worse than terrible grammar or textspeak.
  7. I don't have my tickets yet, but I'm definitely coming to this event! Still trying to find someone to come with me though, so far all my friends think I'm crazy - I need some new friends!
  8. I'll be going to Dollywood a week from Monday. Can't wait to see Thunderhead and Wild Eagle again!
  9. Favorite Steel Coaster = Millenium Force. I rode this one my very first time front seat with my Grandma (her idea to wait for front), it was well worth it. I MUST go to Cedar Point at least every couple of years just to ride this ride. Wood = Thunderhead. I love to marathon this ride, most was 13 times in a row. Good times.
  10. 2010 & 2012 have been the years for the most new coasters for me, and they're not that many: 2012 (16): Top Thrill Dragster, Corkscrew, Gemini, Raptor, Firehawk, Batman, Dare Devil Dive, Cyclone, Goliath, Mindbender, Ninja, Superman, Mine train, Scorcher, GASM, Wild Eagle 2010 (13): Millenium Force, Blue Streak, Mean Streak (ow), Maverick, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Iron Dragon, Magnum, Diamondback, Flight of Fear, Crypt, Boo Blasters (does this count since it was a new old ride?), Surf Dog, Flying Ace Aerial Chase Up until 2010, the only 2 parks I had ever been to were Kings Island and Dollywood. My new goal is to go to at least one new park every year.
  11. I really liked this show as well as the Waterpark one before it. Although I love roller coasters, I have not been to a lot of theme parks - Dollywood, Kings Island, Cedar Point, and Six Flags Over Georgia are it. So, it was awesome for me to get to see these other coasters out there. I was shocked though like most of you were at the winners, I didn't pick either one. Both of the winners seemed kind of blah to me compared to the other choices. Can't wait for the episodes that feature coasters I've ridden in the next few shows!
  12. Hello everyone, I am a new poster as you can see, but I have been reading these forums for about 1.5-2 years now and finally decided to register due to this event! I am about 90% sure I am going to come to the Deep South Bash, but I've got a couple of questions: 1) My husband is working that weekend, my best friend can't come, and my other friends are weenies...so will there be a group or groups for me to join when I get there so I'm not wandering around all day? 2) I'd like to spend the night, but can't afford two nights. Which would be better Friday night, so I can get morning ERT but I will miss evening ERT? Or drive in Saturday morning (arrive around 10-11), and spend that night there. 3) Is anyone coming from East TN that would like to carpool? I hate driving to Atlanta. 4) My mom works for Marriott, which means a steep discount for me. Are either of these decent hotels? (They are the cheapest by far, if I can stay at one of these safely I may be able to squeeze in 2 nights if my husband agrees). Springhill Suites - 960 Bob Arnold Blvd Courtyard - 950 Bob Arnold Blvd
