  1. Am I the only one drooling at every one of those construction shots? Wow, this is going to be terrific! I can't wait to see if other parks jump onboard and renovate coasters with this technique... *that's your turn Cedar Point!* I believe the ledgers are treated the same way that coasters like The Voyage are (supportwise).
  2. Well there are certainly a lot of us with that issue then. I'm not saying that this ride doesn't look good, because it does look quite fun. I'm saying that the Maverick comparisons are more than likely going to stop... I do like how BG is trying to appeal to a wider audience though. Definitely not as much of a thriller as many were expecting, but a great looking ride nonetheless. A coaster is a coaster, and it's great to see them finally get an Intamin!
  3. Busch Gardens better give those back... We aren't ungrateful, we just had expectations for a different kind of ride.
  4. It looks like they packed airtime into every nook and cranny possible! Can't wait for more progress on this.
  5. To be honest I'm a little disappointed, I was hoping for some type of top hat element. At least there's one inversion though... it almost comes across as a "family" coaster now.
  6. You've got some mad skills, sir! How were you able to create the large "panels" of wood? Did you use individual beams, or did you use catwalks? I've tried using the wooden catwalks before but I'm awful at them...
  7. I really really love that first station. Were these done using only No Limits support work? If so, that is quite impressive; I've tried doing it before and it's challenging to say the least. I've never been a huge fan of using 3Ds in No Limits, as I usually try to make everything with supports only. I have a woodie I've been working on for a while that would look incredible with something like that.
  8. Wow, thanks to all! I really appreciate it! ^Yeah, that's sort of the reason why I made this though. I saw the shortcomings in I305 and decided to see what I could do with a taller, faster ride (albeit slightly unrealistic).
  9. I think the point of the ride to some extent is to simulate race car physics; the turns are very minimally banked, there are LSM sections out of the turns, etc. From off-ride it does appear slow, but I definitely think they hit the nail on the head for this coaster. Those on-ride shots look pretty awesome.
  10. Reading through this, I couldn't help but admire what a great story there is behind this ride. Hats off to those who dug up more information on Kick Boodie, it's great that the legacy of rides like this live on today.
  11. Great part 2 shots man, really digging some of those. Out of curiosity, what type of camera did you use?
  12. Save up for a new camera... plane ticket to china... crap. I can't wait to see the rest of the drop completed, that thing is going to build up a ton of speed. I wish they built more terrain coasters like this in the States, I would travel across the country for a ride like this... but China's just too damn far.
  13. The Beast at KI back in July. Two words: night ride. One of the best rides I've ever had... I think my pants were a little wet. You can decide why
  14. Hello, my name is Michael. I'm a new member to this site, but I've been reading the TPR forums for at least 5 or 6 years and I'm a big fan. I've been been an active member of the Roller Coaster Pro forums since 2005, and I've always been a huge coaster nut. I finally made the decision to come over to TPR, so I'm looking forward to posting around here and meeting everyone in the near future! I've been building No Limits rides for quite some time, and unlike a lot of builders I don't use any tools (AHG, Newton, etc.). I have quite a few other NL creations over at RcPro if anyone is interested. _______________ I've been working on Tsunami for several months; it originally evolved from a few early projects. In fact much of the lift structure was recycled from an educated guess I had made about what Intimidator 305 would look like (before its debut). I decided to push the limits of what I think Intamin could create. I pulled quite a few elements of other existing coasters together, namely Intimidator 305, Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, and Superman Ride of Steel. Intimidator was really the ride that inspired me most for this project, but I felt like adding my own style to the layout. I've attached a POV video and a dozen or so screen shots. For anyone with No Limits, I'm attaching the zipped ride file. POV VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Btk5g3AMrg&hd=1 STATS: Length: 5,619' Height: 355' Drop: 345' Top Speed: 100 mph Maximum G Force: 4.9 Inversions: 247 ft "Cutback" Overbank element SCREENS: _______________ Thanks for checking Tsunami out! -Michael Tsunami.nltrack.zip No Limits Track File for: TSUNAMI
