Six Flags Fiesta Texas (SFFT) Discussion Thread

This is refreshing to hear. I was worried about Rockville being over Gotham'd and Poltergeist painted green and purple or blue to become Freeze the Joker's Jinx. -

I actually like the ride and wasn't expecting a B&M, RCM, or GCI. I'm totally against the retheming of any portion of Rockville though. SFFT should've named it Flashback left the rest of the area as is. -
That was very rude and disrespectful. His opinion is his opinion regardless of age. If you look through the forum there's a lot of people, all ages, that don't like flyers, stand-ups, woodies, wing-coasters, etc...Some people dislike The Beast. It sounds unbelievable but it's true. Some people don't like beer. Unbelievable but true. He explained why he didn't like it and it has nothing to do with his age.

I've grayed out on Goliath and could see it happening on Nitro along with a few of the inverts like Batman and Raptor (I have not been on Nemisis). -

Geeks picking on geeks. We're supposed to be safe here but the cool kids will still gang up on the outsider and put him in a fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo. I know your post isn't meant to be funny but that word filter made me laugh out loud. lol I just caught that -

I took a trip to Charlotte over the weekend to visit Carowinds. This was my first time at the park. I’ll speak on Fury 325, before I get into my review. While standing next to the not working Fury 325 display, a teenage girl and her mother were looking at the details and ride layout. The girl was reading out loud and kept saying “That’s Intimidator!” as she looked. She repeated that 3 or 4 times and I couldn’t help but to laugh. Point is, the GP notices the similarities in the ride just like we do. I got to the park around 3 p.m. Saturday and the parking lot was a lot packed. The tollbooth and entry plaza are much needed additions to the park. Once getting through the long security line, I didn’t hesitate to grab a Fast Lane Plus to make the best of my time. As I moved around, I expected the park to be a lot like KD and KI but it was a completely different feel. There was nothing impressive about the layout or ride placement and it was lacking the character of the other two former Paramount Parks I’ve visited. Ride ops were also extremely slow and I think I spent more time in brakes than I did riding. On the positive side, the park does have a good amount of coasters, plenty of shade, and a nice kids area. I also think the park is going in the right direction with the entry plaza and a record breaking coaster. I hope they plan on adding a flume in the near future followed by a launched coaster. Intimidator-Easily the best ride in the park. Everyone screams Intamin but the B&M hypers are extremely fun too. This one has awesome floater airtime from any seat. Nighthawk-I just don’t like these. lol Afterburn- The best placed coaster in the park and very fun. The front seat delivers like the rest of the B&M inverts minus Talon and Silver Bullet. Thunder Road- This was pretty much the Rebel Yell and Racer, could use a little track work. Woodstock Express- A little rough but small enough that it didn't matter. I’m going to build one of these in my back yard. Vortex-Does anyone like stand ups? Hurler-I expected this one to be terrible but it wasn’t bad at all. The first drop to the second turn was really smooth. The last two turns were rough but no enough to complain about. Ricochet-Standard mouse. I enjoy these. Carolina Cobra-I passed on the boomerang Carolina Cyclone-The train was stuck on the lift when I got to it and I tried to wait it out by riding Ricochet, but it stayed down for the rest of the night. Carolina Goldrusher-This was the surprise of the trip. The helix and final drop into the tunnel at night was a blast. The goes in the category with Adventure Express. -

I hope they don't re-theme Rockville. Six Flags won't put enough into it. I don't even want to see another Batman ride or cloned flyer. They can clone Xcelerator and it's themeing. It goes great with Rockville. -

The parking lot expansion won't happen. Egypt is going to stay the way it is for now. Gwazi takes up a lot of space. There's room there for multiple rides. -
^^^Y'all should link up. I thought about the animals in that area for ride placement and you may be right. Who knows why the park is stacking rides. Griffon is a great ride but I'm not a fan of it's placement and color similarity to Alpengeist and the new ride might as well loop over AC's lift hill for a hi-five.

I agree and that's what I've been hoping for. I don't think the noise would be too much of an issue from a pre-fab, plus it could run a sick out and back layout towards the river using the terrain. We don't like the clone idea at BGW, but the GP won't notice the difference. This is a less expensive project which means that we could see something else major pretty soon. The Wild Maus and Python (BGT) were both clones so it won't be the first time. Ireland is a better location for this ride because of it's small foot print.

I hate the see Motorama go. I think it's in a great location and blends extremely well with the theme. I'm going to jump on board with everyone that says it's not a RMC. I don't think it will be a hyper either. Has anyone mentioned an Intamin pre-fab? -

I'm only speaking for myself but I'm not offended. We're all passionate about theme parks and have our own opinions. A rusted lift chain and missing parts doesn't mean it's done. Anything that sits in Florida for a few days will rust in all the moisture. That chain is repairable/replaceable along with most of the ride. It all comes down to what BGT wants to put into it. I haven't looked at any of the structure to see if it's damaged and don't think I could get close enough to actually tell if the wood has rotted, but I'll take a look next time I go if it ever stops raining. -

^^His wording was a bit rude. We'll never know what BG has planned for the ride. We all know what Gwazi could potentially be, but it may not fit the financial plan of the park. Also, no other parks have attempted Iron-Horse rehab outside of Six Flags, so I don't see that happening here. I do see a possible RMC topper re-track and wouldn't be surprised if it was completely removed either. -

^ I agree. RMC topper would make me happy enough. I wouldn't expect to see an Iron Horse reprofile on this ride because of the cost. There's also no way we'll see 2 coasters added in 3 years. Just the cost to remove Gwazi eliminates that scenario. Gwazi may get a makeover, but I don't expect to see anything else major until 2016 depending on how far they go with Gwazi. -

You're right about that. I believe it took Mach Tower 2 years (2012-2014) to be completely operational but don't quote me. I was able to ride in 2012, but can't remember if it was during Howl-O-Scream or Christmas Town. It was closed in July of 2013 when I went. I got bored and stopped the park for a few hours yesterday evening after the storm. The paint on the tower looks great! It would be nice to see it go past 130 ft, but the bottom half adds the small...or in this case large detail you'd expect from BG. -

That was weird...but seems fun if they'd let up on the block brakes. That would probably reduce the amount of lifts too. I'm sure a scream isn't required. I'd be the stubborn guy and sit there with my arms crossed. -

King replied to booink's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think anyone on this site would hold that against a coaster unless it's a design error. That's not the case for NTaG (NTG). And I'm still upset about Dragon Challenge not dueling. -

Falcon's Fury construction update: I didn't notice much of a change as far as the vertical structure, but they have cleared a lot more space that I imagine will be the queue area. The view from the top of the Scorpion’s lift is probably the best you’ll get. -
