Nice report of 'our' Efteling. It was fun to read how people from the USA think about our parks... most of the time we are just jealous because of the themeparks and rides that are in the USA. If you like the music of the spookslot, it is called Danse Macabre Also you liked the vending machine's, but did you try one of our 'Frikandellen' ? -

Awsome pictures of an even more awsome 'fest' I was there for the weekend, the Oktoberfest just rocks. Nice you guys know the dance of 'das Fliegerlied' it is just one of those 'Oktoberfest basics' you need to know -
We have planned an trip to Florida (25 sept - 12 oct) we are going to visit the Howl o Scream event (first time HOS), on the website i have seen some vip/guided tours of the HOS event, in Holland there are not much experiences with this. Is there someone here that followed an guided tour and can tell somthing about the experiences. Also it is not clear to me with the front of line you get on the guided tour, is it included in the time of the tour, or is the front of line valid outside of the times from the tour.

Rastiland, but they only have a Vekoma Kiddy coaster, so not worth it.

Your comparison is not correct, EP is above Freiburg not under it. But EP combined with HP is not a good one, if you drive in one time then you will need about 6 hours without an pauze. You can better combine Europapark with Holidaypark and some other parks around that places (about 10 miniutes from EP you can get some coaster credits in a very small park) or you can go to Legoland. (about 2,5 hours drive from EP)

Believe me, Moviepark is not worth it anymore, the demolished a rollercoaster (URL), but Europa park is a great park, and if you can afford it, try the colloseo hotel located near the park, a great themed hotel with a greath bar at the top of it. Holiday park is not far away from EP, the park itself is not very good, but Expedition Geforce is an incredible coaster. Heidepark is some more away from EP, the park is very 'german' in the theming, it has a airtime woody and from next year they have a kind of 'Rita' copy (Desert Storm) If you are travaling from EP to Heidepark an funny sugestion is to visit Legoland Germany, not very special, but who didnt play with lego when he was small, when you walk there you just get happy (visit the Link for a picture TR (in dutch) from a few friends of our last visit to legoland)

Theme Park Review's 2007 Group Trips!
Powermage replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
cool, at themepark.nl there will be also an Spain trip in 2007, (USPA rock's) but one note for you guys, why are you going in the end of june to Spain? it is the middle of the vacancie's so it wil be very crowded overthere, most of them are also going to the 'party places' like salou. -
This year i will be at DLRP with christmas, i am realy looking forward to it, why? i am not going for the ride's but more for al the theming / show's and the 'feeling' (this will be my first time disney in winter so i will post some picture's and things when i come back)

What is your local park?
Powermage replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just like Yero (also themepark.nl member) i am from Holland. The town where i live is Lelystad. the nearest park for me is Walibi World, about 20 minutes away, an other (big) park will be 'De Efteling' about 70 minutes. also there are some small parks, but it think that a park like 'Koniging Juliana Toren' is not that interesting -
Efteling Discussion Thread
Powermage replied to Pepper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
the Efteling has changed a lot, the latest ride 'Pandadroom' (4D Cinema) had a lot of budget cut's on theming. it is still a nice thing, but hopefully the Efteling will spend a lot of money on De Vliegende Hollander (the Flying Dutchmen ) -
Like already said, it is steel against wood, both very good, if i compare Goliath in his first year with Colossos then is Colossos my number one, but after a few years G! is getting more speed (first year he was very slow) now he realy fly's through the track. so, now in 2005, Goliath (but i like Expedition Geforce in Holiday park some more, but mabey that is because i live 20 minutes away from Walibi World, so Goliath is 'normal' for me)
