  1. Screamscape is reporting that SWSD is scrapping plans on their own Antarctica themed area mainly because of the negative response on the Orlando version, here's hoping to a launched version of Indy jones ( water style) at the popular SD park. Lets be honest the Q2 results have been lackluster from Seaworld Parks, but the SD one is flourishing this season!! I think it's about the time they really start investing in this park... Any thoughts??
  2. I think this is going to end up being one of the best rides in the park, looking massive!!!
  3. I'd say X2 is up there with the best of them as far as intensity goes
  4. It looks pretty "circular" to me. I really think the loop is going to be really intense and fun, especially when comparing it to a coaster like montezumas which I always thought had a pretty intense loop. Also do you guys think the launch will be more intense or a gradual build up into the loop?
  5. Looks really cool and fun, it's gonna be weird stopping mid way through a drop. This has gotta be the first drop in the world with brakes in the middle of its drop!
  6. Am I the only one who can't see the link for the construction pics??
  7. Just drive by knotts on the five and saw windseeker fully testing!
  8. Quick question for all of you sfmm regulars, I'm going tomorrow to the park and was just wondering what the consistency of both superman and lex Luther being open have been the past month or so??
  9. They also said a little bit ago that the fresh water aquarium next door to the theater was getting torn down for a new restaurant/ eatery. Nice to see that area of the park getting a makeover, although honestly I'm not at all excited for the new show. I'd rather have seen a new 4d movie in there, oh well. On a side not would an Antarctica ride even work in San Diego considering the 30 foot height limit. The one in Orlando seems a lot taller than that???
  10. Pony express seems like it could have been good if they had it wind all around big foot rapids, shame it didn't come out that way.
  11. I've never got to ride pony express, every time I go its either too long of a line to wait for or it's broken down. How is it compared to say manta in San Diego?
  12. True but considering its been almost 10 years since they built a thrilling coaster, I think it's time for some love for the adults. Plus if they are only going to build family coasters, why not something in between like manta at seaworld SD. These little ones just aren't cutting it...
  13. Actually there's going to be 5 family coasters once Coast Rider is done. Overkill!
  14. Did a quick run through the park the other day and snapped a few pictures to share of the happenings around the park, mainly of the construction beginning for the new themed entrance. On a side note there's rumors going around that when JTA opens from its rehab, it will be an altered ride experience. If I had to guess, I'd say they're improving the story-line of the ride, which is damn near incomprehensible. Anyone know more??? These are the walls up in front of the park for the temporary entrance they're building This is where the new entrance will have the guests enter once done. It's between the Hospitality center and the current entrance Up above gives you a nice overview of whats going on not sure if this is construction for the new entrance or just landscape work In other news it looks as though they're adding a little river in Manta's queue And final pic of Manta starting to grow up a little
  15. I know this is hard to speculate, but when do you guys honestly think Fu!l Throttle will open? I just got free tickets to six flags and dont want to use them til it opens!! May? June? July?
  16. Saw some pics on a local website showing that footers have been dug for the station for coast rider, looks like progress is starting to pick up for the new area
  17. Honestly I don't know why everyone raves about xcelerator, but is hating on what Full throttle is going to bring. I really feel the best part of xcelerator is the first launch and then after that its ok. The drop doesn't really do much for me and the high banks are boring. I'm counting on full throttle being a good ride, considering the launch is only 12 mph less than xcelerator.
  18. Everyone talks so much crap on SFMM, but this is by far the most popular thread on this site, anyone know why?????
  19. Wow this came absolutely out of nowhere!! Super pumped, but kinda bummed this isn't going to be right next door to the main park. Its nice to see that the company recognizes that SD is a huge market and has been investing a lot into the area ( manta, explorer's reef, now aquatica!!) It will be interesting to see how they transform/ exapnd the park!!!
  20. It's nice to see my home park finally getting some love these past few years. This looks like it can be really good. As for the next ride, I'd bet a lot on a copy of the penguin ride going in Orlando. Probably won't see it til 2017 or 2018 though.
  21. This sounds pretty good, wonder when construction will begin....
  22. On a different note: Does anyone remember the haunt SWSD used to put on??? I never went but I remember thinking it might be good, what the hell happened to it???
  23. The rumors keep getting worse and worse for knotts in '13. Screamscape is now reporting a coaster the size of a wild mouse, in addition to a couple flat rides. Jeez I give up!!!!!
  24. Screamscape's new rumor is extremely disappointing. If they really are removing PP and using all of that valuable space for a scrambler and another flat ride, then you probably won't see me at Knotts for a very long time. Sadly Screamscape is usually pretty close to being right!!
