  1. As long as there's enough of us "old fogeys" going along, I'm OK with it. If I'm following what you said. from what age and up are you considered an "old fogey" ? ^^ I shouldve hit 22 by then. Old? hehe.
  2. Okay, I think my camera came with such a plug. Thanks for that URL.
  3. Thanks for that! I was hoping for it to show up tonight ^^ edit: read through it, really enlighting. jarmor [6:07pm]: electrical outlets...I heard they are different in Japan... SharkTums [9:19pm]: I'll let Robb take that one, since he's our resident electrical dude! robbalvey [9:20pm]: The 2-prong electrical outlets are the same in Japan, but if you have any 3-prong plugs you'll need to get a standard 3 to 2 prong adapter. We have brought laptops, cameras, chargers, etc to Japan and plugged them right into the wall with no problem. There will be a section on this in the guide that we'll produce for the participants of the Japan trip. This doesn't matter for my phone (I'm not bringin one (or keeping it switched 'on') because it doesn't work there), but it would concern a laptop (if I even consider bringing one) or my camera. I'm from NL and we have different sockets here than Japan or US (or UK).. so I was wondering if anyone could help me with some pictures on this subject since a Google image search on 'japanese sockets' doesn't really work for me since I don't know what to trust ^^ Thanks again.
  4. I won't be able to make it to the chat, gotta go to bed now: reaaal early morning for work tomorrow. Ill read the transcript (didnt have any questions at this point anyway ^^ )
  5. I just mailed my request for sending some extra money to convert my Spain deposit. This trip looks very cool and Japan has been a country I've been wanting to go to for quite some time now. Traveling with public transportation only makes this tour cooler ^^ Like you said we get to experience a real Elissa & Robb style tour this way. Anyway, can't wait to hear back from you, and I'll try to be there in the chat (or just read the transcript afterwards). Thanks for everything so far ^^ aj ps. I already sent the extra money via PayPal
  6. I will do that! Thanks for the quick reply. As long as I can then switch if I want, cause Spain is only going to be second choice if I can actually pay for Japan Thanks again Elissa, you can expect my deposit within 10 minutes via Paypal. AJ edit: put in the quote.
  7. Wow, alot of information! Thank you R&E for informing us so well (and all the other helpful members). Still - how could I - I have a question. Japan is something I really want to do, and there is no information on that yet. Fair enough. If I can't afford Japan I would like to do Spain. So I can send a deposit right now via PayPal for Spain. I read that because of the lottery, everyone has even chances to get in to one of these trips. So if I hold of depositing till the end of September, I should have even chances to get into the Spain trip! (Thanks AJ for stating what has been said 100 times over already). My question is: will the information//flyer on Japan be ready before the last possible day of sending a deposit for Spain (or Mid-West)? Or should I just deposit for Spain now, and get my money back if I decide (and have the funds to pay) to go on the Japan trip? I'm starting to think now that my small simple question has been written out a bit bigger than I anticipated, hehe. And that maybe I've answered my own question already Thanks AJ
  8. I really want to go to Japan with TPR, and if I am lucky (on cash ) I'd also like to go to Spain. USA sounds cool too.. aaaah!! Maybe I can only do Spain tho : -P Ah well. More will be clear when new info arrives in August!
  9. I think they won't do that, because more people have seen 'PotC Curse of the Black Pearl' and 'Haunted Mansion' is a bad movie compared to 'PotC'. Look at this (well you probably suspect as much I guess): PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL TOTAL LIFETIME GROSSES Domestic: $305,413,918 46.7% + Foreign: $348,500,000 53.3% = Worldwide: $653,913,918 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Compared to: THE HAUNTED MANSION TOTAL LIFETIME GROSSES Domestic: $75,847,266 41.6% + Foreign: $106,443,000 58.4% = Worldwide: $182,290,266 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 'The Haunted Mansion' doesnt even come close 'PotC' So I take it that if the movie isn't very popular those imagineers won't think of changing the ride. I sure hope so anyway. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=piratesofthecaribbean.htm http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=hauntedmansion.htm
  10. I'm not sure but I think this change is made in Paris as well as the ride was closed when a friend of mine went there a few weeks back.. Could be other stuff too, but it seemed closed all day he said. I hope so
  11. I know this tune as well.. from various places actually. For instance the end tune of a Coast 2 Coast AM program :/
  12. Wow the park seemed really empty.. you have got to share what day and time you went! I bet there were no lines anywhere? Is that a ? Are you sure this isnt a secret Disney Project? Thanks for sharing, hehe. Gotta love these Egyptian parks.
  13. Yeah but would you dare riding it?
  14. The same photographer also made this pic (didn't see it in this topic yet). It's not alot, but it's another pic of the same slide I also managed to find some quotes from people who actually went down this thing! (and some other 'rides 'n slides' there) and this one: Thought it was funny to find some more info on this thing. Looking at the height of the slide I can imagine the speed (if you were to make it) should be very fast inside the loop.. I actually think alot of people made it through : P It's just that the 'horror' stories are more interesting.. teehee.
  15. I was wondering if there were any more updates on this ride? I really cant wait to go there
