Huge Club TPR Update!
dhubbuch replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks so much for everything you and Elissa do for us, Robb! I wish I would have gotten in on the fun sooner, but it's been great being a Club TPR member the last couple of years. My son and I had a fantastic time at the East Coast Bash last year, and while we can't afford one of the tours right now, we are really looking forward to going to another event or two this year. Thanks again! -
Hurricane Sandy vs. Roller Coasters

Never rode either of these coasters, but I fully understand the "good riddance" sentiment. As a Cincinnati resident, I know I have been crying big-ass tears for weeks now that KI is finally taking down Son of Beast. -
Do you buy DVDs, Blu-Rays, or Stream Video?
dhubbuch replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The copies of Roller Coasters in the Raw I currently have are DVD, but I would love to try the Blu-Rays. Either way, if you make it, I will buy! -
Chinese awesomeness! Looking forward to the whole TR, Chuck!

The BEST roller coaster view EVER???
dhubbuch replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Absolutely awesome view. Maybe some day I can check it out for myself. -
Robb and Elissa - now that I've been back in the "real world" for a week, just wanted to say thanks for a truly great time at the East Coast Bash. My son and I have taken coaster trips every year since he was 10 or 11, and now that he is heading off to college, I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to attend a TPR event. But I have to say, our first TPR coaster experience was unforgettable. Both days were a blast, and the ERT was incredible, especially at night on I305 and Griffon. Can't wait to join you at an event in 2013!

Agree on SFA. Looks like a great trip, but I would find a way to fit Waldameer into your schedule. Well worth the trip to ride Ravine Flyer II.

East Coast Bash at Kings Dominion on Saturday and Busch Gardens Williamsburg on Sunday! -
It was a great day and great event at Kings Island riding the Racer with Team TPR. I managed 87 circuits on the coaster, although my internal organs are just now settling back into position. Everyone at KI was fantastic, especially the Racer crew, who encouraged us throughout the day, and PR manager Don Helbig, who made it a day to remember for all of us. The walk-back tour of the Beast was awesome. Special thanks to the two families who came out to support and thank us, and shared their stories of how Give Kids the World impacted them during an incredibly difficult time. It was a great reminder of why we were all there. Here are a few photos from the Beast walk-back tour. Behind the scenes on the Beast. The Beast heads down the first hill. Heading for the second lift hill. The group heads further back into the woods. The Beast exits the tunnel near the back of the ride. Hugging the ground at the furthest point from the Beast station. Coasting For Kids participants set up for some Beast photos.

Absolutely blows me away to see the support Team TPR is generating for Coasting For Kids. Be sure and encourage potential donors to watch the great Give Kids The World video. My daughter was convicted to donate $50 to my cause after watching it. Looking forward to spending time with the other Kings Island participants.

Thanks for the signature banner, Robb! Mike, I'm looking forward to my first Coasting For Kids event. The Racer is one of my favorites too; been riding it since Kings Island's opening weekend in 1972. Looks like you are in Louisville, my hometown. My first coaster was the Comet at the old Fontaine Ferry Park in Louisville. Now my son (cinciDAWGS12) and I love to roam the country riding coasters. Here is a picture of us during our first ride on Diamondback at media preview day in 2009 - in the red shirts about six rows from the back. Great coaster!
