  1. ^With a phone that likes to "auto correct" dang near any word I type anything is possible. I'm more surprised it didn't change it to Medusa
  2. Made a quick stop up at the park today to snatch a Bizarro pin crowds weren't too too bad only managed to get a ride on Green Lantern and Bizarro before I had to take off. My pin addiction continues to grow with every passing day. Why did I choose this over Nitro or El Toro? The world may never know. That is all considering I was only at the park for an hour. Ah almost forgot, Runaway Train looked great with its new cancer fighting ads, what a great cause.
  3. I only managed one ride on Wonder Woman and one on Nitro this morning as I had to work, but I will say facing Nitro does seem to give the best ride. When you reach full swing you are completely outward and it provides some incredible views. I'm not used to seeing great adventure upside down like that.
  4. It's hard to say I got on the ride right at opening this morning and they were kinda hard plastic vest like. The ride was great, awesome speed and views from almost upside down at that, but I'm only 5'9 so I can't really say how it will feel for larger guests.
  5. I'd really hate to see Gemini go, it's such a unique classic, but it sounds as though its time is coming.
  6. Yeah, I heard thanks for the update though I'm curious what the deal is with it, but I have been on Firehawk so it's not a huge loss.
  7. I'm considering taking my first trip to the park tomorrow I've held off for along time considering the things I've heard about the park, but I think it's time to experience it. I'm not entirely sure what to expect, but if I go there are a few rides I am looking forward to.
  8. Nitro might not be out of this world crazy, but it is a great ride that can be reridden over and over no problem and there are no complaints to be had with Nitro it's probably the biggest crowd pleaser in the park.
  9. ^If you go on a weekday like you are saying I wouldn't think crowds would be to bad yet because school isn't out yet, weather also plays a factor though. I think you will end up making out ok.
  10. The Intamin curse strikes again! Now that it got Volcano it has moved on to its next victim . Hopefully it is back up soon as it is such a fun ride.
  11. ^I really hope when the time comes Nitro gets a full repaint in the original color scheme it's such a unique paint job and when it was new it really looked awesome. Nitro is still one of Great Adventure's stars and deserves only the best, but then again this is six flags we are talking about .
  12. ^It really is getting rather faded, but I think the clouds could play a part in making it look so faded in that picture, as there is no filter on it. It is a bit strange comparing pictures of 2006 El Toro to 2019 El Toro, thankfully the ride itself is still amazing
  13. ^I believe Wonder Woman is the bigger version
  14. I did end up taking a trip to the park today, and the weather was actually really nice. I made sure to marathon on Toro as much as I could before the park got somewhat busy . I will say that ride never gets old I guess I take it for granted a bit as it's at my home park and I've been riding it since it opened, but nonetheless by now everyone knows how great it is. I will say though I do think the turnaround needs to be retracked next. While I do enjoy the old school Woodie feeling on the airtime hills, that turnaround is starting to get a little painful. The other coasters were running well and the lines weren't too bad. Another random note is that the more I ride Batman this year the more I notice how welded up it is. Now I know ride maintenance and welding is normal, but Batman just looks like it's literally been welded together everywhere this year. I just hope this is a sign that the park is keeping up on its maintenance and not a sign that old age is starting to kick in. I remember towards the end of my beloved Scream Machines life it too required a lot of welding. In other news the finishing touches are being put on Wonder Woman with workers working on what appeared to be the lighting package today. All in all a good day although the lines for security are a bit outrageous this year I hope in the future it can be expanded to cut down on wait times as the time to get in the park is now way longer than most other parks I have been to. Oh and I almost forgot I finally decided to ride Cyborg today, decent ride it's very interesting to watch the ride move while you are in it. I'll be back next week for Wonder Woman and to get my PIN!!! Hope you guys enjoy my trip reports! I know they aren't much, but I try to provide them as frequently as possible! El Toro, looking beautiful as usual. Weird afterthought, I love watching the wood age every year Having been on a decent amount of floorless coasters at this point, Bizzaro still remains one of my favorites and is very smooth The required shot, unfortunately spiderman happened to swing by as I was taking this photo and his web got in the way Always a fun and snappy invert, a ride on Batman was required. Notice the welding on the track though I see it on many rides, but none in particular as much as Batman The final touches are being placed on Wonder Woman in preparation for the rides opening next week Six flag's most explosive coaster is always a must ride and also my favorite B&M hyper I find Green Lantern to provide the best rides in the back row surprisingly and it can actually be quite enjoyable, but I can never forgive it for replacing my beloved Scream Machine I'm glad this classic is still here, although I do miss being able to rise right up past the top of Scream Machine And finally, it looks like the repaint on Superman is complete
  15. ^At that point you might as well just join the illuminati
  16. As a coaster enthusiast I get excited when any coaster gets built be it a family coaster or a monster, it's another credit in my book
