Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

Oh, I'm sure it would be plenty expensive, and probably unrealistic to completely revamp. The money would be better spent elsewhere. I'm not really complaining, but it's just a thing I would like to see. Catwoman will probably bring some new life to the area, so I'm not worried. As long as the ride exists, I'll be content. (Although... if I really had my way with a wish list, I would un-do the removal of Mr. Freeze, right after the permanent reconstruction of the Mule-Go-Round. RIP x2. ) -

Vandalism is a crime. Crime rates are different, per city/region. Until someone does an objective study on it, I'm going to go with my assumption areas of lesser crime have fewer F-words scratched into their urinal stalls. The mindset falls within respect for property, including Batmobiles. Maybe a university can place one Batmobile each in the ten highest crime cities in the US and one Batmobile in the ten lowest crime cities in the US to see which one ends up with flat tires first. Where would you place your bet? -

Lol. I totally see where you're coming from, looking at it from the outside in. But, in all fairness, people have been asking for the Batmobile's return, for years. The Batman 5k queue was in need of being updated, and it received some nice TLC. WoF has constant beautification and improvement upgrades each year. It's good to see that kind of effort being put into our MO park. The difference is, WoF has the most luke warm coaster line-up in the midwest, so if SFSTL can come up to their quality standards with our line-up, it would be tremendous. Cat Woman's new location next year will probably revitalize that area, and I think it will look good on top of the hill. The location will provide the same illusion of added height Superman did. We'll all miss Superman, but let's face it, from a maintenance standpoint it was a piece of shit. It didn't make a dead spot in the park any less dead. SFSTL made the right choice. If I had to put one thing on my wishlist for the near future, it would be some TLC for Screamin' Eagle. Queue/station improvements, return of the logo, and chaser lights would be well received. I don't think the chaser lights would even have to run throughout the course to have a strong effect. They could stop after the train passed the station. Are the floodlights still on the first hill? I've seen nothing but positive improvements this year. I'm looking forward to our first trip... whenever that may be. -

Make sure to ride the train at the Zoo. Grant's Farm is another popular attraction, although even though I'm native to the area, I've never been. We attempted twice, but I think you have to get there way before opening. -

Who would have thought they would put so much love into an older ride? Big Kudos. Batman is still one of the best rides in the park. -

I swear, the COVID conversations won't die in this thread... I've thought for months there should be a title change from DW to Official COVID 2021 thread... relevant conversations of park policy updates are nice to know, so thank you for that, but by now we're not going to change mindsets in the Dollywood thread of an amusement park enthusiast website. Pointless waste of text. Completely agree, so I try not to spread negative repetitive social debate elsewhere. In other news... I'm glad to hear LR is running more consistent. I wish I had the time for a short visit, but I have to settle for easy warm weather trips like a few nights in Vegas, for now. -

Watch the media day footage of Tidal Twister, which is arguably the most boring looking one. The park reps and journalists trying to build the ride up as exciting is entertaining. Most of the ride is just trying to get up to speed to clear the 30 foot hill.... Screamin Eagle is like The Beast, for me. It's just a cool ride. The air seems mild at most, but we love it. -

Take the Skywarp challenge. Try to watch a video of a painfully slow full cycle without moving on to the next video. -

I forgot about the ferris wheel. Luckily, she's considered advanced in her observational skills and attention span. That makes it fun to see her actually pay attention to things and interact with her, instead of just being constantly on the move. She'd love the ferris wheel. -

Our kid is in the 97% for height, making her 30" tall. She turns a year old in May. I'm guessing we'll be able to go on the little train together, and the full size train. Are there any other kid rides that would work? -

Who would have thought a 37 year old roller coaster purchased during COVID from Mexico, that had been previously located at 5 other parks, and had once tragically killed riders, would take a little time and TLC . Maybe we should give Indiana Beach a little credit. -

It's more than convenience. I'll share some of what's included in our typical days at Breakers. In bold is what you can't, or isn't really worth it when staying off site: -Wake up and go for an early job around the peninsula/beach -Grab a Starbucks Coffee and drink it by the beach or in our room overlooking the beach, prior to park opening -Get cleaned up and lounge/relax for a short period, overlooking the beach -Go to breakfast somewhere in the resort -Get to the park an hour early -Fast lane plus -Ride everything at our complete leisure -Go back to our room and eat whatever healthy lunch we packed in a cooler -Ride leisurely again. -Possibly take a dip in the pool later afternoon. -Take a short nap to recharge -Drink a cold beer in the room from our cooler -OR even better: go to the bar and start the evening with a cocktail on the beach patio -Ride rides and eventually get melt. -Take any leftovers back to our room via short walk -Ride until close -Walk around the dead very quiet closed park before heading back (don't skip this) -Grab a drink at the bar (optional) -Enjoy it in our room, on the beach, in the hot tub, on our balcony, etc. -Possibly substitute or add ice cream sold at the Breakers Ice Cream shop It's not just convenience. It's an experience. It's not a strain on our budget, so we get the most out of our experience. If you want to save money, that's your prerogative, and there's nothing wrong with that. But, don't pretend there's very little difference between staying at Breakers Express and Breakers. You're not going to sell me. If anyone hasn't stayed at Breakers, they don't really have a basis for argument. Our several day trips to CP wouldn't be special, without Breakers. For us, it's what separates it from other parks. It's hard to find that kind of package elsewhere. With a couple nights at Breakers and FL+, it takes all of the urgency out of the trip. Of note, we choose to stay in rooms overlooking the beach, since we see the park most of the day. It's turns it into somewhat of two different experiences in one. -

If they load every row this season I wonder if it will ride a little different.
