The Mega Dead Celebrity Thread

My heart sank so much when I read the news that Satoru Iwata passed away at age 55. RIP Satoru Iwata And thanks for Earthbound (and many other great games) -
Personally, and maybe I'm the only one who notices, but the film is a bit darker than it was before. I was hoping for the new 4k-quality projectors to really make the colors pop, but it turned out not to be. I also think it's weird that the film doesn't fade to dark anymore and instead fades to blue, which I think kills the illusion of the attraction. Again I'm probably the only one who notices/cares, so take it for what it's worth. Soarin' is still Soarin', with its amazing music and visuals.

Currently, my two big video game obsessions are "Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep" (via the HD 2.5 Remix) and "Kingdom Hearts re:coded." Many Kingdom Hearts fans that I talk to often point to "Birth by Sleep" as the best game in the entire series. Having played through Terra and Ventus' storylines, I have to say that I totally agree. This is the first time in a while that I have had fun playing a Kingdom Hearts game. The battle system is one of the finest and most polished in the series. It's just so much fun leveling up commands and melding them together to create one really strong and cool-looking attack. As for "re:coded," I initially gave it a pass as just some mobile game remade for the DS (it was originally a mobile game), but I picked it up for cheap and again, I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of different gameplay styles the game has from level to level. One minute, it plays very much like a traditional Kingdom Hearts title, next thing you know it plays like an old-school JRPG or an on-rail shooter or a 2.5D platforming level. Plus it retains the same battle system from "Birth by Sleep." So yeah overall, I really love these two games and highly recommend them.

Decided to give "Birdman" a watch. It's...interesting to say the least. Don't know about it being "Best Picture" material though. I mean, it wasn't bad but it was missing something and I can't quite place my finger on it. I will say though the cinematography was pretty cool though and Michael Keaton put on an amazing performance. Overall, I say "Birdman" is worth a rental. -
So "Five Nights at Freddy's 2" was unexpectedly released this past Monday. Honestly, for me it's more hot-and-cold than the last game. I don't know, to me something is off about the sequel and it's missing something that the first game did right. Maybe it's the lack of any real strategy with the animatronics (they have no real patterns, they just show up when they feel like it) or the somewhat lazy kill animations, but the sequel is not really doing it for me. Having said that though, the surprise twist at the end really got me and I am still all the more curious about the game's lore and background.

So happy to hear that "Big Hero 6" was amazing! I too agree that San Fransokyo looks like a really cool place and I would totally love to see an area themed around it to come to the Disney parks. Actually...didn't Tokyo DisneySEA announce that they were planning to add another port to the park but were vague on details? This may just be me being hopeful, but maybe... -
^ Bought the iPad version of the game. While I really like the concept and the characters and the idea of working at a Chuck E Cheese-esque place after hours with the animatronics trying to kill you, I thought the gameplay itself was lackluster. All you do is just look at cameras and occasionally flick on a light. And really, the only scares in this game are cheap jumpscares that could scare anyone. Having said that, despite the gameplay looking to be more of the same, I am curious to see what the sequel goes with the story, characters, and whatnot.

Although it would definitely be a different experience and change the dynamics of the park, I don't really see FP+ working out at Disneyland. It's not to say that it's a bad system for Walt Disney World (where most people who visit tend to book months in advance) but for Disneyland (a park visited mostly by locals who play it by ear), I don't see it being beneficial, aside from allowing people to book their RSR Fastpasses in advance. I guess what I'm trying to say is while it would be neat to see FP+ implemented at Disneyland, it can take its time getting here.

"Crash Bandicoot: Warped". Good times...I never understood how people were able to get all platinum relics. I've been playing that game since I was 8. Still can't do it.

Oh man, I bought "Tomodachi Life" for the 3DS about two weeks ago. So far, it's been the most addicting game I've played in recent memory. It's especially funny if you happen to have any silly or cool Mii's (i.e. presidents, celebrities, anime characters) and see who becomes friends with who. It's almost like having a fish tank. While you might not do much, it's still fun and funny to see what happens to your Mii's. I highly recommend it to any 3DS owner.

"Frozen": It's unanimously among my family that "Frozen" is one of the best movies Disney has put out in a long time! The story was great with plenty of dramatic moments and a few twists that keeps you interested in the plot. The animation is absolutely beautiful, the characters were all fun and likable, especially Olaf. I will admit that I thought Olaf would kill the movie for me, but surprisingly I thought he was really funny and he ended up being my favorite character. And of course, "Let It Go" is by far the highlight of the movie. If you haven't already, go see it! You won't regret it! -
^ Speaking of Nintendo 64, I manage to obtain 100 out of the 120 Power Stars on Super Mario 64. I downloaded it a while ago from the Wii Virtual Console and I'm surprised I made it this far. But the last few levels are really making me work for those stars (first time ever playing a 3D Mario game).

^ They're more or less the same game. However, a lot of story elements in BLack 2/White 2 make more sense if you played the first game. But the second game improves a bit from the first game in that there are more post-game options.

It's always sad to hear when something like this happens on a roller coaster as great as Texas Giant. I feel especially bad not just for the woman who sadly lost her life, but also for the people on-board who saw everything happening. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragedy.

^ To each is own, but I thought the Space Mountain track was awesome. Bonus points for using the original Dick Dale soundtrack.

How about an entire game taking place at a theme park?

If I had a 3DS, I would totally get Animal Crossing!