  17. The north American Togo stand ups are now extinct, although one lives on far from home.
  18. Thankfully I only have a 45 minute ride from Great Adventure so if the park closes early it's no biggie.
  19. ^If I can marathon on El Toro like I did Nitro during holiday in the park it will be worth it
  20. Planning on taking a solo trip to the park this Friday! So far it's looking like it could be a bit stormy, but as long as it keeps the crowds away I'm happy . I'll definitely try to provide some photos as usual and if anyone happens to be around let me know! As long as the weather holds out I should be there all day and I'm hoping to do a good few rides on Ka and Toro since my girlfriend is not a fan of them so I don't get to ride them all the time .
  21. I think the enforcement of these policies is hit or miss though as I noticed yesterday at Kings Dominion while the whole metal detection policy is going strong none of the ride ops actually seemed to enforce the policy they just took the cards and went on with things people still had loose articles in pockets and such, and this was consistent, while the way loose articles are handled is changing in the industry I do believe there are still many kinks to be worked out.
  22. ^ Anytime guys I enjoy doing trip reports I try to get out to a park at least once every 2 weeks it's just a little tough being the only coaster nerd in my friend group I need to branch out
  23. It is definitely gonna be interesting to have 2 hyper coasters right next to each other, but being that they are completely different makes it work although I think the gp is gonna flock to this new coaster way more than skyrush.
  24. If you can make time for Dorney it's worth a stop too, it's not the biggest park but the lines are always short and they have a decent lineup, plus the last first gen intamin free-fall in the US
  25. Here's a quick little trip report from Saturday. Since this weekend was mainly about Busch Gardens I only spent about 4 hours at Kings Dominion before the rain came in, but I managed to get on everything. At opening I went right to Avalanche since it has such a low capacity and the line tends to move slow. It worked out as I managed to be front row on the first train of the day! I'm glad this ride is still around as it is a fun little ride, although the view from the lift has changed a bit. From here I hit Anaconda and of course, it had no line, but I love this ride so I can't complain. STILL NO WATER EFFECTS THOUGH. Following this was Timmy which never gets old. It was already warmed up really early in the morning and running incredibly fast you can't deny the love for the twistyness! Next up was twisted timbers, which was hauling as usual. The metal detector system was interesting and now uses green and red cards instead of stamps. Regardless of this system the ride ops didn't seem to actually check at all if people actually put phones and keys in the pouches, so while I hope this policy works out I cannot be certain From here I hit Apple Zapple and Grizzly. Apple Zapple always seems to have a bit of a line so I normally pass on it, but my girlfriend had never been on it so we took the wait. On the other hand Grizzly was hauling and running much better than it was during my last rides in the beginning of April. At this point it was time for Flight of Fear which is a personal favorite of mine. Flight of Fear seems to run very consistently and always well, but I definitely recommend the front over the back. The 15 minute wait was made shorter through meeting another coaster nerd who understands the language my girlfriend doesn't . We then went to hit Dominator, but it had a bit of a line so Rebel Racer 75 Yell it was. I must say this ride has become.... let's just say interesting. The ride is about half retracked at this point so you get moments of super smooth sailing followed by jarring bumping and then back to smoothness. I'm glad it is being maintained though as I would hate to see it go the way of Thunder Road. The final ride of the day was Dominator which in the front row is actually pretty good! and I didn't get as much rattling as I did in the back last month, which is definitely a plus. At this point it started raining a bit so I hit the shops to appease my pin collecting habit. What was once a horrid sight has become a thing of beauty Definitely a front row ride It looks like the eiffel tower repaint is almost complete And finally since this is a short report here are the remains of the extinct volcano, there really isn't much left anymore basically just the station
