  1. It's longer than Oblivion but the drop on Oblivion is quite a bit higher and it's overall a bigger ride, with wider track gauge and trains. The track is huge when you stand up close to it at the point where it goes underground. Seeing these pictures of Krake reminds me of seeing Oblivion being constructed when I was a kid and not knowing what it was going to be... Germany already has some amazing roller coasters, looks like this is going to be another one
  2. I think they might be the trains for the new Dive Machine 'Krake' at Heide Park which is under construction this winter
  3. This ride looks A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
  4. I watched The Illusionist last week. Brilliant film if you like animation
  5. This topic is great At the moment I would have to say that Tik Tok song by Ke$ha but only because Dirt Nasty is in the video and he cracks me up
  6. I'm a homo but girls hit on me a lot. I am always trying to do something positive about this by introducing them to my straight male friends. Usually ends up with them getting long term girlfriends who secretly fancy gay guys. Life is strange.
  7. Here's part One and Two of the documentary segment that this is taken from. Such a shame this coaster never took off, but the comments above about B&M Inverters stealing the thunder seems to make a lot of sense to me, especially with regards to John Wardley overseeing all the prototype coasters at Alton Towers in the 90s.
  8. Is it pronounced as if it rhymed with 'Break' or like 'Cracker' ??
  9. I would say Nemesis at Alton Towers, but I've only ridden the three at that park
  10. I thought there were rumours that Thorpe Park would get the first version with the rotating seats (assuming all goes to plan with this one)? That would be amazing. Seeing the concept art for X-Raptor reminded me of the first few images Alton Towers released for Th13teen a year or so ago. Though it looks like X-Raptor is ten times the coaster Th13teen is and it's not even finished yet!
  11. I hope a UK park builds one of these in the next few years, Alton Towers in 2014 maybe. Looks amazing!
  12. That is such a cool idea for themeing on a dive machine, the walk-the-plank and then dropping into the monster's mouth. It will be really brilliant if they get it right
  13. I am so excited about this ride!!
  14. Hmm. This is all the proof I needed that the video posted 2 weeks ago was indeed sped up. Looks to me like a few seconds of intense speed, then a fairly average, quite slow and boring coaster. Not that impressed
  15. If you guys think this is secretive then I don't know what you make of Alton Towers' approach when they build new roller coasters. Oblivion in 1998 anyone? Definitely makes it more fun
  16. I think its to ensure there is ample room for the rider's feet to hang down. From the concept art it looks as though the track rail is about level with the rider's shoulders, so their legs will hang down to about the level of the bottom of the track spine...
  17. Don't mean to be a party pooper... but does anyone else think that video has been sped up a bit? Filming the launch from that distance, it just wouldn't appear that fast. For example, this is a video of a TGV train traveling at about the same speed (somewhere around 260km/ph), filmed at closer range so it should appear much faster than Formula Rossa. But I don't think it does. Hmmm...
