What was I even thinking.... X2 at night provides an awesome view of the park and partially of the Santa Clarita Valley. And that's actually a chain hill. Don't kill me, but I haven't been on Millennium Force yet so I have not experience that one...

True, but it seems that every time I visit the mountain (about every 3-5 months) the Sky Tower is closed or my group doesn't want to visit it -____- But true the Sky Tower allows for pictures The LA Times reported that they would announce it July 4th. Considering they said that BEFORE opening day was changed, the park probably will make their announcement after Lex opens. If they can delay Lex, they can delay an announcement

According to the LA Times it is suppose to happen around July 4 (next week)!! Oh hey Jp! It's CSM lol. I wonder if the big announcement will be before or after Lex? I don't think they would announce it 2 days before Lex.... so they may delay the announcement too....

I love Xcelerator the most, but Goliath and X2 come close.

Not sure how you can make a blanket statement that the delay is due to a sudden mechanical problem (because that is what it sounds like you are implying). It was a very short testing window anyway, with many variables in the equation up to and including interaction with S:EFK. As far as I know they have not tested the two simultaneously yet. It could have also been as simple as the state requiring more testing than what they would have had by Thursday or Saturday. It could have been the testing crew not being comfortable turning over the ride to operations yet. It could be due to operations training. Maybe they are waiting for some shrubberies. There are dozens of things it could have been other than some kind of mechanical issue. Could have been a mixture of issues. If there was some kind of major mechanical issue, the delay would have been more than a week IMO. In the end, we'll never know, and it's not really that big of a deal. 1 week in the grand scheme of things won't mean much if the ride is around 20-30 years from now. That wasn't intended to be exact, it was intended to get the point across that obviously something came up and the park didn't think that it was going to happen. ^^^As said a few of comments up, there are so many variables that come into play. And like YOU mentioned, I'm not sure how much they have tested S:EFK and LL:DOD together. And keep in mind people even if other parks have weather to deal with constructing rides, SFMM has 17 coasters and so many other things to worry about during construction.

I was just looking forward to a June 30th opening day because I am out of town on the 7th lol. Oh well I'll get to this beast by the end of summer. I do believe this delay was because of a sudden problem, so y'all stop hating on the delay! Like said, you shouldn't be disappointed considering the date is so tentative.

Are you going Friday for the EDT? Believe it or not I'm not able to make it for any of the EDT days..... so I am sticking out the line on opening day! And thank you coasternut! I want to get on Lex as fast as possible lol.

Could I say Supreme Scream at Knott's? If you sit on the right ride, you can see for miles and on clear days even see the beach.

How would anyone know if the ride will be open with the park since it is not even open yet? No haha I was asking if anyone had ever been to the opening day of any ride at SFMM and what it was like. So I know what to expect if I go to the Lex Luthor opening day!

This ride will still be legit. Can't wait to ride it! If I go on Saturday could anyone give me advise for an Opening Day? I figured I should get there early but is the ride open as soon as the park opens?

^^agreed, I went June 8th and Little Mermaid had a line, but it was constantly moving.
